    While I think I prefer Undertale and Deltarune takes a while to really get rolling, I ended up really, really loving this game. I'm eager to see what future chapters (or what complete game) Toby Fox unleashes in the future for this game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Surprise game by Toby Fox out of nowhere, and that's what made this game (demo?) special. No trailer, no introduction, just like that, boom. Download the game for free and play it, I can't think of a better bargain. A completely new world with different characters and new, incredible music, areas, sprite artworks and more. This game of course is a bit on the short side, being around 3 hours, but it delivers and is well worth it.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Deltarune is a suprise spinoff of the Undertale series, but manages to deliver on the high expectations surprisingly well. While it's quite short, and (maybe?) doesn't seem to be finished yet and have more content coming, the first chapter expanded on Undertale's gameplay mechanics as well as maintaining the same style of comedy and writing. While the music isn't as good and the characters need some more time to grow, for the duration of the first chapter I thoroughly enjoyed it. A little disappointing that the ending doesn't change based upon your playstyle, but maybe in future chapters! If we get those...… Expand

    This game is great. It contains many systems and ideas of what made Undertale a great game and improved them, all while providing new concepts. The battle system, for example, contains all of Undertale's ideas and adds a "magic" button and a little view of what's happening in the battle. The story takes a while to take off, but its worth it.     This game is almost as great a masterpiece as Undertale, the characters are the most likeable people of planet earth, and factors that made Undertale so good have been transported into Deltarune, such as the music, the characters, the new and improved combat style.

    The game is seriously beautiful, I recommend it to everyone, but first, please play Undertale because the story is very connected, it is already Undertale's second game. The battle screen is better than Undertale.

    At first, I thought this game is pretty trash. But then I thought "Hey, maybe I should name off all of the good things about the game". And I had a lot of thoughts about the pros of the game. The game still has that Undertale feel. I like the first game more than this. There are a lot of things that I don't like about the game. But it ain't bad game. I will only give this game 7/10.     Except for the awful ending, the game tells a fun story with good characters. It does interesting things with the rpg party systems and the combat is a massive improvement over Undertale. Major problems (besides THAT ending) is that the puzzles are pretty frustrating and, due to it being part of a full game, I can´t rate it higher than 7. Doesn´t mean its bad though. And for a free game,Except for the awful ending, the game tells a fun story with good characters. It does interesting things with the rpg party systems and the combat is a massive improvement over Undertale. Major problems (besides THAT ending) is that the puzzles are pretty frustrating and, due to it being part of a full game, I can´t rate it higher than 7. Doesn´t mean its bad though.     Ok so firstly as I said, this game is free so it's hard to complain about something I got for nothing. But rarely do I get something for nothing that I would happily have paid for. Deltarune is shorter than undertale and can be clocked in about 2-3 hours, but the aesthetic, humour, lovable characters, music and combat are all every bit as amazing as Undertale was. The story is fairly basic but from what I've seen of Toby Fox's twitter he's stated that this game is more a proof of concept and first episode so there's room for it to evolve. What Deltarune proves more than anything however is that despite Toby Fox's self doubt he is capable of putting out consistently amazing work while still innovating. The changes to the combat system are fantastic and the new characters offer a new perspective on a game world that treats you very differently to Undertale.

    Toby has stated a desire to form a team to continue work on this, and I for one hope he does so, Deltarune takes the amazing Undertale and builds on it in several important ways and is absolutely worth your time.    … Expand

    Not Quite Undertale, But....
    Deltarune is still extremely well done and satisfying so if you love Undertale, You’ll definitely enjoy the hell out of this game.

    Very wonderful experience. The fighting mechanic is even better than the one from Undertale. And story is pretty cool for 2 hours long chapter.

The game is great, gives you a little nostalgia from Undertale, but the thing that it's not fully build upon the characters of the first game is the best. You are in the diffrent universe with new and awesome characters. I personally loved every single one of them. Battle system is improved a lot and has no downgrades from the last game. I'm looking forward to the 2nd chapter of the game.… Expand

    Next step for build your undertale cult. If you didn't play undertale it's probably weird and unplayable but it was the idea, right? I like it, and probably in near future I will join this cult, because it's like you build a cult. You give people awesome entertainment and then you give second great adventure just for them but the experience is different and only the true believers... INext step for build your undertale cult.     Deltarune Chapter 1 improves on almost every aspect of Toby Fox's Undertale. Deltarune's revised combat approach is a welcome addition, adding more variety and strategy to the game, while still retaining the charm of the original system.     Pretty good characters,a step up from Undertale in terms of sprites,you can actually see the enemies coming toward you in this game not like Undertale where enemies randomly appear.

