And I am surprised, or actually puzzled... I am not quite sure why so many people downrate the game for the store and the player having to buy pretty much everything. Not that I am DEFENDING it, it's just... when I first saw Infinity figures at the store, I read about it, and learnt that the BASIC IDEA is to buy those figures so you could use them in your game (and have the figures on your shelf, I guess). That's what I heard the game was based on.
So I was surprised people complain about just THAT. However, is the F2P-thing a lie? Kinda, but not entirely. You CAN play the game and unlock some stuff for your toybox, you can do the daily challenges and dabble around with a very very basic toybox (the building-area). In order to do so, you can use three characters that are available for trying. The three available ones are switched every week, AFAIK. When I tried it, I was able to play Olaf, Asokah and Hulkbuster.
I then went on Ebay and searched for Infinity webcodes (the code the figures come with. You can type them into the store in game and unlock the respective character). For 1 EUR, I was able to buy Luke Skywalker (be careful! Some of the guys sell codes for a EUR or two, but ask for like 11 EUR shipping cost, which is silly, as they can just email you the code).
Now, what is the game like? It's fun! It ofc is aimed at younger players, and is totally safe to be played by your child... it's kinda cute, and has a mix of jumping, running, climbing, melee and ranged combat (each character has unique abilities, and you can unlock more).
It's not terribly challenging, but IMO, it's made with some love for the franchises (Disney/Marvel/Star Wars). It has references to all those movies and characters, a great soundtrack (of course it does, as they can use the soundtrack from, like, the SW movies), and you will find a lot of very familiar characters.
Of course, it's a matter of taste whether you like the graphics, whether you like to play jump and run in some Alladin-area with a SW-character, etc
IMO, this is a fun casual game. Of course, you have to invest some money to unlock stories and characters, but even if you don't, you can use the trial-characters and check out demos of the stories, the toybox and the daily mission.
And yes, there is a STRONG focus on microtransactions, but what do people expect, it's the basic idea of the Infinity-system.
If you are looking for a nice, casual, simple action/jump/combat-game with tons of Disney-flavor, check it out.… Expand
