    I hope they never make video games again, they have absolutely zero talent. Promoting this as "next generation of open-world games" is biggest lie and insult gaming community has ever got.

    Cyberpunk 2077 is a solid video game! I love being in the world and it really makes me want to play through the game multiple times. Yes it has its problems just like any new open world game It has bugs it crashes and it has poor performance issues on older hardware but I believe in CD project red and I believe that they can fix these issues just like they did in the Witcher 3.

    there is nothing boring about this game, that's pure hate.

    Overall, I was slightly disappointed about how a game that was developed after 8 years and multiple delays came out so unfinished and so short of my expectation that even Jesus christ can't help with this. Bugs aside (which is a **** obviously, but this is the norm for a Day One experience), there are so many problems with the game that are just hard to like it over the good stuff, including, but not limited to:
    + There are barely any interaction or lives in the supposedly crowded and "vivid" Night City. NPCs are a lot, but there are little that can be done with them, and some part of the city are just illogically there even after weeks of in-game time (for example, the cop asking 2 dudes in front of V's apartment, still there before the prologue and after it, wtf?).

    + The combat system is dry, with barely any mods or customization that you can do with them, and especially with melee combat, it just sucks;

    + the driving system is too sensitive and weird for keyboard users;

    + the shopping system is lacking and too straightforward, no interaction whatsoever with the seller, and there are not many variety of stores at all;

    + there's no dedicated walk button;

    + activities on the street are repetitive and lack creativity and interactivity (most of the times just kill a group of enemies, go around collecting "evidence" and that's it);

    + interaction with normal NPCs are just receiving insults from them when pressing F;

    + the clothing system is horrendously created, with military grade pants having lower armor than some **** legging and so forth, and if you just can't balance fashion with effectiveness, since, like I said, horrendously created;

    + the player customization is just, again, lacking, but I guess it's better than most game (also, you can't change your appearance after the initial setup).

    And the list goes on. And I haven't even touched bugs yet.

    On the bright side, the story so far for me brilliant, with great delivery and great start (prologue takes 9 hours, which makes me feel even more excited going deeper into the story). Nonetheless, it's sad to see such a brilliant story has to pile in with a bunch of unfinished system and craps that are bundled together for shipping. However, I am positive that in the future CDPR will be able to fix all of this game's problems, add more contents and make this game great, like how I had perceived in the past years of waiting. But for now, a 5 is a generous score for this CP77 at it stands now.

I figured the jackwads on here would judge the game based on temporary bugs and their crappy systems and not on some of the groundbreaking graphical achievements. It is a very good game and I personally love it. Unfortunately the console and low pc spec peasants will have to wait and if there is one thing I have learned on Metacritic sometimes games don’t get judged on their merit here and people love to hate on stuff and love drama. Hopefully next time CDPR tells the complaining peasants to upgrade since they seem to complain about delays, release, and not meeting realistic expectations. This game is NOT a revolution at all, it is not at all, far from it, what was promised in the incessant marketing campaigns, in the trailers, etc. It is a game that does NOT INNOVATE ANYTHING, I would say that it hardly even tries.

    The story of the game, at the moment, is brilliant, that cannot be denied, it is a game that is well written, the narrative engages, the characters are quite charismatic and they put you in a lot of trouble when it comes to choosing your loyalties.

    Another brilliant thing is the sound, the dubbing is 10, the music, the setting, in general all the audio is very successful.

    ... And so far the good.

    The game's main playable mechanics are pretty mediocre. Gunplay is basic, basic, even though they try to adorn it with some technical details that you end up not using like bouncing bullets or smart bullets, because basically they are not needed, the combat feels like any standard game in the industry. last decade. It has no personality. And the worst thing is the melee, you do not feel the contact, you just hit the button 3 times to do the combo, rest and repeat, flat animations, no blood, no reactions to the blows, nothing. And these technologies have been around for years.

    Driving is disastrous, really, it does not make sense, there is no sense of speed, there is no sense of control of the vehicle, collisions are a joke and you end up avoiding accidents so as not to feel embarrassed, and turns, it seems that you rally when you are not even at 30 km / h. To summarize, the driving physics are non-existent, it was enough to copy already created models like the GTA, without giving it a further twist. I think they've had plenty of time.

    Walking through the city becomes tedious, gangs everywhere that if you shoot first, a police will join them as allies spawned out of nowhere. Really, they appear on your face all of a sudden. If you also run over someone, or kill someone in absolute stealth, a crime will be reported automatically and the police will appear on your back out of nowhere.

    And artificial intelligence, well, it doesn't exist directly. It has a very basic pattern, far behind current standards, but it is also downright stupid. She charges you head-on while you shoot her, she doesn't use the covers logically, she doesn't try to surround you, nothing. . And they are things that are already done in many games. They also forget that you have killed a partner of theirs within 5 seconds.

    Character customization is also very, very basic, choose between X faces, X hairstyles, colors and some piercing, all pre-designed and very much seen. So much trouble with the immersion that they have not pampered this section, and also then you can not even see your character unless you go on a motorcycle or give him to see you in a mirror, because be careful, your character is not reflected or in crystals or anything, only when you see yourself in a mirror (?)

