    When I first started playing C2, I was really wowed by the graphics and the environment. The destroyed city was really beautiful and I really enjoyed fighting the CELL troopers. However, as the game went on, I began wishing the game would hurry up and end. I was utterly bored and dissatisfied. Here's why.

    1. The graphics look awesome, but there's too much repetition. The first    When I first started playing C2, I was really wowed by the graphics and the environment. The destroyed city was really beautiful and I really enjoyed fighting the CELL troopers. However, as the game went on, I began wishing the game would hurry up and end. I was utterly bored and dissatisfied. Here's why.

    1. The graphics look awesome, but there's too much repetition. The first time I saw a crashed train, I thought it was cool. But later, I started thinking: How many crashed trains ARE there in this city? There were crashed trains EVERYWHERE. I noticed more and more that there was a LOT of that kind of repetition.

    2. I've come to the conclusion that they named this game Crysis 2 because they couldn't decide between the more accurate titles of "Left Mouse Button: The Game" and "W: The Game." Once you stop seeing CELL troopers and are faced with simply large numbers of rather stupid (increasingly armored) aliens, you have only two choices. You can armor up and shoot your way through. The problem is that it takes a tediously long time to shoot any aliens. I had aliens that could take two or three sticky grenades and still stay up, and some aliens would just soak up bullet. It was boring. The other alternative was to go stealth and sneak past them. And that doesn't always work because if they get too close, they can see you anyway. Sure, it adds tension, but I was disappointed to find that I wasn't really so stealth.

    3. The voice acting in this game is awful. Especially the guy who plays Lockhart with that fake southern accent. It was dumb. The acting was just dumb.

    4. The aliens were stupid. The AI was just awful. I saw aliens running around in circles. I had aliens walk RIGHT INTO oncoming fire. I saw aliens run into walls. I saw one alien repeatedly running into the same wall over and over.

    This game had so much potential, but so little follow through. Here's what would save this game:
    1. More varied environments. Crashed planes, bodies, actual traffic accidents instead of just a bunch of individually wrecked cars.

    2. destructible environment.

    3. REAL stealth

    4. Reduce the amount of damage it takes to kill aliens. Let me kill them faster. In fact: let them kill ME faster too so that I have more reason to keep to stealth and cover.

    5. Better voice actors who can act genuinely and without going over-the-top or using stereotypes.

    6. Better AI. Let the aliens use tactics, cover, proper movement etc.

    7. Make the overall story more engaging. Why are the aliens attacking? Maybe have some detective work to FIGURE OUT how to defeat the enemy instead of having one lame: "Pull this lever to kill all remaining aliens" nonsense.

    EA claims that Nanosuit vs. Aliens and PMC is the sequel of the legendary Crysis 1. We need a reboot now! Ofcourse without EA! Crytek please read this and start thinking about your future! Do you want to be a generic FPS mill? Get out of EA while people still care about your games!

    Crysis 2 is a mediocre game. My breakdown is as follows:

    1. Graphics: 7/10 - excellent, though could be further optimized
    2. Gameplay: 7/10 - great controls and satisfying gameplay with good sound effects
    3. Story: 2/10 - not interesting at all, does not engage audience

    Overall, average game.

    A solid FPS which Graphically strong but lacks any real intuitive game play as well as something different. Worth playing if you enjoyed the first and still a solid experience.

    Good graphics, and very fun to look at. Overall a horrible storyline, the games lacks a good FPS system.

    I didn't find this game fun, it was more of a hassle and the AI is really bad. There are many good FPS games on the PC, this isn't one of them.

In a current state it is not a shooter and not a casual browser game but hey 4 of 10? Are you serious?     This game it's a perfect game for the ones that know how to play it.I finish it a lot of times and every-time in another way,i am a true gamer and i know how to take everything from a good game like this.Best game I ever played!

