Debris is by no means is a heavy hitter among other games this year, but does lend itself to a very questionable and interesting experience. If this game had more immersive elements to it such as VR, then I would lean a little more in favor of recommending a play-through. If you are looking for a drawn-out mind bender this game is for you, but be sure to grab two copies and play with a friend.

The core concept of Debris is promising, but the dull world and mechanics diminish the experience. [Apr 2018, p.75]

Debris has good ideas, but fails miserably when it puts them into practice. Underwater survival and a plot that are quite interesting are not enough to compensate the poor AI and gameplay.

This game should have had co-op from the very start, as it relies on the two characters working together. Working with an AI just doesn’t workThis game should have had co-op from the very start, as it relies on the two characters working together. Working with an AI just doesn’t work unless the AI is fantastic, and it is not.

Playing this with a friend improves the game experience immensely, but the controllers are just awful and instead of diving into the story, you end up being frustrated that you can never navigate or move properly.
