    Vorweg mein Review ist nicht objektiv sondern subjektiv für mich geschrieben.

    Ich selber bin leidenschaftlicher Dark souls, Sekiro Gamer ... ich mag es " hart " aber auch fair. Und vor allem muss mir das Spiel das Gefühl geben das ich besser geworden bin durch skill und nicht nur durch Ausrüstung.     Nachdem ich von Sekiro gekommen und direkt Elex gestartet habe hatte ich gleich mehrere Schocks. Grafik, Movement, kämpfen das fühlte sich an wie 10 Jahre in die Vergangenheit. Ich hab den Titel trotzdem eine Chance gegeben und durchgespielt.

    Das mit den verschiedenen Fraktionen ist nice und auch die Welt hat eine ansprechende Größte aber mir hats trotzdem nicht gefallen.

    Was mir bei den alten Gothic Teilen gefallen hat ist das man Gebiete kannte wo man anfangs nicht hingehen sollte weil sonst war man Frischfleisch. Es hätte auch keinen Sinn gehabt dort hinzugehen... hier in Elex könnte man überall hingehen. Durch das Jetpack kann man relativ schnell abhauen wenn man aufpasst.... ich hatte nie das Gefühl das ich " in Gefahr " bin.

    Das die Elex Generatoren alle gleich aufgebaut waren.. Level Recycling hallo, hat mir auch nicht gefallen. Das ganze Cyber Laser Kanonen gegen Schwert und Schild. Viele Skill Möglichkeiten die sich super lesen und es auch sind aber effektiv hab ich anfangs gleich voll auf Stärke gehen müssen um überhaupt mal stärkere Waffen tragen zu können um auf " hard " überhaupt mal was tot kriegen zu müssen.

    Auch das die Welt erkunden habe .. Safe und Truhen geknackt habe nur um dann eine " Toiletenrolllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeee " zu finden und das nicht 1 mal .. 30 mal das hat mir den Rests gegeben .... ich hatte keine Lust zum erkunden.. für was auch ? Für die nächste Toiletten rolle ? ne danke

    Ich hab fast bis zum Ende des Spieles immer alleine ohne Gefährten gespielt.. ich spiele gern alleine aber es ging dann irgendwann nicht mehr. Wenn zuviele Mobs kommen hast du als Melee DD ohne Range Schaden einfach ab einem gewissen Schwierigkeitsgrad keine Chance.. ausweichen kostet sehr viel Ausdauer... richtig Schaden machst erst nach ner Combo Serie die natürlich von vielen Gegner schnell wieder unterbrochen wird .. und unendlich weit davon laufen bis endlich nur 1 bis 2 einem direkt folgen zum verdreschen ist weder " skillig " noch ist es " lustig "

    Werde mir Elex 2 genau anschauen werde es aber sicher nicht von Start weg spielen sondern wieder auf Patches bzw sogar mods warten. Erst wenn das Feedback merklich besser ist wie von Teil 1 dann schau ich mir das an.    … Expand

Wahrend man selbst mit Level 40 nur wenig Ausdauer hat, ist es den Gegnern möglich ununterbrochen Schläge auszuteilen.......Was haben die Entwickler sich dabei gedacht? (gedacht...HAHAHIHI) Desweiteren kann man diese KETTENANGRIFFE ( wiedermal, nur diesmal nicht die Wildschweine) nicht blocken....sorry, aber wiePiranha zeigt sich von seiner schlechtesten seite, was des Kampfsystem angeht.     This feels more like an unfinished MMO than a proper RPG. I got to 15 hours in, fruitlessly hoping to reach this alleged part of the game past which it's supposed to become fun. I have spent maybe 90% of this time running boring errands for NPCs that all have the same 3 faces and 5 hairstyles and talk waaaaaay too much while saying nothing, fruitlessly hoping for the story to getThis feels more like an unfinished MMO than a proper RPG. I got to 15 hours in, fruitlessly hoping to reach this alleged part of the game past which it's supposed to become fun. I have spent maybe 90% of this time running boring errands for NPCs that all have the same 3 faces and 5 hairstyles and talk waaaaaay too much while saying nothing, fruitlessly hoping for the story to get interesting, and fruitlessly hoping that my character would become strong enough to actually navigate this generic open world without being attacked at every step by creatures that can kill me in 2 hits and chase me across half the map, which has been my experience the other 10% of the time.

