Terrible game, terrible shoot mechanics. My head gets hot playing it. I don't recommend this game for people who like brand new 2010s 3D games with high quality textures and actual realism. 1/10

It would be wrong to say that there is any story in the game I did not feel a story while playing, sometimes we are faced with a problem such as being stuck among monsters, which already leads directly to death,If you complete a section and exit the game when you save, you continue with whatever weapon and how many bullets you have last, but if you start again, you are playing with the gunIt would be wrong to say that there is any story in the game I did not feel a story while playing, sometimes we are faced with a problem such as being stuck among monsters, which already leads directly to death,If you complete a section and exit the game when you save, you continue with whatever weapon and how many bullets you have last, but if you start again, you are playing with the gun and bullet that the game has suited you, this place seemed a little wrong to me when i was playing. Apart from these, a non-stop action game is definitely played in your free time. Expand

Too often do Doom's confusing level designs got in the way of its high-octane combat.

I like classic games, a lot. And this is a good one. Not perfect, a bit repetitive at the end, but the music, the scenarios and the brillant game design will make you enjoy it, no matter the year... how many games can say that?

Even three decades later that game still rocks! It just feels good, sounds good and makes you feel badass.

One of my favorite games of all time, and one of few games I always come back to since I first played it more than 20 years ago.

    10 out of 10 - it's a classic and a masterpiece.

don't like those 90's doom but I'm giving it a 10 for the incredible work of the mods (DOOM BRUTALITY v20) it was "as violent as doom 2016"

Doom.. The original 1993 version. Depending on what your playing on these things i will talk about can vary, if your a casual gamer your gonna look for "Gzdoom tutorial" because this review is talking about the expirence on the gzdoom launcher which has better visuals options and other things (steam too).
Okay so I nearly had no problems with this game on gzdoom if your playing on dosbox

Okay so I nearly had no problems with this game on gzdoom if your playing on dosbox or steam i reccomend switching. The game has alot of source ports gzdoom zdoom chocolatedoom dosbox but im on gzdoom. The amount of options is crazy but it took a few days till i knew what i was doing when handling mods. Mod support is great you can mod alot of things in this from little demon changes to an entire different game (such as wolfenstien blade of agony doom II mod) I played most of my mods on doom II 1993 with sorce ports doom and doom 2 are basically sorta the same thing,I saw somebody in the reviews complaining about pistol starts and such but yknow its 1993 and your probably playing on some crappy launcher. why im not rating the game 10/10 is the setup you have to do and learning so you can have a better expierence.. The main game i liked it was a bit of a challenge at parts and i enjoyed the cyberdemon fight... The final doom wads i got off internet archive have the plutonia experiment and tnt evilution. if you want something way harder with traps tricky ledges and alot of revenants try plutonia but if you just want more casual doom gaming go evilution. the base game
The base games pretty neat for 1993 after wolf 3-D although the visuals on dosbox the original SUCK AHH the new ones look pretty shiny and you have further vision without the demons getting blurred because of lame field of view and res and stuff. the same person about the pistol start said there isnt much story. But i belive there is. The immersive maps and the detailed text speeches after i played the few chapters really gave me feels esspecially after knee deep in the deads ending after the baron fight. Although there is a bit of story i dont feel the need to check the spoiler box. The pc version is extremely better than the other releases its supposed to be played on pc. In some cases the xbox 360 version has a secret level with a secret switch some sorces dont have that and make you restart the level or in some cases even the entire episode! The monster roster is pretty big 1993 standards with the game 3d-ish maps 10 different demons placed strattegically so you dont feel like theres little demon roster. Easter eggs were only 2 in the second doom installment which isnt on metacritic yet i belive. First one is where jhon romeros head (level designer) is inside the final bosses exposed brain the backwards talk that the final boss the icon of sin says read backwards says "To win the game you must defeat me! Jhon Romero!" or something like that look it up. I like how the game spawns more or lesser harder easier demons depending on what difficulty your playing here:
Im too young to die! (easiest)
    Hey not too rough (easy)
    Hurt me plently! (medium)
    Ultra-violence!(Hard)
    Nightmare (Extremely hard/joke mode)
    and in newer doom games
Ultra Nightmare! (new doom hardest difficulty)
Overall Doom is a poggers game and i will continue to doom on goodbye fellow gamers

As a game that has been released for 30 years, it has interesting graphics and stage design, and today's young players can also enjoy it.

After 30 years of first-person shooter games and the evolution that came with it, DOOM still betters most of the modern FPS names. This game truly deserves the "genre definer" title.

An absolute classic. Metal music (kinda), fast pace shooting, great level design and atmosphere, good enough variety of weapons, fun multiplayer mode and finally. YOU ARE A SPACE MARINE THAT'S SLUGHTERING DEMONS FROM SATAN'S BALLSHACK INSIDE SCIENCE LABORATORIES IN MOONS OF **** MARS.

Deep into the code is a banger.

Title: A Legendary Masterpiece: DOOM (1993) - A Milestone for PC

Since its release in 1993, DOOM has been recognized as one of the most iconic and influential games in the gaming world. This unique game that emerged on the PC platform not only shaped the gaming industry but also left a profound impact on gaming as a whole. Here's a positive review explaining why:

DOOM didn't just shape the first-person shooter genre, it also pushed the boundaries of technological limitations of its time, adding a new dimension to the gaming world. Its graphics were beyond the standards of the era and created a chilling, suspenseful atmosphere that immersed players into DOOM's dark world.

The variety of weapons and difficulty levels of enemies added to the gameplay's appeal, enhancing its strategic depth and playability. With its fast-paced action and seamless movement, DOOM felt like a dance, keeping players constantly engaged and entertained.

Additionally, DOOM made a significant impact with its multiplayer Deathmatch mode. This mode allowed friends to play together locally or connect with other players online, blending competitive and social aspects. DOOM's multiplayer mode laid the groundwork for many subsequent multiplayer shooter games.

The game's music also provided an unforgettable experience. The heavy metal soundtrack perfectly complemented the horror and suspense atmosphere, adding another layer to the emotional connection players formed with the game.

In conclusion, DOOM (1993) is not just a game; it's a masterpiece that has shaped the evolution of the gaming industry. Despite the technological limitations of its time, it surpassed the boundaries of its era on the PC platform and achieved many firsts. The game's fast-paced action, immersive atmosphere, multiplayer mode, and unforgettable music continue to make it worth playing even today. DOOM remains one of the greatest games of all time, forming a cornerstone of PC gaming.