    A good sequel. However I'm not really thrilled about the amount of urban warfare. It gets old playing in rubble hours after hours. But my biggest issue is with the saving system. Saving checkpoints suck. Especially after you've been working in an area for 10 minutes and get blown away. I'd like to start back up where I died, not at the beginning of the level.     Crysis 2 is not a terrible game but it is underwhelming. My main gripe with the first game was that it wasn't open enough to really show off the impressive graphics. The second game is while not linear much less open than the original. And the game is also restricted to a city that really doesn't do the graphics engine justice. There are only two now and they do not provide any strategical variety.
    The multi-player is a step-up but not very good either. It rips off other games and doesn't do anything new. The number of weapons availble is staggeringly low and they mostly feel the same. The balancing is abysmal and connection problems ruin a lot of what can be relatively fun.    … Expand

    Despite all of its flaws and the lack of graphical improvements over the original Crysis, I rather enjoyed Crysis 2. Nothing amazing or unforgettable, just a very decent game that I would definitely recommend picking up in a steam sale.

    I loved it on console but on PC it feels like a console port its really not for PC the graphics are good but not processor punishing as Crysis and its not really a PC game

    Mostly meh. Game is definitely worse than first part. Plot is so twisted so I believe even plot writers was confused with it. And how in the world you could ruin perfect water from Crysis1 ????

This is certainly among the most stunning games I have played in a very long time and its in thanks to no small part to how the game basks in the light rather than darkness of other graphical darlings like Gears of War. The sandbox style of the levels provide for a level of verticality that the Crysis series needed. Even then after all that, the story while at first seems muddled in corporations, trans-humanism, and an alien invasion, picks up somewhat toward the end but the ending is a bummer. Crysis 2 is a graphical benchmark that at some points is really fun to play, but outside of that, there isn't much else.… Expand

    From open-world to...well... linear gameplay from what I experienced, but is not bad, it certainly has great things, the new Ceph aliens and the CELL antagonist are looking, sound and behave very good.

    The game features as well brand new characters and villains, such as Nathan Gould, the evil CELL corporation, so it has potential, also the nanosuit's improvements are welcome, such as the upgrade modules, and also features new game play mechanics and weapons.

    The inclusion of the Manhattan Virus is interesting, and the goal to find a cure for it is great as well.

    The graphics and the level design are looking very good too, and the unexpected missions, surprises and ending really make it a memorable experience.

    But unfortunately, unlike it's predecessor, the game lacks any boss fights, which in the original where gorgeous, cinematic, and intense.

    So as a final verdict, the new Crysis is more linear, and misses to immortalize some stuff(such as boss fights I mentioned up, and others) to make it be more interesting, but the game even so has a good replay value, interesting story and characters, and game play.    … Expand

Much has been said about the fact that you have to work our way through the streets rather than roam freely, as was possible in the first Crysis game, and it’s true that C2 is less open-world than the original. But it never feels as though you’re being herded and there is some room for exploration within the confines of the streets. But even though this aspect is a little disappointing C2 is an improvement on the original in most aspects. The suit controls have been made far more intuitive and it’s now possible to upgrade it as you gather points through despatching alien invaders. The story is less nebulous than in the first and the action is far more intense, with barely a moment to take a breath at times. The set-pieces are more epic in scope and there’s a real sense of urgency throughout. Sadly it’s not a long game. I took my time but still completed it in a little under 20 hours. But if you like the Crysis franchise this game is a worthy follow up to the original, even though it doesn’t quite have the same overall impact. Now onto Crysis 3 …    … Expand

    Great game. Fairly fun gameplay, but rather confusing at times. Reminds me a bit of Halo (The Original). The graphics are strong and fit the setting well. The world design its self it descent, but could have used a bit more.

Unfortunately I was never able to finish the original (due to aforementioned bugs and glitches), so it's impossible for me to comment on the story since I had absolutely no idea what was going on half the time. I mean sure, you don't really need a lot of context for killing aliens, but it would have been nice to have some sort of personal references and tie-ins to the overall plot. Being said, the combat is fun with only a couple useless weapons, and I'm a huge fan of the streamlined Suit mechanics and customization. Enemy AI seems to have finally graduated elementary school, and actually provides a working challenge beyond cheap deaths and running in circles. Voice acting has also improved by leaps and bounds, although a lot of the actual dialogue ended up feeling over-the-top and needlessly dramatic. Sadly, for all that was done to fix the series, there isn't much to actually make it feel very special. Combat and gameplay is fun, but that's pretty much were the bill stops. Just fun. Nothing particularly awe-inspiring, and no moments that really stuck with me after the credits rolled. Ultimately, Crysis 2 is a solid shooter, and there are much worse ways to spend a rainy weekend, but if you're wanting something more involved, I suggest looking elsewhere.… Expand

In this game I felt like I was constantly trying to figure out the storyline, choose weapons, configure controls and graphics. I felt like I was trying to get the game to work properly - all the way to the epilogue.