    For whoever might be a PB fanboy thinking that I just don't get it, I'm familiar with all their games, the first two Gothic series being among my absolute favorites. This game here is more comparable with Gothic 3, which was only okay, because of flaws very similar to what I mentioned above. The key difference is that G3 was released in 2006, ELEX in 2017. A Gothic-style steep progression curve is no longer enough to make me defend this game, my standards have changed, unlike those of PB.    … Expand

    Miserable combat system, miserable story telling, miserable animations, miserable balancing. I only find this game (somewhat) visually appealing. Underneath it's just a trainwreck.

    I have never seen combat this bad. Even the previous Risen games and Gothic games had better melee combat than this. How they managed to **** up this hard is beyond me.     Favorite Thing: I love post-apocalyptic. I wish the game had drawn me in enough to see and explore more.

    There is ONE good thing about this game and that is the base idea. EVERYTHING else is so painfully bad. I am familiar with the vast parted sides of fans vs naysayers and I am next to convinced that those that praise this abomination has no real references, no real experience in the gaming world.     To start of,
    Open world? it´s the worst open world I have ever had to experience. No life. No passive processes. Nothing. Just lifeless and painfully dull. No charm to be found anywhere. just large empty spaces.

    Graphics? Overall I don´t care, but man, even I couldn't believe my eyes when those xbox (original) graphics set the initial feelings in place... (I am not referring to nostalgia but lifeless greyish crap)

    RPG elements? Dull, uninspired & certainly not groundbreaking, the protagonist is the ugliest, dumbest and most awkwardly moronic protagonist I have ever seen, I just wished he could shut up and be invisible. Nothing to see here.

    Combat? Combat, AI & Animations are all some of the poorest I have ever seen.

    Immersion? Love immersion but never found any.

    Story? Bad, BUT as I implied earlier, the most basic roots & idea's are pretty interesting, the way they are put in mechanic is horrific...

    I have to give the developers that it seems like they have their heart in the right place, but maybe not their programming skills... I wish them all the luck in future undertakings.

Es handelt sich um ein kleines Studio aus Deutschland, dass eine treue Fangemeinde um sich scharrt, aber es nach fast 20 Jahren nicht hinbekommt, ein hochwertiges und vor allem spielbares Spiel abzuliefern. Bugs, fehlendes Balancing und fades Spieldesign wechseln sich hier ab. Wer über eine hohe Frusttoleranz verfügt undEs ist eine Schande! Der Enwickler bleibt sich treu..sovel ist klar!     + Game graphics is good enough, better than Skyrim SE. And that's all the game has.

    - No performance optimization for PC.
    - No physics simulation in game.
    - Story is worse than bad, boring.
    - Stupid A.I. reaction. NPC kill me every time I enter a house just to talk to Mission's NPC while I don't steal anything.
    - Gears are ugly and poor.
    - Mini-map is useless because it only show tiny icons and a black background. The mark is also useless because it's just a tiny icon on mini-map.    … Expand

    10 hours in and this game is seriously pissing me off. The scenario is a patchwork of a bunch of cliches, and that wouldn't be so bad if the writing was any good, but no, I haven't met a single interesting character, and the dialogs are clunky and boring. None of the quests are in any was exciting -- fetch this, kill that, go to that place, then return. The worst thing by far is10 hours in and this game is seriously pissing me off. The scenario is a patchwork of a bunch of cliches, and that wouldn't be so bad if the writing was any good, but no, I haven't met a single interesting character, and the dialogs are clunky and boring. I obviously need to finish quests to gain EXP, but to do that I have to fight my way through the world, but I can't do that because the only weapons I can use only take off a single pixel off most monsters' life bar while they kill me in a single attack, and I can't get any better equipment because it's either too expensive or I'm way below the attribute requirements (or both), which can't be helped because I can't get any quests done.     The hitbox is like quantum physics, you never know what exactly you are. Story... I prefer even main story from Skyrim. When the story began interesting, the game ended. On start also was nice.     Absolutely terrible game. Tried getting into it numerous times, and wasted about 12 hours on my life on it. Graphics and animations would have been outdated 10 years ago. Add clunky as hell gameplay, appalling mechanics, and very average story, and you have ELEX...