    The fanbase ruined Undertale.
    I REALLY hope it doesn't ruin this too, this singular chapter didn't have everything, but there's SO much potential here for future chapters.
    The battle system has been improved, I love the characters, and the OST is just amazing.

    По пунктам
    Гемплей
    По сравнению с Undertale геймплей шагнул вперёд, добавилось больше контента, боёвка - всё тот же bullet hell, но она стала более тактичной из-за чего более интересной, что не может не радовать.
    Нет случайный встреч с противником, теперь ты их видишь и при прямых руках можешь избежать боя.
    Но один минус, отсутствие сильных боссов (кроме Джевила), сама тактичность боя по-настоящему раскрывается в битве с Королём и Джевилом, то бишь с сильным боссами, а так игрок может умереть 1-2 раза за прохождение (не считая бой с этим клоуном).
    Сюжет
    Но чем я могу точно восхищаться это сюжетом!
    Тебя будит знакомый раннее персонаж, ты едешь в школу, встречая своих старых друзей, после чего попадаешь в класс, где знакомишься с новыми героями. И после успешного похода за мелом попадаешь в тёмный мир, откуда мы выбираемся, параллельно узнавая о персонажах вселенной, просыпаемся в кладовке с нашей подругой и после диалога с ней мы уходим из школы, после чего нам надо вернуться домой, а концовка эпизода... Просто нечто, очень понравилась!
    Игра сама показывает, что будет в следующих эпизодах, и если внимательно играть, то ты будешь знать, что мы ещё встретим Азриеля, что Мир Тьмы явно никуда не денется, а концовка эпизода не просто кат-сцена.
    Давайте будем честны, задача любого 1 эпизода игра - это заинтересовать игрока и DeltaRune с этой задачей справляется отменно.
    От себя скажу, что это лучший первый эпизод в который я играл.
    Игровой мир
    Так же как и в Undertale ты можешь всё пощупать, со всеми поговорить, но только NPC теперь не предмет, как в Undertale теперь ты можешь поговорить с ним о нескольких темах, а не получить одну две несчастные фразы.
    Локации похорошели, стали больше, визуально красивее, теперь в них больше контента.
    Так же в локации Город ты можешь встретить старых друзей из чьих уст мы узнаем, что находимся в другой, альтернативной вселенной. По тому где, а вернее когда происходит действие игры можно строить бесконечное кол-во теорий, но я думаю Toby Fox сам всё покажет в следующих эпизодах игры.
    Нельзя не вспомнить, то чем гордился Undertale - это персонажи, что же и здесь DeltaRune не отстаёт, появились новые самобытные герои, непохожие на старых, да есть часть NPC, которые являются старыми, но их задача в другом, а именно - прояснить вселенную, то есть объяснить где мы находимся.

    Вопросов нет, всё так же круто!
    Я действительно был удивлён, в хорошем смысле этого слова, этой игрой очень качественно, очень душевно и могу сказать, что игра даже лучше Undertale!
    Toby Fox сделал приятный и главное качественный подарок.
    В общем 10/10 не меньше!

    Fun game and really good music. Has the charm of UNDERTALE, yet changed the battle system enough to help it feel fresh. Excited to get my hands on the final full game and be able to see what Tobyfox has in store for us.

    As of chapter 1 it is by far more polished than undertale, the battle system is more engaging than undertale in every way. As it's own game it is still good, it gets you attached to the characters and gives you and ending that makes you hope for more, overall the story is still confusing but I'm sure more will be explained in future chapters, great job toby.

    I played this in a one-way playthrough on Halloween night as soon as i got home from a trip with friends. It was great. If other chapters come out, i might like more this than the original predecessor, as i like way more the mysterious atmosphere around it. Of course, it's the first chapter, but oh boy what a great chapter! Music is excellent as always, characters are lovable and gameplayI played this in a one-way playthrough on Halloween night as soon as i got home from a trip with friends. It was great.     Deltarune is harder than Undertale which makes sense since Deltarune is meant for people that have finished Undertale. Deltarune lasts about 2 to 3 hours which is ok for a demo like game. It is nice seeing how the NPCs for Undertale are doing like Asgore. If you have played Undertale i recommend Deltarune but if you haven't play Undertale first.

    If you thought Undertale was as good as it could get then you're in for a treat.
    Deltarune introduces characters that are not perfect but still likeable and fun, a banger soundtrack, a reworked version of Undertale's combat system, and so on.
    The game is fun and I enjoyed every bit of it.

