    I really enjoyed this game.Excellent graphics and lots of blood.Some encounters I found pretty hard,like when theres loads of guys shooting at you and then a guy comes up with a bulletproof sheild and hits you with a sword (weird).The biggest problem is its way too short and theres some reference to hadens past that you never find out about.Still its a good game for the price its at.

The storyline in negligible, and doesn't really go anywhere, it feels like if there were four dark sector books, and then they decided to make a crappy game adaptation of the fifth. As far as the gameplay is concerned, its pretty solid, combat and movement is smooth, and weapons and enemy are well balanced with each other. Graphically it fairlyFor $5.00 or less this is an alright game.     this game is common shooter game, hitting sense is good. but, the puzzle is annoying, there is no consideration for gamer. and latter part is boring for repetitive enemy

    Dark Sector is sort of a paradoxical game. The combat is very uninspired and tedious but at the same time unique because of the glaive and various powers and upgrades. The graphics are great in some places but at the same time clunky and dated, even for 2009. The game shows it tries to have style and originality but can't seem to grasp it.     79/80 Not a bad little game for the money. It reminds me of the Tom Clancy Splinter Cell and recent Rainbow Six game series. It also runs on older machines at 2.0 ghz amd above with little or no trouble except in distance graphics. The artwork is top-notch, so if you like half descent artwork, here you go. Missing? The excitement level and it is over the shoulder with a rigid aspect of 79/80 Not a bad little game for the money. It reminds me of the Tom Clancy Splinter Cell and recent Rainbow Six game series.     This game is not a very fun game and should be more of a 4.99 game rather than a 19.99 game. Blueberry Garden is probally even better.

    Bad sound effects, story isn't cool and the graphics not beautiful. Linear and killing with blade going **** On PC not cool. You can controlling the way of the blade, but it's terrible. Can't jumping and the key distribution is sucks.

    Given the history of the game's development it makes sense where this game has it's limitations... the plot seems decent if a bit anemic at times however that is secondary to the gameplay experience itself.

    It is certainly a game for mature audiences what with the violent content and copious amounts of blood and gore. This game isn't a game for kids in any way, shape or form... the puzzles are quite difficult and it doesn't hold your hand through any of it save for the initial "this is what a puzzle looks like" in the first act. Also, the game is satisfyingly difficult giving you the chance to really challenge yourself. There are some spots where the difficulty seems just a bit too much but again, this game will not hold your hand and "tell you a story" with a few gameplay events here and there... so, if you're looking for a game where you can lose yourself in the story and not be bothered with too much difficulty, then this game may not be for you.

    It is also paced well... with just the right amount of slow points to give you a chance to catch your breath.

    It's not a perfect game... it has it's "Derp" moments... However, try and understand the game's history and how it came to development and you'll understand why this game wasn't as good as it could have been.

    All in all, a hidden gem for gamers looking for a game that will give them a tough challenge, immersive environment and rewarding gameplay. Hardcore gamers will love this game... casual gamers might find it a bit too intense.    … Expand

    Very nice game, the storyline is okay, the graphics aren't bad for 2009 but I personally don't care at all about graphics, the controls are good, I love swinging around my blade and controlling it in mid air, the game is gory and I love it! the amount of blood in the game satisfies me and the game is really fun, I don't understand why the low scores on this game, this game is **** awesome!

    This would've been a GREAT game if the developers hadn't sabotaged it with stupid crap. Like when you sprint you can't turn? WTF? I can cut some sharp corners when I'm in a hurry, so that makes the Uber badass guy in the game kind of a gimp. Also it has no jump feature. When has that EVER been a good idea in an FPS game? So you end up using the Glave mostly to look cool, not because it's a good weapon. If they'd had any clue, they'd have made the Glave steering mechanism real time (like the missiles in H-L 2), so it didn't slow the game to a crawl whenever you used it. And they should have made the guns short range only, forcing you to use the Glave for long range shots. Add JUMPING and subtract the retarded sprinting limitations and THAT woulda been a rockin' game. In fact I really want to play a game like that and I hope someone makes it.… Expand

    nice graphics for a low budget game,
    animations are moderate with a few weird looking bugs. they ai is pretty bad. the controls are easy. i guess with a few changes the game actually would be fun to play, BUT unless you really save your ammo, you will have to kill most of the enemies with the almost useless boomerang knife. that takes ages and is    good sound effects, bad voiceacting.

