RemyBJan 16, 2010This has to be the best single player game I've played in the past 10 years. Just make sure you play it with the lights off and the sound up!

MMJan 17, 2010The controls are impressively functional - once you get the hang of them. Although, the storyline is by-the-numbers, it is a gripping and often surprising story. Oh yeah... it's scary as hell.

EthanDuysenNov 4, 2008This game is simply amazing, it has the same feeling and effect of bioshock only done better. The creatures are simply amazing and mad props to the guys in the sound department. THis game is how Doom 3 should have been done. And has set the bar for all survival, horor, and disaster games in the future :D i find that its amazing

toddCMar 15, 2009Man how can you say this game sucks. Yes maybe the camera angles are not that good but it rocks. This game has to be the best 3rd person shooter I have ever played. Scary as shit kept my on the edge of my chair the whole time. Love the monsters all of them esp the big ass one that has the ripped coat thats scary. Overall loved the game beat it 3 times and every time was better.

OrlandoMOct 26, 2008In one word - AWESOME. I don't usally buy PC versions of console games because the experience is usually less than stellar but its nice to see EA making a commitment to quality in PC games. It looks and sounds great and is truly scary - turn the lights down and the volume up!

Jun 26, 2019Still one of the best survival horror action games ever made. Only Resident Evil 4 can really beat it.
In 2019 looses none of it's creepy and intense atmosphere. As others have said the sound design is outstanding all round but the graphics also still hold up IMO when all options are set to high. Plays well with keyboard and mouse too. An essential game for any horror fan. -

This is a highly recommended game for science fiction and survival horror fans, with its claustrophobic atmosphere and horrible creatures.
-
Overall, Dead Space is an extraordinary game with tons of shock value and action to whet any fan's appetite for some time, and with a campaign that lasts a steady 10-12 hours, that’s plenty of time to get lost aboard the Ishimura.

PC Zone UKDead Space is a potentially great game that's hamstrung by an attempt to completely ape a console controller with a mouse and keyboard. [Dec 2008, p.58]