    It really shows that this was developed for game-boys. The port to PC just didn't feel right. I started off trying to adjust FOV, and getting my controls set comfortably. The AI was bad, I watched AI enemies chirp and bump and get locked into corners. It really destroyed any chance for immersion.

    I found myself spending way too much time with the visor - checking out other weapon mods. It seemed like playing the game was secondary to "collecting award trinkets". The cut-scenes lacked detail of the overall story, and were confusing. I just didn't see how this game tied into the original story line. It was only after finishing the game and reviewing all of the videos, that I got a sense of what the story was. Weird.

    I feel badly for all of the people who worked hard on the artwork and other piece elements of the game. The whole package - when put together - was just bad.

    I wish I hadn't played this game. Like so many sequels, this one did nothing to enhance the original. But, fortunately, the original is *still* replayable. Whereas this game was a struggle to complete the first time through. I won't be replaying this - and I won't even try the multi-player. I'm going to uninstall immediately and forget about it.    … Expand

Graphics are artistically great but a super high-end system isn't needed. If playing on a real PC be sure to download the DX11 and high-def graphics packages. All in all, the decision from EA/CrytekA pleasant but very linear FPS experience. Well, not quite as linear as the horrible Battlefield 3, but still quite restricted. Graphic options, there ain't any. Prone mode is gone. Crouch is stuck at "toggle" option. Overall, controls are very simplified when compared to original.

    Graphics are great but "consolish", for example, textures are low res at some places and the binoculars can only zoom so much. Obviously, it's designed for low-RAM machinery with moderate hardware. There's also no FPS limit apparently so you'll experience some stuttering on high end machine, an effect of improperly tested console porting but it's acceptable most of the time.

    Gameplay is decent, nothing spectacular but fun and tense at times. The suspense is there almost all the time, game world is immersive although not nearly as deep as original. I have very high expetations of a FPS and I liked the gameplay overall. Aliens are actually scary at the beginning which is a feat considering the age rating. The game atmosphere does manage to fulfill its intended effect which is kind of a "Half Life 2" feeling but with the gore and civilian interaction censored (you can't hit friendlies).

    There's an explanation for all this mediocrity when compared to original - it's PG 16! Yes, friends, while original was rated "M as in Manly", this one is not. This is a kiddie version of Crysis. There's no blood and no faces. You loved massacring those Koreans with nasty vocabulary in the first game? Well tough luck, you'll be fighting a faceless clone army here with their funniest punchline being "he's invincible" because that's what I want to hear as a12 year old superhero. I guess that female suit voice was too sexist for them to risk putting it in. This game is kid-oriented from beginning to the end with retard-proof dynamics and a design with a neutral odorless smell which censorship weasels can't detect. It's still solid fun though, but again, it's a far cry from THE Crysis.

    Game story is politically correct compilation of generic micro events bought from stockstories.com for $1.99, most of the time you won't pay much attention to it, it's there just for the sake of game flow. The original Crysis plot wasn't much better either though.

    With all that said, this is agame designed to attract large crowds, it's not designed to please few thousand hard core PC gamers who loved Crysis 1. You can safely let your 14 year old kids play the game though. I give the game an 8 because it's still better than much of the other stuff out there.    … Expand

I just played Crysis 1 and Warhead, and though those have their own problems, but it was a different experience. You could try out things, discover the area without the threat of doing 10-20 mins of game all over again.     Fancy graphics but pretty much nothing more. Just another linear shooter where you have absolutely no choice on the route that you take. Original Crysis and Crysis Warhead were far better games.

