sinanmJan 14, 2010The gameplay is very bad, just overrated because of the graphics, and thats the only reason why i bought it. The game is bad, the graphic is good. If it had normal graphics it wouldnt have been in top 100

robertsharpNov 22, 2007The game starts out ok but the later levels are horrible. It goes from a nice wide open non linear game to complete linearity. I lost all interest after the Core level because from there on its nothing but alien crap. The end boss was extremely cheesy and seemed like it was added at the last minute just to have a boss.

Jul 9, 2011To me this game offers nothing. The gameplay is weak and the story is boring. The only positive thing are the graphics, but today they look dated, even though I maxed everything out. Not worth a purchase.

Aug 28, 2011very poor copy of Far Cry, who cannot match the prototype. The only advantage of this game is graphics. Don't waste time on it. Better get back to Far Cry.

Jul 17, 2011I hated it. The only thing that's good about it is the graphics. the beginning was all good but then it all turned to be garbage. The flight controls in this game were just dumb. Last boss was a joke. terrible.

12Feb 4, 2010Don't know how this game can be rated so high. Have a 5850 and can played on very high settings, got bored fast. The suit functions don't really help, gameplay fairly repetitive, plot line seems like someone was throwing darts at a dartboard. OOH look, I hit Koreans and ice aliens. That'll be interesting.

ChristophH.Nov 22, 2007It really isn't that good as everybody says... there seems to be no story at all and the graphics aren't as good as the developers wanted us to believe.

IraH.Nov 24, 2007This game's only use is to show how crappy your pc is. Nothing more. Gameplay is exactly the same as FarCry, at least back then it was something new. All this hype for nothing. It's shocking that it got such great reviews... Don't waste your money on this, better spend it in games made by devs who actually respect gamers (COD4 immediately comes to mind...).

I.A.Nov 28, 2007The game is way overhyped, it has nothing apart from top notch graphics, and games should be about gameplay!

JesusG.Nov 22, 2007Crysis as a benchmark is impressive. However as a game it falls flat. Weapons lack any punch whatsoever and the gameplay is mostly generic and uninspired once u get past the impressive photo realistic environments.

RickJ.Nov 21, 2007This is basically a Far Cry 1 game with beef up graphic and a nice little suit, or I should say this is just another CryEngine Tech Demo since the original Far Cry. Story is non-existence and the game play is repetitive.

IvoI.Dec 18, 2007Total Chrome Ripoff! The Nanosuit abilities, the wide open spaces...everything.I'd preffer Chrome over that, despite the amazing graphics.

DannyJ.Dec 19, 2007This is simply a continuation of FarCry with some nicer visual yet mostly the same terrain. If it wasn't for the updated (although) impressive graphics, I'd think this game was 2004 era. Don't buy it. Spend your money on something like Call of Duty 4. Now that's "gameplay", Crysis have non of that. The end

-
PC GamerDestined to be a classic, Crysis is a creative and technological marvel that eclipses every other shooter released this year. [Holiday 2007, p.60]
-
Crysis thrives on putting the onus on you to create your own brand of action and adventure in its stunningly beautiful locations. You and the game can haphazardly create moments of such gaming brilliance that often you pretty much have to stand up and applaud. [Christmas 2007, p.44]

This is some fast, well designed gameplay with enough options to allow players to use their own style of attack with satisfying suit abilities and weapons. Crytek has upped their attention to detail in presentation and dropped the worst parts of "Far Cry’s" story.
