    This is the finest computer wargame EVER made.

    The basic engine (divisional movement, supply combat) is from the previous fine games in the Decisive Campaigns series (Warsaw to Paris and Case Blue) but Barbarossa adds almost a role-playing aspect to the game with a series of interactions with everyone from Hitler to the Generals who run the truck and trains to Himmler and his SS goons!    This is the finest computer wargame EVER made.

    The basic engine (divisional movement, supply combat) is from the previous fine games in the Decisive Campaigns series (Warsaw to Paris and Case Blue) but Barbarossa adds almost a role-playing aspect to the game with a series of interactions with everyone from Hitler to the Generals who run the truck and trains to Himmler and his SS goons!

    The fuel supply and other logistical considerations (including Winter clothing) immerse you in a game of incredible fun and depth.

    I wanted to say that this game is the best strategic Eastern Front game that I have ever played, and I have played a ton of them. This game strikes the perfect balance and the AI seems quite competent.

    This the kind of game that just keeps me wanting to play one more turn. The book/manual that comes with the boxed set is incredible.     Created an account just to cast my vote for this game! Have put in 500 hours or more, and still enjoying the strategic maneuverings!
    Let's face it, this kind of game succeeds or dies on the basis of the strength of the AI. And fortunately for us, the AI here is smart and will punish you for your mistakes! Get a kick out of reading the few negative reviews on Steam pertaining to the    Created an account just to cast my vote for this game! So try again, and this time think!!
    Must've read all the reviews out there before purchasing this game. My recommendation is to purchase the more expensive version including the hardcover book. At $70 (game+book), it's not cheap, but certainly worth the money. The book is a valuable information resource, otherwise you have to read the online manual (and you're saving only $20).
    The game has a steep learning curve, so it requires patience and a willingness to learn through trial and error. Enjoy!    … Expand
