    Probably one of the worse looking games I've ever seen, especially taking in account that it is supposed to be in development for 9 years. People that positively reviewed this can be either mental or friends with the developers, one look at this game in 2018 and its 20 bucks price makes me wonder what on earth was going through this team's minds.     This is one of those games, that you will love or you will hate it. There is nothing out there like Distortions.

    Beautiful, a masterpiece game that you need to be open minded about it, the game try to experiment a lot of new things related with the media.

    Сюжет: Будем играть за прелестную девушку, которая теряет память. Она переносится в удивительное место - в «ИСКАЖЕНИЯ» с двумя разными мирами, называемыми «Долиной Искажений» и «Белый миром».    «Distortions»
    Сюрреалистическое приключение. Вместе с главной героиней мы отправляемся в путешествие по изумительно прекрасному и удивительному миру сплетения реальности, фантазии и воспоминаний.

    Сюжет:
    Будем играть за прелестную девушку, которая теряет память. Она переносится в удивительное место - в «ИСКАЖЕНИЯ» с двумя разными мирами, называемыми «Долиной Искажений» и «Белый миром». На протяжении всей игры она постоянно будет перемещаться между этими двумя мирами.

    В этом сказочном месте ее путеводителем будет журнал, а музыка – оружием и ключом! Разгадывая загадки из журнала и соединяя фрагменты головоломки она шаг за шагом восстановит свое прошлое.
    Используя скрипку, она будет способна изменить окружающее. Своей музыкой она сможет создавать мосты, взрывы, барьеры, становится невидимой, двигать огромные глыбы и даже подружиться с необычными существами долины! Вдохновением для создания механики игры на скрипке были такие известные шедевры, как «The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time», «Loom», «Guitar Hero».

    Геймплей:
    Геймплей поделили на несколько частей. Часть времени нам предстоит линейное прохождение по сюжету. Вас запирают в большом пространстве, но выход только один. Обежав всю локацию девушка все равно придет к единственному проходу. Если вы пытаетесь пройти дальше без необходимых предметов, игра вам будет выдавать надпись, что это неверный путь.
    После того, как вы пройдете пролог, вам откроется большой мир с возможностью решать самим, куда идти в первую очередь. Тут будет несколько подземелий и заданий. Затем игра будет чередовать линейный геймплей с выбором.

    Вид камеры постоянно будет меняться в зависимости от текущей локации. В некоторых местах камерой можно свободно управлять мышью, в других – она фиксированная. На некоторых экранах камера принимает боковой вид, а на некоторых мы видим девушку со спины. Иногда перспектива может сменится так, чтобы было видно линейный путь, куда направляет вас игра.

    В «Distortions» множество внутри игровых роликов, которые мастерски встроены в геймплей. Разобраться где заканчивается геймплей и начинается ролик почти невозможно. Это создает эффект погружения в историю, тут не придется скучать за просмотром или искать кнопку для прокрутки видео вставок. Все идеально подогнано в единое целое, создает великолепную интерактивную историю.

    Великолепная игра с изумительно прекрасным миром, чудесной музыкой, глубоким сюжетом и уникальным геймплеем. Всем ценителям прекрасного рекомендую в коллекцию.    … Expand

    A really mixed bag. The overall story of the Girl facing her psychological demons and overcoming the traumatic experiences that stranded her in this fantasy dreamworld is interesting and well handled, and I really liked the idea of using the violin as a kind of magical totem to transform and manipulate the world. The switches between perspectives and moments of introspection point to a sensitive appreciation of the deeper emotional resonances of Distortion’s narrative, but it just isn’t that fun to play. Dated and unresponsive controls, needlessly obscure exploration, and frustratingly unpredictable enemy encounters mean that it almost works better as a Let’s Play watch than it does as a game.

    There are mechanical as well as technical flaws. But in its good moments Distortions delivers a strangely bizarre action adventure like no other.

    The atmosphere, the music and the premise are all bristling with promise. The world you wander through is heartbreaking and surreal. The music follows you out of the game, snapping you awake at night, wondering where that guitar riff is coming from. But the mechanics under the hood are deeply flawed. Beyond the startling rigidity of your avatar and the janky controls, the game feel is all off. My computer, a perfectly respectable beast, had a hard time with this game.
