    DFOG brings a very non-traditional experience to the table, but fuses it with many well known mmo aspects. The game features multiple classes (which in turn job advance into    Dungeon Fighter Online Global, an online, "beat-em-up" MMO is back once again, and better than ever. Under new management, this game comes back with years of content, a dedicated team, and a thriving community.

    DFOG brings a very non-traditional experience to the table, but fuses it with many well known mmo aspects.

    The game features multiple classes (which in turn job advance into 2-4 different classes, with the exception of Dark Knight and Creator), with each one bringing a fresh, new experience to the table. While there is little to no visual customization for your character's appearance, the game offers a very nuanced skill system.

    Players can mix and match skills, weaving their own combos and developing their own techniques to play their selected character. Later in the game, players can customize the skills themselves with passive bonuses, or more drastic changes through gear, and the TP system.

    On the topic of skills, pvp players will not have to worry about leveling through on a "pvp build' in this game, as pvp skill-sets are completely separate from pve skill-sets.

    While the game can be grindy towards the later levels (as many mmorpgs tend to be), the leveling curve is very smooth, slowly easing you into the slower leveling process. Leveling can't be done all day, due to the current fatigue system, so your chances of getting grind burn-out are fairly minimal.

    DFOG rewards the character for leveling up, granting the entire account certain bonuses based on how high your level is, and how many high leveled characters you have. This makes leveling feel even more rewarding, especially in the later levels. These bonuses include exp buffs to all characters, being able to summon your main, or alts, into combat, account vaults, stats, and much much more!~

    For first timers, this game can get to be very difficult even in the early game (and especially in the
    later game!). Just the tutorial bosses (Levels 1-16) can kill you in a measly two to four hits. This can be either a welcoming challenge, or a huge turn-off depending on the kind of gamer you are.

    In terms of balancing, everything is pretty balanced, with the exception of "Creator".

    At the time of writing this review, this game had no cash shop of any kind, and as such, I can't make a comment on that feature.    … Expand

    Great game, recently re-released for America under a new, much better, company. The game itself is very fun and plays like a mix between old school hack and slash arcade games and 2D fighting games with juggling and combos. The PVP is very competitive and balanced, much more so than any MMO I've played before.     Very good retro game. If you are looking for oldschool MMO game with many playable classes, really many! You will be shocked if you are playing first time like me. Every class have different skills.. Big population. I have only 30 and this game is the best for me for now.

    Ever since Neople took over DFO, the game has been on an upward spiral of awesome. At the time that I am writing this, It is in Open Beta Testing Part 1 and It still has some kinks to be worked out, but overall you get the feel of a different type of MMO. There aren't mob maps in between towns like other games, It is strictly a dungeon -based game.     One of the best games I've played in the longest time. And it came out in OPEN BETA now!!! Yeah~ I love the graphics, gameplay and the mechanics. Just outstanding and beautiful. You won't find a free to play game with so much good content. I recommend to anyone who loves button mashing and enjoy some 2.5D graphics!!!

    This is DFO released by the original Korean company after Nexon bombed its American release. It is so much better and has infinite SP resets so you don't have to worry about a messed up skill build. If I had to make my own MMO, which I've been thinking about since I was a kid, I would make something very similar to DFO. Action-packed, highly skill based, great PvP, and incredibly fun! There are so many characters too so if you get bored with one, make another! It's really an ideal game. In my opinion, it's much better than World of Warcraft, which is spend time to win.     It's a very enjoyable F2P game. When it was under Nexon NA, the game was littered with bots and hacks, and also very behind when it came to content patches. However, now under Neople, gold farmers are struggling to get a foothold, hackers aren't being tolerated, and the content gradually approaches the level of that in Korea. It's a very fun game for both the casual player and the hardcore player.

