    Michael Mann-ish story about an undercover cop is brilliant however the free roaming of real cities with fun mechanics is the best! Coulda used more time in the oven but still a classic!

    I was so hyped about this game after the success of Driver 1 and 2. But what a letdown. It did not felt like a driver game anymore. They made this look like another GTA clone, but worse in every possible way. Only cutscenes were amazing though.

    I don't know why people are saying that driv3r is bad. It isn't. Thisbis probably one of the best games i have ever played but i give a 8 because it deserves. Great Story, Great Soundtrack, Great maps. Sadly the game was released unfinished so it has many bugs. I would give this game a 9 but i give a 8 because of the bugs that ruin the gameplay.

    The game is not that bad as people make it out to be. Sure, the graphics look outdated, but who cares? The only thing I would call awful about this game are the bugs, that I've encountered while playing it and that it's not optimized well enough and runs slow even on modern pc.     Awful and buggy graphics awful and weird physics
    Despite it's got an interesting story and continues the first two games' story it still can't be playable

    I don't get why everyone is upset on this game. i played all the games in the series and i love this one the most. It's true that the control isn't amazing, but i love the stories and the cinematics are awsome... it reminds me a bit of max payne's noir touch. I lke this game and i give it an 8.

    Although crappy graphics, choppy gameplay and bugs abound, it si still fun as the car handle great with spectacular crashes not worth $50 tho, maybe $30.

    This is not GTA nor it should be. I hate open world and side missions. This game has none of that. This is a true loveletter to the first 2 games with the same beautiful physics and slightly better graphics. I can see how it looked dated in 2004, but today it's absolutely amazing.     It is only a joke I think! The graphics are extremely bad. The controlling is much worse. The main menu is a big crap. The whole game is very boring. It's a big bull crap, don't buy it.

    The driving in the game is acceptable, slightly arcade-y (if that is the word) but its fine , its the city that is your biggest enemy i when i say city i mean lampposts and trees, they are designed to make your life miserable and every mission is either you chasing someone or someone is chasing    This has to be one of the worst games ever made, the words cannot describe how bad the game is.

    i revisited the game for nostalgia and it backfired........big time.

    A 3 for Driver no 3. Was inferior to GTA in every way imaginable. But, all the flaws on the technical side would mean nothing if the game was any fun... which it wasn't. Shame, first two are classics...

    It has the best opening in gaming history. It has good gameplay inside cars, but mediocre gameplay outside of them.
    It's not perfect, but honestly **** it, I love this game.

    This isin't the best game, but it has something inside that keeps you playing this game until it's over. Game world are beautifull and venchicles are very great. The best two things are Cinematics and Soundtrack. I bought this game music CD and it was awesome. Play and simply enjoy it. This game isn't perfect but has a spirit.

    Could've been a big hit in 1994. I think todays rendering applications are faster (and more fun) than this game.

    This game deserves to be universally panned. I LOVED driver 1 on the PC and similar titles such as GTA3:VC but this is a joke. It is the worst possible example of a conversion. The graphics are awful and look nothing like the screenshots on the site. It runs dog slow. It needs a vertex shader (ie GF4MX NOT COMPATIBLE) but looks like a software rendered game. The worst criticism, however, This game deserves to be universally panned. I LOVED driver 1 on the PC and similar titles such as GTA3:VC but this is a joke. There is a 30-40% deadzone on joysticks / wheels which is not changeable. This game is utterly unplayable with analogue joysticks / steering wheels and DOES NOT SUPPORT digital pads. meaning car control is keyboard only. The on-foot controls do allow mouse but the mouse sensitivity setting seems to be ineffectual. Even on "0" sensitivity mouselook is too sensitive. Whilst mouselook is activated by default, LMB is not bound by default and must be manually set (eg to fire weapon). There is NO force feedback, but the setup has a setting for "rumble" which DOES NOT EXIST on PCs. These things are possibly fixable with a patch but seeing as the PS2 version came out in June 2004, I cannot see how they wasted an extra 9 months and STILL got the QA process so horribly wrong.… Expand

    The game just simply sucks.. The Graphicengine is taken from driver 1 (stright) and it really sucks and i DONT recommend it do anybody!

    I gave this game a 3 because i got it for free and still feel like being ripped off. Well, now i've just wasted some hours i would've wasted on something else anyway. Peace to all, and for the responsible of Driver3, rest in pieces.

    A very ambitious game, tarnished by a greedy publisher. Watch Larry Bundy's Driv3r Gate video, to be in the know on that. Otherwise, of the first three Driver games, this one's the most enjoyable for me. Be a cop, be a criminal, take part in car chases and shoot things. It has its fair share of bugs, but it's still playable.

    Very stiff and repetitive gameplay. Some sections also had extraordinary difficulty level, but I did complete it in full.

    Almost all of the much-touted style evaporates as soon as the introductory movie is over and we're met with stiff animation, blurry textures, popping geometry, a dated engine, underwhelming vehicle sound, a stale world, kryptonite light poles, bouncing parked cars, forgettable on-foot action and only passable vehicular dynamics.

    The driving physics are pulled from "Carmageddon 2," the on-foot control is pulled from "Ultima Underworld," the driving was pulled from the Sega Genesis version of "OutRun." There is a reason why all the games I’ve listed are five, ten, fifteen years old. . .because Driv3r plays like a game from a past generation.
