    Dune 2000 was one of my favourite strategies back in time when I was still little. I do not know why, but there should be a PS version too, as I mainly played it on PS

    Poorly received at the time.. i picked this game up as a kid with little to compare to and loved it. It holds up alot better than dune 2 - its revolutionary inspiration but plays more like CnC or Red Alert 1 re-skinned.
    It's a solid RTS but was never truly balanced properly. It also released in a golden era of RTS games.. starcraft, TA, red alert 2. Which are all better titles    Poorly received at the time.. i picked this game up as a kid with little to compare to and loved it.     Dune 2000 was I think my first strategy games. It was amazing and fun!! I watched the movies and Even yes READ the book because the game was so fun. Being such an old rts it has its downsides but comon it was from the 90's

    This game was ahead of its time and its definitely a masterpiece. The music, the 3 factions and their own unique things. Everything about this game felt so cool. I cant believe this game is so old, I will never forget this game.

    One of the best games ever. This created the entire gengre. You choose one of the 3 houses, get quests and fight it out on the dunes of arakus. The one knock is that is was done is DOS so it won't run on today's windows machines without a patch. You can get those on the internet.

    I was a big fan of Dune 2: The battle for Arrakis and was disappointed with Dune 2000. Do not get me wrong Dune 2000 was an ok game, but for me that is all it was. Because of the way the units looked and the music/sounds. Also, the visual explosions/unit range/stats I was not happy with. If you ever find the time to play Dune 2 the battle for arrackis you would know what i mean.

    Dune 2000 certainly got me interested in the Dune universe. While not a great as Emperor: Battle for Dune, this game stood on its own and had so many wonderful ideas going for it. Using walls, pavement, airlifts for harvesters, starports and worms gave it its own character compared to C&C and Red Alert. The story was very good, and enjoyable. The gameplay, while not as refined as TiberianDune 2000 certainly got me interested in the Dune universe. While not a great as Emperor: Battle for Dune, this game stood on its own and had so many wonderful ideas going for it. Using walls, pavement, airlifts for harvesters, starports and worms gave it its own character compared to C&C and Red Alert. The story was very good, and enjoyable. The gameplay, while not as refined as Tiberian Sun, was still fun and immersive. Luckily, water isn't a resource in this game, despite being super important in the books and movies.… Expand

    I started playing Dune from the very first game. Then Dune 2 came out and and the modern day RTS game was born. So when Dune 2000 was announced I got really excited. Once released I was in love. The game did not disappoint at all. While it did take a little bit away from the original, it also added allot. I couldn't have been happier. Granted it's just Dune 2 remade using the Command &I started playing Dune from the very first game. Then Dune 2 came out and and the modern day RTS game was born. So when Dune 2000 was announced I got really excited. Once released I was in love. The game did not disappoint at all. While it did take a little bit away from the original, it also added allot. I couldn't have been happier. Granted it's just Dune 2 remade using the Command & Conquer engine, but that's not a bad thing. Regardless of the criticism it got I love it!… Expand

    Like some others already have pointed out, Dune really was ahead of its time. Togeher with AoE, Starcraft and C&C, probably the RTS game that had the greatest influence on the genre as a whole. I went back and tried Dune2000 the other day, and still found it enjoyable (which was a bit surprising since both the early AoEs and C&Cs nowadays almost feel painfully frustrating to play).

    If I review as an old gamer remembering my first impressions in 2000. Pros.: - Dune theme. - Music. - Factions and their bonus units. - Cut scenes and aesthetics. - Variety of missions. Cons.: - Difficulty. - Harkonnen + Emperor are too hard to play. - Ordos saboteur is too hard. If I review based on my current experience. Pros.: - Dune theme. - Funny cut    Legend.

    - Funny cut scenes. Yet, not very necessary.
    - Flexible game missions.
    - Super weapons and unique units are intriguing but do not heavily affect tactics.
    - Medium or easy to finish a campaign in a week.
    - Music is still stunning.

    Cons.:
    - AI is too dumb.
    - Unit movement abilities are too primitive. You click to move somewhere, and they go back because they "stuck."
    - Stupid concrete building necessity.
    - Why no option to build multiple units?
    - Special weapons... Well... Could be more to be honest.

    Overall: the game feels outdated now. It requires HD modification and some tweaks on AI and building functioning.    … Expand

    One of the first RTS games I played..
    Enjoyed every bit of it and it's all thanks to my cousin who let me borrow that Disc, I still have it somewhere..

    You can play this game at snail speed or super-fast, there is nothing in-between. No idea why there's even slider for game speed when it barely even works.

    Other than that, mediocre. This game was not created with the Red Alert engine, and it's not the first Dune RTS game. Nearly every C&C or Dune game is better than this. Has great music and cut scenes though.

    Good game, but the graphics improvement is not enough to approach the classic dune II