    As much a flawed jewel as a plastic ring in a Christmas cracker.

    The bad:
    Combat is bad, slow and dull.
    Dialogue is boring and bad, it so slow and puts me to sleep

    Inventory management is outdated.

    The graphics are good, but you can’t fix a broken game.
    The game is not fun and it's boring.
    I won't be buying a Piranha or Nordic games ever again because of their review manipulation.

Map exploring is awful also as theres rarely something interesting to find. This is no Gothic, Fallout nor Stalker, but pushed out early product... Best faction of free people are Clerics, because of tech and you can find best Energy Weapon in game in their biome "Mortal Beam" easily.… Expand

Идиотская раскачка, дающая вкачаться до капа хоть на 1м уровне, имей терпение, амулет на воровство и рецепт элекса; все скиллы от начала и до капа качаются в стартовом городе.
    Убогая    Бросил игру спустя 15 часов, не найдя в ней ничего того, что нашел в Г1-2 и Р1.     Убогая система боя, развития по мере прокачки в плане анимации и тактики НОЛЬ. Доспехи фракция не дают ничего. Убер имбовые пушки собираются за час после старта игры, если до этого уже пробегался по миру и находил их, которые разваливают все и вся, даже если ты 1 лвл опять же.
    Тупой лут, во всех суперсекьюрных ящиках и компах туалетная бумага, сигареты и прочий мусор.
    Мобы на локации спавнятся заново спустя полчаса игрового времени. Тупейший АИ, что противника, что соратника: соратник - это вообще пздц, о нем даже говорить не буду, противник - видя тебя за сто метров, достает мили палку и бежит в упор сражаться вместо того, чтобы достать ренж оружие, которое у него есть, ведь при взлете на джетпаке он его достает.
    Крафт бесполезен, за игру есть смысл только 2 раза улучшить оружие, что тебе нравится, и воткнуть в него пару гемов.
    Сюжет высосан из пальца и не то, чтобы не цепляет, он вызывает раздражение своей тупостью, прямотой и однообразностью.
    Графика, ну с ней можно было бы сжиться, если бы не было все так плохо, что описано выше.
    Мир, лор и тд: сборная солянка, граничащая с безумием, в которой с лука ты можешь ушатать пятиметрового робокопа эффективнее, чем с бластера. На весь лор 2 истории, описывающие что же все-таки произошло тут, и ту надо собирать по аудиозаписям, которые разбросаны рандомно по миру, то есть шанс того, что про лор ты так ничего и не узнаешь крайне велик.
    Повсеместные баги со всем (квесты, нпц, геодизайн, анимации, диалоги), лаги, отвратительный перевод. Вылеты после пары часов игры, 5 фпс на карте в пипбое (ps4 pro). Кривое управление.

    Спасибо ПБ, за то, что поставили точку в моих размышлениях "быть или не быть" вашей репутации для меня как фаната г1-2 и р1. Однозначно не быть, никогда более. Надеюсь, это последняя ваша потуга заработать денег под гимном "ну мы же маленькая студия, с нас взятки-гладки". Точка.

    Elex is a really really really dull and tedious "Gothic like" game, that is very very inferior to old Gothic games. Ironically its bad game on all fronts, except graphics: contrary to most reviewers graphics are quite good. Its a bad game no doubts about it and it won't be fixed by PB or fans ever, its beyond fixing. Game is worth maybe score of 4, but for PB game it is total ZERO trash.

    some people can't get the difference between challenging games vs. games with cheaply designed/clunky combat. dark souls is a challenging game with well designed combat mechanics, whereas elex and risen 2/3 are definitely not. adding useless companions or enemies with terrible AI doesn't help the combat quality either.    … Expand

    This game is plain awful. The voice acting sounds like it's from a 2005 game. The sound and animations are probably the worst I've ever seen in a game. Sometimes the music just disappears right in the middle of cutscenes.     This game looks like a cheap mod to Skyrim stylized on Fallout 4 and Mass Effect. I would not recommend this even to download, not to mention about the purchase.