    This game was less better than the first Crysis. Few reasons:
    1.It's not open world like Crysis was.
    2.The aliens were effectively shielded humans with human tactics as well. The aliens in Crysis looked and acted like aliens (flying)
    3. There is no explanation what happened in the end of Crysis.
    But, the graphics were optimized, so on low (high) it looked like very high in the first Crysis.

    Was a massive disappointment and a far cry from what made the original unique. Multiplayer was absolutely terrible and generic. The hacking problem left the servers empty after a few weeks after release. Story was an improvement but the linear game play made me regret my purchase.

I couldn't bear how ugly the game looked so I installed a graphics mod (MaldoHD for anyone interested) and it was a huge improvement. Helped me push through the game.

    The game improves on suit mechanics which make switching between powers a lot easier and allowing for a lot more different tactics in combat and stealth. However, that great feeling of power and speed the previous games gave you while playing completely lost. Movement feels much more restricted, a lot less smooth and the suit feels much weaker as it doesn't quite pack the punch. There's no destructible environment whatsoever. In Crysis you could literally tear apart houses to the ground. Missions are very linear and get boring very fast. Constantly just mindlessly obeying orders by unknown people talking in your earpiece - go to location and destroy/retreive. Loading screen. Go to other location and do same thing. Loading screen. Considering all this takes place between dull looking concrete walls, which made every location in the game look the same, as opposed to the vast, vivid semi-open sandbox world in Crysis filled with lush vegetation, every mission felt twice as tedious.

    There's no mystery behind the aliens and they don't feel like a threat at all. No ominous feeling of dread caused by their presence like in Crysis. There's a lot more focus on story, but it's as compelling as watching paint dry.

    When you get used to all of this the game can even be quite fun, especially when playing stealthy.     Crysis 2 is an ok game but doesnt feel really unique anymore like its predecessor. The battle controls, the aiming and the enemy AI are better which is a very good thing but the overall setting, the repetitiveness of it, the not so good pacing and the overall linearity of it spoil the experience.     A bland fps with little challenge even on the hardest difficulty. Enemy AI is terrible, with many enemys killing themselves with grenades and not noticing the player standing right in front of them. Having not played Crysis 1 as of yet I can say I was impressed by the graphics.

    Crysis 2 does linear story driven FPS campaign by the text book. Its much much more linear game than original for sure, but theres still plenty of levels that have wide open spaces for you to play around with the enemies at your leisure. However what i like the most about Crysis 2 is the gunplay, its only one of few games along Frostbite based Battlefield games where you actualy feel likeCrysis 2 does linear story driven FPS campaign by the text book. While the story didnt win any awards, i still i enjoyed it and it was big step up compared to 2007 game and Warhead. All the sci fi themes and ideas really intrigued me as a sci fi nerd.

    Just excellent game through and through if youre after a great linear campaign based shooter with solid gameplay mechanics. Shame that the MP never kicked off, it also had great potential with all the improved Nanosuit capabilities at your hand.    … Expand

    I am a hard gamer and i can easily say that best forest graphics are made by crytek company. And you can see a good detailed graphic in this game. Playing the game is so joyful. Firing is so comfortable. I am advising this game to all FPS lovers !

However it felt like Crysis in name only. This game just didn't have the same feel as the others games in this continued series. Crysis 2 felt like such a sharp contrast compared to Crysis and CrysisDialled back in scope and vision compared to the first games on the level design.     The second part of the game I really liked in all the aspects of the game-play, plot, graphics and ... its music. Oh yes, this soundtrack, which for a very long time after the game does not go out of my head, and will always be recognized in the future from the first notes of sound.
    The game is not perfect in some little things, but overall - it is a great continuation of interesting story.

