Downright painful to play...utter garbage that should be passed up without a second thought.
-
Dark Armies wretchedly tells you exactly what you need to do (i.e. move your units down by those trees and change their formation), but never gives even the slightest hint in the direction of the almighty how the hell that is done (i.e. what combination of keys and mouse buttons you must manipulate to get an action done).
-
Demon World is an easy contender for what is quite possibly the most horrid interface I've yet to see in an RTS. Not only is it unresponsive, backwards, and twitchy, but nothing is clearly defined.
-
There is a nice mix of unit types including heroes and the game even gives you spells to cast, but the AI is so poor and the presentation so lazy you'd be much better off buying the boardgame from an import store.
-
PC GamerWhat really condemns Demonworld, though, are its atrocious graphics and horrific AI and pathfinding. [Apr 2002, p.73]