    Having played this game for 20 hours, I find it silly that people are rating it a 10/10. You're worse than the casual gamers who give games 0's and 1's because it was too hard for them. You're not balancing anything out. You're misleading people into thinking that ELEX is a must-play, when it will really only satisfy a small niche', and you can't objectively say it's well-made even ifHaving played this game for 20 hours, I find it silly that people are rating it a 10/10. You're worse than the casual gamers who give games 0's and 1's because it was too hard for them. You're not balancing anything out. You're misleading people into thinking that ELEX is a must-play, when it will really only satisfy a small niche', and you can't objectively say it's well-made even if you love it. I hated Gothic 2 for the first 10 hours, but I remember suddenly getting strong and coming back to those places and killing everything and how satisfying that was. This game made me play for 20 hours trying to chase that G2 dragon.

    I reached a point where I decided that it simply wasn't worth it. The combat isn't just hard. Dark Souls is hard. This combat is cheap; it's buggy; it's not fun. You so-called hardcore gamers can pretend like it's cool to use cheap tactics like leading enemies toward friendlies or drinking potions every time you get hit by a low-level enemy, but it's not. It feels like old school A-Rpgs because old-school A-rpgs were always buggy. But you can't get away with games like this after Witcher 3. Not with Shadow of War available for a few bucks more.

    I respect that the devs only had a few dozen folks working on what is really a beautiful open-world game, but the same amount of developers worked on Divinity Original Sin 2, and it is one of the best RPGs ever released. If you played this game and you didn't skip every convo after 3 hours, I commend you. I couldn't bear to hear any of the characters deliver their phoned-in voice acting any longer. 99/100 NPCs in this game are boring, idiots, or a-holes. There were so many times when my AI companion just stood there while I got overwhelmed by 3 enemies that it was almost controller-smashing. Yeah, 3 enemies--because the enemy lock in this game is so stupid that you're fighting the camera as much as your foes, like every terrible 3rd person game ever.

    OK. Rant over. I feel better. Still going to go back into it when it gets patched and chase that Risen 2 dragon again, because I need to know who wins between the factions and the Albs and what the deal is with that Elex-sensing chick. Because like you so-called hardcore gamers, I am a masochist.    … Expand

    Terrible game, it's so boring and easy. The quests are cliche, the main character is an emotionless robot and the soundtrack is awful. One of the worst indie games i have ever played.

    Elex is een zeer grote teleurstelling en ik ben als fan van Gothic denken dat het het slechtste Piranha Bytes spel is. Het is onvoltooid, verouderd en niet speelbaar. Ik kan dit spel niet aanraden.

    If you know end of this game you know that developers just cutted story in half and now they plan to release Elex 2 with the rest of story. What a shame... I will not pay twice for the one game!!! 0/10.

    Elex is a hard game to genuinely recommend, it does so many important things to only an acceptable level or worse. It's a game that's carried based on the strength of its quest design, or more pessimistically, one that's let down by a general lack of polish and uninteresting combat. It feels like a nice refreshing counterpart to some modern rpgs that treat their quest lists more like chores, but as a complete package, it falls disappointingly short.

    A flawed jewel. Beneath its layers a sophisticated game is hidden, created with love yet with bugs and poor technical design. The game mechanics are the top, but they are nowadays detrimental. Whoever wants to find a treasure in Elex, must try very hard.

    Although dialogue writers were burning the midnight oil, the team responsible for combat was obviously slacking off and did nothing to really improve that mess of a close combat which ELEX inherited from Risen. Monster fights are as choppy, unnatural and buggy as ever, for example, enemies slide right up a steep slope if they happen to dodge in that direction. [Issue#225, p.68]
