The game is easy to pick up, hard to master.
You can be in a match within 30 seconds from launching the game. There are many many settings available, from your personal HUD to a built-in map editor. The developers and community are friendly and supportive.

The best arena first person shooter in a long time. Actively developed, exciting to play. I love the customization in this game, from the HUD, character, weapons, and inputs. This game really sets the bar for how competitive shooters should be. Only negative feedback I have is regarding its matchmaking and queuing system and that more people should be be playing it.

This game is already great and has lots of potential with the editors given, what i like is that it focuses on what it wants to provide, it's fast, it's a ton of fun, it runs flawless, has accurate hitboxes and aim (yes it's still possible to provide that even for 2020 developers, i can't believe it) and mobility, just what you always want but rarely get. There is no reload, weapon change is instant and there are power ups and grenades for a little depth giving smoke, heal etc., it's just superb that nothing but death ever interrupts your fragging rush. On top it's free and just a 6 GB download so there's no reason to not check it out for any fps enthusiast.

If you are interested in customizations or want to support the team they have a very fair model, for 11.99€ you get battlepass access, customizations, a skin and spare credits for the store, battlepass is self sustaining and no horrible grind so it's a one time purchase.

Honestly, it's long since i have seen such a round gaming product, i guess that happens when pros turn developers.

Very good arena fps game. Fluid and responsive controls, runs well for most, super active devs, and no pay-to-win or FOMO bull... Tonnes of maps as well. Some original modes like Wipeout. Fast gameplay and verticality; it's what TF2 should have been!

Extremely feature rich, smooth-running, fun and vibrant arena shooter built mostly on the fundamentals of Quake.

Map Editor, Hud Editor, tonnes of configuration options, plenty of game modes, and in-game lobbying/queuing/parties.

Some little bugs and shortcomings but overall the game is great.

This game was crowdfunded by the former Quake community and they managed to improve it tremendously. Plenty of game modes, graphics are super cool and finally we have a great AFPS again to play and on top of it it is FREE! If you are coming from counter strike and the sorts, beware there is a learning curve, so don't judge the game until you actually learn it.

This is an incredibly fun throwback to the old school arena shooter that includes it's own character and iteration. Highly recommend

Diabotical at its core is a great arena shooter. It has 30 maps and 15 game modes. If you are new to afps games like I pretty much am then it may take some time to improve at the game. A lot of veteran players are in this game but so far the community has been pretty damn good.

So far no bugs and the game runs great. It could use a standard TDM mode and normal CTF mode. These two modes

It is f2p so it will not cost you anything to try out. Just like all f2p games these days it does have a battlepass. There are some free unlocks in the pass for anyone if you do not purchase the pass. Also, the game has achievements you can earn that will unlock other cosmetics. Cosmetics in the game are stickers that are used to design your egg bot, profile avatars, and soundtracks.

If you are a fan of arena shooters like Quake or Unreal than this is definitely worth checking out.

Best Arena First Person Shooter you can find now. The game is still under development and can only get better.
Anyone who has played AFPS should definitely try it once

Very nice arena shooter, fun to play, no farming needed, only skill matters. Technically flawless, I didn't find any glitch or bug yet. Artistic direction is simple, nice and effective. The game seems moderate on system resources, so it must run smooth on any rig. Maps I already tried are alright (there are 30 of them, I obviously didn't play all of them yet). Maps I already tried are alright (there are 30 of them, I obviously didn't play all of them yet). However, but I hope these points will be improved in the future, some features are lacking at this moment. There is no classic Team Death Match mode. The modes you can play in teams are too innovative for my tastes. The one that gets closest to "classic" is "wipeout", but there is no time / score mechanism. In wipeout mode, you have to eliminate all enemy team in order to win. That point alone is imho the major drawback of the game right now. There is no music except when you pick up the quad damage power-up. I'd like something catchy like EDM or old-school metal or hard-rock. Also, the UI is extremely dull now. Some animations and nice sounds would be welcome (for example on the battle pass screen), And finally, playing Diabotical I soooo miss the bloody giblets from old-school AFPSs (QC this is directed at you ;) ), associated with the appropriate sound, of course. At the moment this game only shows an explosion when you frag a guy, as a reward.
To sum this up, the good news is Diabotical has the core of a good AFPS (though I'm not good enough at it to judge about hit-boxes or weapon balance; these seem good to me). Bad news is, there seems to be a certain amount of work still to be done in order to have a nice and shiny wrapping around that core.
However, you got to keep in mind this is totally free to play, no pay-to-win here, no grinding needed to level up crappy weapons whatsoever. So, if you ever were really into AFPS, you definitely have no excuse not to give it a try.

Another AFPS game with outdated mechanics, graphics and sound, and with minimum new ideas.

Core game modes are legacy from 90's, and those that are issued as new, are just a mix of the old ones and not differs really much between each other. Generic customization, battle passes, stickers and all this stuff. For some reason, the developers decided that it is necessary to copy Quake

For some reason, the developers decided that it is necessary to copy Quake only, and skip all other late AFPS games, which have much more modern and various game ideas (like Unreal Tournament).

Macguffin is the only thing, inspired by UT2004's "Bombing Run" and QC's Sacrifice which is quite interesting as a team-based mode.

In general the game looks like blast from the past. I would understand if this game was released in the early 2000s, but now it is hard to understand who will play this today...

Game modes are bad, movement is awful, maps are so big for duels, no server browser, no marketing, bad patches, wipeout and aim arenas made this game looks like multiplayer kovaak.

It's a solid Quake Live clone with a few modern improvements. Overall, the game is ok but is a bit buggy with very small player base. Hopefully will improve in time with updates.

A great basic gameplay formula (quake live) for a competitive shooter not based on heroes, abilities, or battle royale. Responsive developers with regular updates, not afraid to experiment. The evolving arenafps these days, wow!

the only downside to Diabotical is the core audience are diehard/elitist Quake fans and casual players are an afterthought. that being said, prepare to lose many matches as a newbie. also, community is non-existant.

A solid contender for the title of the best new age arena style shooter. Weird concept with little balls running around, shooting at eachother, but other than that, solid fun, good weapons, nice mechanics and free to play.