I started playing back in beta and there were many issues, so I had to quit for a while. my friends recently got me to return to check out the new character awakenings and dungeons. Many of the bugs that I saw in beta have been fixed, like the pvp and party lag. Even though this game gets pegged as a simple side scroller, arcadeDungeon Fighter Online surpassed my expectations by far. I stopped playing Halo, cause XBox 360 is 10 bucks a month now(!!!) and play DFO for f-r-e-e!     I played the game for a week and a half, and tried to participate in one of their special events. I was unabel to complete the event and claim my prize however because the required items would repeatedly vanish from my inventory each day without warning, were obtained    The game itself is very fun.     I played the game for a week and a half, and tried to participate in one of their special events. I was unabel to complete the event and claim my prize however because the required items would repeatedly vanish from my inventory each day without warning, were obtained ONLY by a daily repeatable quest, and 10 were required. Changing "channels" which grants an experience bonus for specific dungeons or logging out would remove the items from my inventory. Some items have an expiration date, but these items listed no date. They simply vanished. Even trying to stay logged in and avoid changing channels was not an option - the required item still vanished after 24hrs. Since according to everyone I spoke to this was abnormal, no online guides mentioned any disappearance of the items, and plenty of other peopel were walking about town with the reward, I filed a support ticket.

    On the support ticket page you can see its status which even goes so far as to indicate whether or not any staff member has read it yet. It was up for a week without being read, let alone responded to. The event ended. Even if someone from support answers the ticket now it will be to inform me the event is over with.

    There are no in game ways to contact a GM that I can find.

    Its really a shame, this is a very good game. Especially for one driven by micro transactions. And surprisingly you can have a lot of fun without resorting to the cash shop/item mall part of the design. 1 minor annoyance is that you aren't warned up front that PvP will be a requirement rather than an option. While you aren't outright forced to PvP you need points from it to buy gear in game, and to upgrade your class. Without participating in PvP your character will be disadvantaged stat wise. You can gain these points even if you lose, but who wants to grind out 400 losses if you aren't good at and don't like the PvP aspect of the game, not to mention the laughs you'll get at your crappy win/loss record that from what I can tell can't be hidden.

    I'm not really into PvP but still would have given this game a 9 out of 10 if Nexon were better at taking care of their customers. They really soured the game for me. Bugs like that should be found before launch, and support should have replied within 48 hours.    … Expand

There are four subclasses per character (excluding thief male mage which only have 2) but once you pick a subclass, you're that subclass and nothing else, there are no separate ''skill trees'' to choose from or anything like that. And there really isn't a ton of moves/skills either, I'd say only around 2 or 3 per every five levels which really isn't much and there is a ton of room for variety besides just choosing which skills to max out. Though the game can also be fun, it gets boring very fast playing alone so you better make sure you have someone to play with. This game isn't quite as grindy as other MMOs but the bad thing is that once you hit level 70, you're done, there's nothing else to do (except pvp or making a new character) because you've hit the level cap. I've made tons of new characters to try out other classes or simply because I became bored with the class I was using before. There are also avatars in the game which actually change your characters appearance but these require millions of gold and it's frustrating when the market goes from selling avatars at 1m-2m to 2m-10. You also may have a very hard time picking decent looking avatars (though I mean this mainly for female fighter since alot of her's are atrocious). This isn't a bad game but it's not without it's flaws, some glaring and some not so glaring.… Expand

I've heard great things about the Korean version though, so if you're willing to deal with the language barrier, download the Korean version, because this version is crap beyond the first 20 hours (although both are free).… Expand