    It's more a 7.5. This game is not about story, it's about fighting. And the glaive is everything. This game resembles a lot with Gears of War, only that the action is better. Greate close combat killing cinematics.

    Not the best console port. I had to use numerous workarounds to get the game to display correctly on my 16:9 screen. Begins as a rather dull linear cover shooter and unfortunately only picks up too late in the game. Once all powers have been unlocked and a few things develop Dark Sector becomes very enjoyable, though it is frustrating at times; controls are rigid and clunky and the gameNot the best console port.     Story and characters first of all are instantly forgetable and setting itself is uninteresting. Graphics are pretty average aswell for for its time, as game's title implies its dark looking game with almost no color. Also game wont save your custom key bindings after qutting to Windows, so youll have get used to default controls,

    Gameplay is fairly average if not ok. Wasnt the fan of movement system, sprinting especialy felt painful. Cover system works fine, but at times it can get in the way since cover and sprinting use same key, making you enter cover when you dont need it leaving you wide open for enemy attacks. Game also isnt telling you what to do, where to go, how to effectively beat the bosses, nothing, meaning it doesnt hold your hand, which for some more hardcore players will be a nice thing, but will leave casual players annoyed and frustrated, so bad that theyll possibly want to stop playing the game for good. The glave which will be your main weapon and tool is a cool gimmick and works very well and controls nicely. One small yet cool thing i liked was that you can only use picked up weapons from enemies for a short period of time before they self destruct. All of the boss fights were not very well designed imo, they felt too standard without giving me any thrills and some them can take too much time before you undersatnd how to take them down, theyre also pretty easy if you dont play like noob. Game also doesnt have difficulty settings, the standard setting can be pretty challenging at times when they throw lots of enemies at you some if which are pretty OP,, there will also be lots of cheap deaths that you wont see coming, but overall if you have xp with third person shooter action games youll do fine in Dark Sector.

    This game is purely for action heads, if you look for a good story above all else, dont bother.    … Expand

    Que les puedo decir, un juego directo, siniestro, de duración aceptable, dificultad a la medida, la historia es brutal, toques survival horror. hoy en dia ya no es tan común juegos asi. el uso del boomeran hojilla es muy bueno, la degradación del propio personaje. wow

    Such repetitiveness and broken gameplay, such wow, don't play. The beginning of the game made me think its something good ... but after like 30 minutes i started thinking if DELETE was my best choice for this game.

    Ну такое, разрешения выше FullHD игра не поддерживает. Сюжет супер рваный. Стрельба скучная, С глефой играться тоже не удобно. Но хоть проходится за 1 день. В похожем стиле лучше поиграть в Singularity, а в похожем геймплее лучше Wanted: Weapons of FateНу такое, разрешения выше FullHD игра не поддерживает. Сюжет супер рваный.     A cool game that I learned about at the age of 6. I liked the look very much then, but there was no opportunity to play. I recently remembered and decided to buy a pass. The game is really cool, even today. The plot is also good, although sometimes mediocre. I am glad that there is some realism in    "I don't know. В игре отсутствует выбор сложности, при том что игра довольно лёгкая, из-за этого мне как раз таки и наскучило играть ко второй половине игры, зато после прохождения есть возможность переиграть на более высокой сложности, ну вот, надо было всего-то для начала пройти игру на лёгкой сложности!

    Графика, для коридорного шутана - посредственная, анимации - деревянные, саунд - не цепляет.

    Ох, чуть не забыл упомянуть самую душное что есть в игре - босс-файты, боже, это просто ужас, скриптовое говно закрученное на выполнении одних и тех же действий по сто раз для того чтобы победить босса, кайф... Миссии с использованием шакала тоже неинтересная духота. Мини-боссы же в игре будто вообще не тестились, до жути недоработанные, к примеру чтобы убить солдата в бронекостюме, достаточно лишь бегать вокруг него(даже в упор) и спамить глефу, они просто не могут развернуться, их ии не понимает что надо делать, а первый бой с вражеским шакалом начинается по скрипту который активируется когда подойдёшь на определённое расстояние, но глефа достает до него за чертой включения скрипта! Он просто будет стоять афк пока ты спамишь по нему глефой, в итоге его можно убить ещё до начала файта)    … Expand

Любопытная, и вполне годно реализованная, задумка с глефой в качестве основного оружия и общая мрачная стилистика, увы, нивелируется скудным левелдизайном, скудным разнообразием и попыткой в серьезное повествование. А ещё это нелепое лицо ГГ...Для своего времени это бы неплохой боевик категории B, на один раз. Но на радость проблемы решаемы и в процессе геймплея игра не выдает критических приколов.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Even though I’m not a recurrent third-person shooter player, Dark Sector could catch my eye with its gameplay and unique mechanics. So I gave it a try and it was ok. Not the big deal, but I think a 7 is a fair score.

