    hearing its not RPG makes me wonder some people know what a Role -playing is? Disco is not just an rpg, its of of the best of all times, because here you not just build your character before you play, you grow into him thru the whole game, with literally everything you do or think. and while the story outside the main hero is trying to live its own life, and is a line in this    Fantastic!

    Incredible achievement in interactive storytelling, proving games can truly be art. A perfect crpg and game, giving incredible amount of choice.
    The world is very haunting and story very personal.
    It would be an equivalent of reading an amazing book, and arguably even better than that.

    This game defies the conventions of traditional crpg design and is the best written game possibly of all time. The journey Disco Elysium takes you on will make you cry, laugh, introspect and think about your own choices in life. Do yourselves a favor and play this masterpiece.

    Disco Elysium captivated me from the moment it started. it's a very deep game in how it play and the options it gives you. I like the fact that while you have options to do things that would seem "objectively" good they're still warped by the twisted perspective of reality your character has.

    The voice-acting is amazing. every feeling, every thought is voiced and has its own personality. it's amazingly done. the music accompanies you with beautiful and haunting melodies throughout and it is etched in my mind alongside some of the voices I heard during my playthrough.

    This game stirred some questions and reflections in me like no other. I absolutely love this game and think it's one of the best RP games to have been made.

    For me it supposed a revolution to the genre. Brilliant story. If you like narrative driven games this is a must have. Also has a nice voice acting.

    No me esperaba encontrarme esta maravilla al empezar a jugarlo. Muy disfrutable, aunque me ha fallado un poco la música, el desenlace del crimen y el final.

    Los textos son increíbles y, las opciones de juego, tremendas.

    The best RPG game ever. Final Cut is absolute amazing. This is more an interactive and fascinating book with amazing voice actors, art style and music, than a classical game. Love it!

    10 de 10. No creo que vaya a encontrar algo similar a esto. Sin combates, con un buen diseño y unos personajes muy dispares donde tienes que crear la personalidad del personaje desde cero y que hará que esto influya en las decisiones y en las opciones.

    When I played it game I felt as if Planescape : Torment was resurected in late 2010s ... excellent feeling; too bad that there are no more games like that around there in the world. It gives a lot of intellectually interesting choices, while having original setting and kind of mysterious promise to the player that wants to immerse in that title. A must play !

    To start, I wanted to say that typically I am not a fan of these types of games at all. This game had a bit of a slow warmup, but after a couple hours, I was truly hooked and immersed into the world. I think that is part of the game, because you start the game as a character that has no memory of the past. It’s an open world game where the immersion doesn’t come from the world itself, but from the relationships between the characters. This game gives you the closest experience any form of media has ever provided in taking on the role of a detective trying to solve a case. The acclaim this game has received for its writing is completely warranted, especially because the dialogue is not only with other characters, but its your character's thoughts as well. It really does some cool things that make you understand the psyche of the character as well. I went into this game somewhat hesitantly, but I am honestly blown away at how good it is. It takes a few mental adjustments from you, because its not like many other games, but once you get passed those, its a great experience. The greatest downfall of the game to me was the sometimes overly complex political storyline, it got to the point where I would completely disinterested. The other major issue with this game is that it’s just such a slow burn over the course of a very long time that it’s hard to finish it. I ended up stopping around 20 hours, it’s just too much content, but I enjoyed it while it lasted, I will likely return to it.… Expand

    My favorite RPG of all time. The game has an enthralling atmosphere with a very distinct visual style.     Wonderful, funny, profound, weird, bizarre, blunt, intense, and peaceful - all at the same time. The game captivates with its diverse cast of characters, political complexities and a unique art style.

    Don't look at any score. Numbers can't describe how unique this game is. Someone will love, someone won't understand. Someone will hate. For me this one will stay as one of the best games i've ever played.

    I enjoyed this game a lot. You can tell the devs were inspired by Planescape: Torment. Disco Elysium has no combat, though, so it looks like a CRPG but plays more like a point and click adventure.

    You can't explain what is Disco Elysium in 500 characters. The game takes place in a rather small place, yet the conversations expand the world so much you know, there is a whole world arround you without stepping in on it. Voice actors are good, the story is so mundane (In the best possible way), and every character is carefully crafted.     It is one of the most unique games I ever played, one of the best too. If you like videogames and enjoy reading or listening to books this is *the* game for you. The story is great, the setting is amazing, characters are well written, the gameplay made me forget who I am. I wish more people knew about this game.

But the more you play, the more you will feel attached to the main character and his partner, as well as to the rest of the characters. And the most important thing is that you will feel this similarity with your character in almost everything. The story is created so that you create your character literally from scratch, complementing his human qualities in parts, and the more you do this, the more you create yourself, especially during the first passage of the game. It's just great!

    But, as in any game, Disco Elysium has its drawbacks. For people who find it difficult to perceive such a large amount of text, and the game consists of text and voice acting, it will be very difficult for such people to play and have to pause, and a very measured and slow gameplay is not suitable for everyone. In addition, despite the apparent variability and the RPG prefix, you can lose this fine line by playing similar games of this genre.     The RPG elements are a bit BS at times, and I wish the dialogue was a bit more "closed" so the character of Harry could be more consistent throughout the game. There were times other characters pointed traits about my character that I wasn't even aiming for, which disconnect me for a bit. But it was very rare.

    The world is beautiful. With the sheer amount of characters and dialogue, you would expect to forget some and get bored at some point. And i never did. Everyone stands out and complements each other at the same time.

    It's amazing writing, and thought provoking. Def one of my favorites of all time.

    Por ser um jogo indie eh excepcional, e apesar da historia nao ter me prendido, da pra perceber o capricho dos devs no produto final.

Very well written character backgrounds, rich selection of dialogues fruitful character attribute/character selection. Art design and game visuals give you fine vibe about the the world you are living in. Very few technical problems during my experience.
    I stuck on the game on my first play-through and game itself can be sometimes not so idiot-proof. Also replaying it second time was not so excited as I was expecting. When you consider the game itself has one big mystery to built on. Maybe it is better to be checked after some given time.    … Expand

The game isn't a book though, it uses the decisions you make and the way you engage with the world in a way that actually fits with games. It's a game that feels extremely real and reactive. Revachol is so well realized and so well presented that it feels almost real. The weight of its history hangs heavy over the story and characters. The Streets skill is mandatory IMO. The writing is clearly the star of the show, the vivid imagery and attention to detail make you feel like youre in war-torn Revachol. No matter where you go or who you talk to in Revachol, whether it be the fishing village, the harbor, or the whirl-in-rags, you can feel the tension and the toll the revolution has taken. The pacing is also amazing; despite the game taking place on a relatively small map, new sections or characters are introduced at just the right times. I also loved how the dialogue checks were based on probability, so no matter what you decided to put your skill points in to you always had a chance of succeeding. Overall, this is a very special game and I will be replaying it multiple times over the course of my lifetime.… Expand

    A murder mystery set in a rich, fictional setting, Disco Elysium is told with sweeping profundity and hilarious absurdity. With no combat to impede story progression, this is a choice-driven role-playing adventure that deftly raises the bar of quality for the medium.

    Disco Elysium is a very special RPG that most of your time will be spent on reading. It features a well-written detective story, various tricky skill trees, and memorable characters. This game might be the best one of its kind. But if you can't stand reading for a long time, just don't try it.

    Unconventionally conceived adventure game with excellent visuals and world worked out to the smallest detail. But it will satisfy only those of you who are not afraid of the huge amount of English dialogue, because it makes up the vast majority of gameplay. [Issue#299]
