Jul 19, 2011This game is awesome. A great throwback to classic RPGs. This was exactly the awesome, entertaining, humorous, 8-bit game i had been looking for! I highly recommend it, especially for such a cheap price.

Jan 31, 2014Just like 'Breath of Death VII: The Beginning', this sequel features some ugly (and that even by SNES standards) and uninspired graphics. Funny ironical storyline & -telling. Better play a Japanese masterpiece like a 'Final Fantasy' episode on SuperNintendo!

Mar 24, 2020Because of this game, I registered in Steam after completing "torrent edition" to buy this game and support studio.

Jan 9, 2013Better than Breath of Death 7, but only by a small margin. It seems to me that Zeboyd always makes minimal efforts for the game to be enjoyable. Obviously it somewhat works but the games are a bit the equivalent of Justin Bieber in the indie RPG world. Gotta look for something else if you want a great experience.

Nov 14, 2012Think FF1-3 but funny. The game has some enjoyable moments and is funny thoughout but in this modern era the combat and mechanics get tiresome after a while.

May 29, 2013Cthulhu saves the world is a poorly designed game designed to pay homage to classic RPGs. This game and Breath of Death are not even worth the 89p i paid for them, but this one is only slightly better.

Mar 9, 2012Very very overrated game with bad graphics and extremely short playtime for a so-called throwback to the old superNES RPG (5 hours or so). The humor is quirky at best. But at least it's cheap.

Sep 21, 2011Ridiculous price, great humour, hours of engaging gameplay - what else can you desire from a game? Oh, yes - I forgot about graphics. But thats only one thing that you wouldn't find here...Because its totally old-school rpg ... and that's a plus! Reminding me the times when imagination was more important than astonishing visuals. Thank God for indie developers.

Oct 30, 2011one of my favorite games of 2011! An absolute must play for anyone who grew up with and loved playing classic 8 bit/ 16 bit rpgs.
I give this game a 10 because of its entertainment and enjoyment value. -
Mar 15, 2012A really awesome game. Can be a little repetitive, but genuinely funny. Also a lot of faults can be forgiven at the ridiculously cheap price point. If you aren't a foaming COD junkie I recommend it heavily.
-
Jul 27, 2013What is this, a parody game or an actual retro-RPG? Can't really answer. Fact is you'll find yourself pressing the very same button all over again and that's really bad.
-
Nov 7, 2011Really a solid game. It's a throwback to "ye olden times" were games needed humor and solid mechanics to work, CSW does an excellent job of doing just that. It's a nice thing to have read the Lovecraft stories since alot of the mythos will pass by if you dont have, but i do believe that it will prove a enjoyable game even for newcommers to the Lovecraft mythos. Happy gaming

Mar 13, 2012I thought this game was executed very well for what it is, a retro throwback to the great 8-bit RPGs of old. Looking at it in terms of anything else wouldn't be right to do, so suffice to say, this game works for me. How can you not give it a go when it's so low in price?
-
Sep 15, 2011Not being a big JRPG fan I was not certain about this game, but being a sucker for a steam sale, I agreed to throw down the $2.99 for this game. I was delighted to find out how funny and entertaining this game is. I am greatly enjoying it and have recommended it to many of my friends.
-
Apr 13, 2012A delight for fans of old-school Final Fantasy style (turn-based combat) RPGs. Very well designed and written game - it distills the essence of the genre with tongue firmly in cheek and is filled with humour. Not much replay value here, but for the price the developer is asking this is well worth a look.
-
Nov 8, 2011The grind may have gotten annoying time to time, but the humor was great and especially as the game progressed, the battles were fun. Did I mention that the jokes were hilarious? The game is cheap, so if you like a solid old fashioned role-playing experience, this is a game for you!

Apr 15, 2012Great retro style game, very fun to play. If you've read some of H.P. Lovecrafts books the fun factor will be increased, but it is not necessary to understand the plot. One of the best games and a must play for everyone, the price is ridiculously low!
-
Nov 11, 2012This game is so amazing, reminds me of old classics TRUE JRPGs like FF, BOF, DQ, etc.. It's hilarious because makes fun of old rpgs and has a good classic rpg gameplay.
For 1,99 -
Apr 8, 2012Cthulhu Saves the World is a lighthearted RPG with plenty of serious gameplay. I couldn't put it down until I beat the game! Honestly, the best $1 I've eve spent.
-
Jan 13, 2012Funny, simple, and classic. I would recommend to play it on easy mode, because this way you do not have to grind and you can enjoy the funny yet brilliant ideas from the creators.

Oct 27, 2013A worth successor to the ridiculous Breath of Death VII (of which I wish the first 6 titles actually DID exist) VERY old school RPG with old school graphics and a cracking sense of humour.
-
Aug 7, 2013Fun little adventure game with quite a bit of comedy. Can't really say much more to it but there is a lot of re-playable things to it too.
It's a rarther average RPG, most likely made with someone like RPG maker, but it is quite funny and a lot of jokes against your typical RPGs and the Cthulhu mythos. -

Jun 14, 2015This sequel to 'Breath of Death VII: The Beginning' features uninspired graphics - even by SNES standards!
The ironical storyline does not save the day.
You are better off playing any SNES 'Final Fantasy' episode... these are masterpieces! -

-
Oct 2, 2011Are you Final Fantasy old-time classics' devotees? Without hesitation, try this one! Do you love Lovecraft? Without hesitation, try this one! If you are truly positive about your answers, straightway you got to quest for Cthulhu Saves the World! Besides, how long ago you got a chance to play as a he-man (and quite an original one) baddy?

PC GamerSep 13, 2011A really good parody. [Nov 2011, p.76]

Aug 3, 2011A quality game, but at that absurdly low price there's really no excuse to deny yourself of it.