Dungeon Fighter Online took a risk by releasing the game in US; knowing they will be up against other big MMO games on the market such as World of Warcraft, but they disregard the graphic and concentrated on the artwork which created this pure arcade fighting style (this is also what I am most impressed by the game). With 5 main classes (Slayer, Fighter, Gunner, Mage, and Priest) with multiple sub-classes under them, the game just created enough characters and classes for people to choose in preference to their playing style. Furthermore, it is impressive how the game was also able to distinguished each classes to make sure they all work in different ways with their own advantages and disadvantages. Despite the fact many complaints this made the game in pvp unbalanced, the characters actually balanced each other out and you could win depending on how well you can use your character. As far as competition goes, even though some characters should be fixed and restricted like what they have already done to the Summoners, everyone has a chance to whack out your opponent depending on how well you could execute and utilize your character's skills. There are of course some "cheap classes," such as mechanics and summoners who could easily spam robots/monsters; however, this is fine because it is a good way to introduce arcade fighting game to younger audience who are in this generation where there are just not enough good old classic beat 'em up arcade games. Whereas there are other classes that are much more difficult to use, but they are unpopular to most users so it is good to have those "n00b friendly" classes out (plus, they are extremely fun to play with when you want a break from competition and when you feel the dungeon is getting repetitive). The class system is one of the main highlights to this game. You can graduate to a sub class, then graduate again to specialize that specialization. Simply put, you can play as over 35Ah, Nexon, the king of all that is F2P MMORPGS. Dungeon Fighter is a very unique 2D beat em up fighting game that looks a lot like street fighter, but with 3D movement mechanics and very indepth classes. The class system is one of the main highlights to this game. You can graduate to a sub class, then graduate again to specialize that specialization. Simply put, you can play as over 35 classes in this game- all of which are completely unique and well thought out. The artwork is beautiful and the combat system is fluid and amazing. PvP could use some rebalancing issues, but that is always present in any fighting game. Currently, this game is on a dead run, meaning they haven't recieved content for awhile.     I recently started playing this game on Steam. It is a 2.5D side scrolling beat em up game with MMO elements. You can level your character and get new skills to make them even stronger. Each character class has a unique focus that makes them different from the other and they have sub-classes that you get quite early on at level 15 which transforms some of your skills into different ones.I recently started playing this game on Steam. At level 45 and 75, you can get Awakenings that unlock even more powerful abilities.

    The problem with the game ultimately comes from its hard focus on the fatigue system and the daily limits that other MMOs have. The game manages to avoid grinding through level 86 (the current cap), but it suffers heavily in the end game. It takes months to farm items because of multiple currencies needed to actually play. Gold is pretty much useless outside of a few quests and weapon upgrades. This has led to insane prices for a lot of items. You already have fatigue, which limits the number of rooms you can enter each day (you can pay for Neo Premium Plus to nearly double the amount). You then need Demon Invitations to play on the hardest difficulty so that you can hopefully get some unique items you can dismantle. Then, there's Daily Quests that reward specific types of currencies. The result is far more currencies than you can keep track of and an insane grind for end game items. If you can't play every day, then the grind becomes even worse.    … Expand

    DFO is a great game , running dungeons is fun and PvP is fun. It keeps gameplay fresh, which is rare with MMOs, partly because the beat em up gameplay is skill based and hard to master.

    I love this game. This game is one of the best arcade style game. If you only played Nexon DFO, I highly recommend you to come back. It is FREE as well.

    Amazing game now that it's out again. It's very addicting and I've been playing for a long time. As an RPG fan, this one is my favourite. I don't know why you're reading this instead of playing.

    The game is now more enjoyable, more contents, and Neople is doing better to this game ever since the global release. It is now much easier to achieve the maximum level with the help of scenario dungeon quests and also the equipment are given for free (in the scenario quest) to ensure the character gets the most updated equipment based on your character level. As for anyone who gone all the way to lvl 85-86, their grind starts there: Grind the Armors/equipment set in order to overtake the Raid dungeon (It is really not easy unless fully/properly geared).
    The story is very nice bits of the game of how the changes from before and after the devastating disaster. The only important plots are suggested at lvl 46 area, lvl 70 area, and of course lvl 85. Please read them all u want, or skip all you want, but the ones I mentioned, you should give it some time and read. I ain't forcing nobody to read about.
    I do recommend to all players to give it a go. who have enjoyed the retro 2D hack-and-slash game, plus it's FREE. Also you got to check dat *** of Thief's ***. (hint: 2nd awakening)    … Expand

    My first experience with DFO was sad to say met with disappointment as there was severe lag and the disconnect between combos made it terribly unsatisfying. However the new server and publisher makes good to keep everything running smoothly.

    Overall, Nexon has developed, in my opinion, a very successful game in Dungeon Fighter Online. While it's not a traditional take on the MMORPG, and more of an MMO-ARPG, allowing players a massive array of choices all throughout the game, from class, to specialization, even having a specific type of gear to change appearance, only adds to the unique feel of each character within the world.

    Though not as slick or elegant as the classics it emulates, Dungeon Fighter Online is absolutely worth downloading, even if you only drop in for half an hour a day. The game’s cash shop items are certainly useful, but you’ll never have to spend a penny on DFO. Call a friend, smash some goblins, unlock new 2D fighting skills.