    1.- Story: If you are looking for a game only for its story, then this game is not for you. To sum up, you’re an agent called Hayden that was sent to a fictional country to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak. You find the bad guy, he infects you through his warframe ally, you survive, you become warframe and gotta stop him from unleashing the virus on the rest of the world. That's basically it.

    Along the way, your character will meet some side characters that honestly, don’t care at all.
    Especially one woman, who you are supposed to know already but the game doesn’t tell you anything about how they met or why she became evil. Even when there’s no prequel or something to find out.
    Also Hayden talks about his traumatic past or something. But you just don’t give a damn about it. Because again, the game doesn’t show you any flashbacks or give you enough context to relate to him.

    2.- Gameplay:
    Mechanics: The game's highlight, and the only reason why this game has a 7, is its great unique weapon: The glaive. A boomerang-like blade that can be thrown at enemies to rip them apart if you aim accurately to their limbs. As you progress through the game, you will get some awesome upgrades such as:

    Aftertouch: It allows you to control the path of the glaive while in the air by hitting the glaive button after it has been thrown. Pretty cool mechanic since you can redirect your glaive while slow-mo to tear your enemies apart.

    Power-Throw: It allows you to charge up the Glaive to deal quadruple damage. This combined with Aftertouch is basically an instakill against any regular enemy. So powerful. Also necessary to solve most of the puzzles.

    Energy Pulse: It allows you to create a burst of elemental energy around you to take out groups of enemies. An amazing mechanic no matter if it's charged with fire, electricity or ice.

    Shield: After defeating one boss, you gain the ability to throw up a protective shield that will rebound incoming projectiles back at enemies. Never tried this last thing cause I rather throw the glaive before.

    There are also other mechanics like throw the glaive to pick enemies weapons up and use them, invisibility (don’t use this very often cause I think it’s pretty useless) and finishers, which can be performed when an enemy is sufficiently damaged. When executing it, the enemy is brutally mutilated and usually killed, except in the case of Bosses unless they’re on their knees and glowing red.

    Weapons: Another cool feature is that if you wanna use an enemy weapon, you can pick it up, but after a while it will start ringing and eventually will explode.
    This is amazing ‘cause it encourages you to use the glaive more. However, you can get “normal” weapons at Black Market. Unfortunately, not as many as you wish. This due there’s not much money throughout the game. Also, this feature is not at every level, so be careful with that.
    I was only able to buy 3. Being the shotgun the best one by far. In addition, you can also get some upgrades for your weapons along the game.

    Enemies/bosses: Basic enemies such as soldiers and mutants are fine. Later you will face better versions of these. Being one kind of mutant extremely annoying. They’re challenging at the beginning, but later they are just annoying as **** There are also robots, but I assume that they can be considered as minibosses since it’s a 1 vs 1 encounter. Now about bosses, there are like 3-4 boss fights. Being the Warframe fight the best one and the giant mutant the worst one. Regarding the rest, they’re kinda boring.
    Final boss is also good. Not as difficult as I would’ve wanted but yeah.

    At last, no difficulties and run animation looks terrible.

    3.- Visuals: The game takes place in a variety of environments, but most of them are in dark/greyscale. Since most of the time you'll be in closed areas and when you are out it’s mostly at night. The atmosphere looks good but sometimes you'll stumble upon low-resolution textures. The cemetery level was the best good-looking level.

    4.- Audio: Nothing relevant. SFX was standard. However, sometimes it feels like music and dialogues cut off abruptly.

    5.- Technical: Although I didn’t notice many bugs, sometimes IA is just dumb. If we were fighting and I decided to back off or cover and I am no longer at their range, they will stop shooting and do nothing. Plus If I stand in front of them, they just don’t do anything even if there’s nothing between us to block their attacks. The good thing is that bosses didn’t bug.

    So overall, Dark Sector is a decent game to hang out and when you have nothing better to do.    … Expand

    The gameplay is quite enjoyable despite its apparent simplicity, and the best thing is the spinning glaive, the most dangerous boomerang thingy in the universe. It chops off hands, legs and heads, and when powered up can even cut people in half. Overall, Dark Sector is a very decent shooter - or slasher? [Apr 2009]