    Anyway, one starts to think that they have invested so many years of development, to release a game that does not innovate in anything, that does not improve, or even equals, games of the past generation in many of its core mechanics . A game that is only saved by its setting and its narrative.

    PS: The choices you make end up being practically irrelevant, as well as the selection of your character's background.

    On PC, it's a solid 5/10 action adventure game with RPG elements. It has its moments of genuine excellence in the odd side quest but feels curiously like an amalgam of elements of various games hammered together not always successfully or coherently.

    I get the impression that the game was meant to be a visual feast to cover over a whole host of things which just aren't quite 'right' but that feast is currently gated behind a fantasy PC build for most gamers, and even the next step down limited by supply of the GPUs with the needed features.

    Personally, I was hoping for a game which would take on the cyberpunk genre with thought but this is really more in tune with Altered Carbon than Bladerunner 2049. You're left wondering whether subjects and issues are thrown in just for the tittilation rather than from any desire to engage seriously with them at any level beyond the most superficial.

    In the end, I've found it to be a cluster of cliches bathed in ray traced lighting. As vapid and insubstantial as the clouds of smoke filling each room and corridor.

Night City appears deep and lifeful, so long as you don't try to interact with any of the NPCs. The police appear around the city in general gameplay, but try to fight them and they turn into omnipotent, teleporting deities that just spawn behind you in ever greater numbers until you're dead. The NPC shopkeepers don't have any interactions available, don't expect to be buying and eating noodles from a street vender unless they're explicitly marked on the map. In essence, this game takes the NPC AI from the Witcher 3 and transposes it into a Cyberpunk world. Walking, talking, skin-deep robots that have no interactions beyond "press F to say a one-liner".

    And don't expect much more from the enemy AI, either. Stealth is summed up as "stay out of their cone of vision, walk slowly, and hope that nobody notices you as that triggers *every single other enemy nearby* into a combat state". It's, again, skin-deep and barebones. Enemies don't try to flank you, they don't try to swarm you, they don't try to take any combat techniques more advanced than "sit behind cover and shoot if you have a gun, rush them if you have a melee weapon".

    The combat is where things begin to improve, albeit only slightly. The gunplay offers a bit of variety, with the ability to choose between rifles, pistols, shotguns, and SMGs, all of which feel fairly unique and interesting to use. The "quickhacks" add another layer of interesting mechanics, allowing for an extra avenue of damage potential, alongside the intelligence they can provide. These systems overall mesh into an interesting feel, something that feels a bit like the Witcher 3's combat with its' variety of spells, weapons, and potions to use. And even if the cover system leaves a lot to be wanted, combat is fairly well-flehsed out and an interesting mechanic overall.

    The story is where this game truly shines, though. In true CDPR fashion, there is a wide variety of interesting side encounters to be had, from crime-fighting missions to collection missions, to assassinations. While these may feel a bit samey after a while, they offer a way to become immersed in this world considering the absolute lack of outside worldsculpting, and give players ample opportunity to spend their time. The main story is well-written, with its outcomes being determined by the side quests you take, and gives the player the opportunity to apply their background and skills to allow for easier progression.

    All taken in, Cyberpunk is a beautiful, if not skin-deep game essentially modeled on the Witcher 3's successes. The skill tree truly allow for a wide range of playstyles even beyond what the Witcher offered, and makes combat much more unique. But, the downright abysmal NPC AI and police interactions drag the immersive feel of this world outside missions *way* down, and given the lack of even basic shopkeeper interactions, can leave the world feeling empty and stale at times. I still have a lot of content to be worked through in the storyline, but I'm fearful this game will turn bland and empty after the story is complete in a way that other open-world games like Fallout, GTAV, and RDR2 manage to avoid. Overall, this game is well-suited to fans of other more shallow open world games, but leaves a lot to be desired for fans of more crafted open worlds like those found in Rockstar games.

    The best metaphor for Cyberpunk 2077 is Johnny Silverhand himself. A messiah, a mix of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara, a talented singer who loves to shape his own legend and has a charming personality but loses the struggle with his own demons. The same goes for the game. It tells a great story and forced me to ask myself difficult questions, but many of its gameplay mechanics do not evolve and its technical state upon release was abysmal. Cyberpunk’s true hero is not a person, but Night City – a vibrant, living creature of great diversity. The beauty of the metropolis is striking. [01/2021, p.22]

    Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most disturbing and mind-blowing RPGs in history, where every decision has a deep impact on our trail. CD Projekt RED tosses us to the center of a city filled with disgusting delights where every character deserves our attention in an immersive experience and overall, very rewarding. From the sarcastic and shadowy tone imposed by the countless scenes in the game, to the flexibility we have on the choices to face every situation that is presented, Night City is truly memorable. It’s a shame that the countless bugs spoil or diminish the impact of some resounding moments, but we are without a question, in the presence of one of the best games in 2020.

    Measured against the extreme expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 can't fulfill any of them. But all in all, despite the countless small weaknesses and inconsistences, with interesting characters, great story and dialogues or the freedom concerning gameplay, CD Projekt delivers a unique and great RPG that every fan of the genre needs to play.