    I downloaded this game when it is released at the FIRST time and when i heard it is free, i was really happy, than i was thinking of deltarune: is this game will be good like Undertale?? Not good like undertale but still a pretty good for being an rpg game, pixel graphics now much better looking XD.

    Toby Fox tried something different this time. I can swear that this guy brought a different breath to the rpg genre. So if he's trying something, he has a know. The battle system of this game is a much improved version of the first game. I liked the interface in the same way. Very sedate and enjoyable. Everything you feel the absence of in the first game seems to exist in    Deltarune huh?

    The characters are not as epic as in the first game, I cannot say that I care about them. Alphys and Rasiel are exceptions, I love them. The duration of the game is extremely short. If only it came out as one long game, not as an episode ....

    me gived undertale 7/10 and dont like it very much , loved this game! so here is pluses a perfect battle system (the undertale doesnt have) tp, magic , colorful battles etc. charecters... a masterpice . songs are just like undertale good, everything is more detailed than undertale, so play this game!

The Characters just fit this world so perfect, the music will never leave your head and the story is just gorgeous. The new battle mechanic doesn't really succeed - for one thing, battles are very easy; for another, it is obvious what Actions will lead to a successful 'Spare' or 'Pacify'. This is unlike Undertale, where routine battles WERE legitimately challenging, and required thinking and puzzle-solving to successfully Spare (andA so-so game that rides off of the immense success of its predecessor. The setting in Deltarune Ch 1 is also generally not memorable, unlike Undertale's collection of more memorable (and better looking) locations.

    What redeems Deltarune is a few factors: Firstly, Lancer is generally an excellent character, whose humour lands a lot of the time. Suzie is also a reasonably solid character. Secondly, there are enough memorable songs (which was one of the key parts of Undertale's atmosphere and storytelling). Field of Hopes and Dreams is the most obvious banger, but the shop theme and the final castle theme are also very good. Finally, the 'secret' boss fight is an excellent challenge that comes with its own fantastic music and an interesting character. This fight makes up for a lot of the disappointments from the other fights in the game.

    All that being said, the redeeming qualities made this game worthwhile (at least for me). Just don't go into it expecting anything close to Undertale.    … Expand

    la verdad habia empesado a jugar undertale pero lo deje porque me parecio muy aburrido este año conoci deltarune el cual me parecio interesante asi que lo probe y que juegazo muy bueno se lo recomiendo a todos ya es mi juego faborito ya que es como undertale pero soluciona las cosas que no me gustaron sin mencionar y personajes son muy buenos la jugavilidad tambien y una banda sonorala verdad habia empesado a jugar undertale pero lo deje porque me parecio muy aburrido este año conoci deltarune el cual me parecio interesante asi que lo probe y que juegazo muy bueno se lo recomiendo a todos ya es mi juego faborito ya que es como undertale pero soluciona las cosas que no me gustaron sin mencionar y personajes son muy buenos la jugavilidad tambien y una banda sonora explendida si te gusto undertale o no si has jugado undertale o no se que este juego te va a encantar… Expand

Были неплохие моменты и шутки, а концовка составляла устраивать панику. Мне понравилось что это другой мир, он связывает с миром андертейл только определёнными персонажами.     Those who liked Undertale will also like Deltarune. The battle system has been reworked and improved. Probably the biggest difference is that this time there are more characters in the fight. Susie and Ralsei will help you. So there are more cool mechanics in the fight. The music is also wonderful again. The characters are also very good again, as well as the humor. Overall, it's a good chapter

    This was boring.
    You just go in a straight line, the story is like any kids cartoon for man-children, the action has no depth.
    This barely counts as an "RPG".

    Its a good game. But is too short, the gameplay just became fun in the final boss, when you can control Kris, Susie and Ralsei, poor characters exploit and the humor is boring. On the other hand hand, it has a kick-ass OST, and, honestly, this is my favourite of all toby fox's games, The pixel art is beautifull and there characters like Lancer, that are FUN. nothing else, just fun.     Toby fox new game has been released, after Undertale, this game tries the first formula adding a new breath into the gameplay, more personality and stuff, the chapter 1 seems a little short, but it was good seeing recognizable faces, the gameplay is ok, the graphics are good, the music is very good.

    It may not be the near-perfect masterpiece I consider Undertale to be, but it successfully holds onto much of what made the first game great while making adjustments and finding its own place as well.
