At first glance, this appears to be a game with a clear and confident vision, but playing it for a period of time reveals how much it's split between underdeveloped mechanics. [Issue#420, p.100]

DuneCrawl is an interesting game that blends together giant crab combat, dungeoneering and multiplayer shenanigans. It's fun enough, but I really wish it did a little bit more with the more unusual aspects of its game design.

DuneCrawl is an exceptional open-world exploration game that allows players to indulge in the fantasy of piloting giant crab war machines. While lacking a bit in exciting progression mechanics and harder to engage with as a solo player, this game is otherwise solid all around and has an incredible fantasy world and visual aesthetic.

DuneCrawl is an ambitious indie with a striking concept and stylish presentation, but it struggles to stay engaging due to repetitive gameplay and uneven execution. The chaotic co-op shines when played with a full group of friends, yet solo or duo play quickly exposes sluggish AI and design friction. At its price point it’s a fair deal, but only if you can convince others to join the crawl.
