Dual Snake is a weird game, and that is a good thing.

I've never written a review before, so I do apologize for my lack of ability in expressing myself. I found this game a couple of days ago on a Steam discovery queue, it was recommended to me because of other puzzle games that I've played, like "MonteCrypto" and "Papers, Please", to name some. I was skeptic after watching the trailer and looking over the screenshots, and the price (8 US dollars) held me back as well, but now I see how glad I am to have given it a shot.

Dual Snake strives not at the artistic side. The graphics do their job, but are blend and don't stand out. The music is creative and well written, beautiful and sad at times, but loses its charm due to repetition. Dual Snake strives at the very creative gameplay, the way simple and overused mechanics just shine as they work together, creating a different atmosphere to the puzzle game.

You control a snake with two heads using both WASD and the arrow keys. This will mess with your conceptions of space and movement, and you'll fall to your death time after time. The game has 110 levels that are carefully crafted to make you think, and to challenge you to beat it on its own game. You'll find yourself in many situations where the solution is obvious, but your fingers just won't obey your head.

This is a must play game for any puzzle lover, and a lot of fun for the casual gamer. It has an interesting hidden story behind the simple "level after level" mindset, and, if you are into this kind of stuff, a Level Editor mode where you can create your own levels, or play the ones made by other people.

If Dual Snake was a tiny bit cheaper, had more contrasted and colorful graphics, and maybe a couple more good songs to break the repetitive rhythm they eventually fall into, this 7/10 would've been a 9/10.