I also do not think that it has much replay value, unlike the original Crysis that is, in my opinion, much more replayable. I usually don't have any spoilers in my reviews, but I have to say something here to prove my point: although the aliens here, called The Ceph, are said to be the same aliens from the first Crysis, they literally look nothing like one another, and they behave differently. Also, the end "boss" is quite a disappointment that I was able to own quite easily, pretty anti climatic to be honest. Still, however, as I said, the game is solid and it is pretty fun to play, so that's why I am giving it a solid 8/10, but due to the major faults in the story I cannot rate it any higher.… Expand

Игра напичкана технологичными финтифлюшками по последнему слову ГРАФИКИ, как и, собственно, любая «игра от Crytek». Здесь вам и новомодная тесселяция, текстуры высочайшего разрешения, эффекты глубины резкости, отражения, затенения…. М-м-м, магия… Магия 2011 года. Игра выглядит превосходно, а между прочим она выходила на консолях прошлого поколения.
    Так может ли что-то в столь технологичной погремушке устареть? Конечно. Здесь нет огромных, по современным меркам, локаций, да и с первой частью они не выдерживают никакое сравнение. Но в игре есть элементы вертикального геймплея, от чего игра совсем не похожа не рельсы той же давности от коллег из Infinity Ward, например.

    Вот здесь вы можете зайти противнику в тыл, а можете напасть сверху. А еще вы можете в режиме скрытности перебежать к концу карты вальсируя между капель дождя. Это я так, для романтики сказал. Главное - не задевайте врагов и не шумите, а еще успевайте следить за уровнем заряда. Пусть вы и обезьяна в суперкостюме с двумя пушками и сумкой с гранатами, это вовсе не значит, что пуля безликих врагов не прилетит в вашу шапку. Умереть здесь очень легко, а вот скрываться от врагов бывает трудновато. Видите ли, стелс здесь работает через «обезьяну». Вы не сможете отдышаться в кустах или где-то за углом. Рано или поздно, вас все равно как-то заметят. Мне кажется, враги всегда знают где вы, просто притворяются. В игре также можно кидаться кирпичами, цветами и даже инопланетянами. Зачем? А пёс их знает. Однако, быстрее уж так убить недруга, чем подарить ему тонну свинца.
    А ЕЩЕ ЗДЕСЬ есть очень скучные и совсем ненужные уровни, которые как раз могут являться оммажем на колею от упомянутых ранее калек. Что странно, так это то, что они находятся в самой середине игры и представляют собой что-то максимально бессмысленное. Я не понял, зачем я иду туда, куда иду, чего ради и что мне за это будет. И пробежать это тоже не выйдет. В какой-то момент это превратиться в оборону одной точки и побегушки взад-назад.

    Хотите вернуться в Crysis 2? Не вопрос, всем советую. Игра и сейчас вполне увлекательна и почти не вызывает аллергии. Она во многом копирует Half-Life 2, что не раз отмечалось во всяких обзорах. Даже свои хедкрабы есть. Кроме того, Crysis 2 и в 2020 году способна дергаться на средних компьютерах. Чем не повод понервничать перед релизом Crysis Remastered? А вы уже собрали печку своей мечты? Действия куда более монотонны, чем в warhead, локации однообразны, ИИ абсолютно такой же, как в предыдущих частях, в этом плане прогресса не наблюдается. Музыка,кстати, шикарна, неудивительно, ведь ее писал сам Ханс Циммер, она прекрасно передает атмосферу игры. Физику окружения они немного улучшили, но проявляется это лишь в пинании машин, интерактивности не хватает. Сам главный герой - Алькатрас - всю игру молчит, если в warhead мы имели полноценного персонажа, то тут все гораздо слабее, мы по сути зомбаком управляем. В отличие от первой части, игра полностью линейна, доп. миссий так же нет. И так, как игра была выпущена в 2011 году, высокую оценку ей поставить никак нельзя, ведь колда на тот момент была гораздо лучше и интереснее, предыдущие части в плане сюжета и его подачи так же выделялись на фоне второй части, мир к тому моменту уже успел повидать третий Battlefield, Splinter cell Conviction и т.д. В общем и целом, игра объективно слабее предыдущих своих частей в плане сюжета, его подачи, оружие ощущается хуже, чем в аддоне к первой, ИИ такое же унылое г, боссов теперь вообще нет, главный герой никакущий, в итоге были проработаны отдельные мелочи, в частности, костюм, но глобально игра стала хуже.… Expand

    They added a lot of single player contents, but the game is no longer the open-world shooter like its predecessor, and instead transitioned into a semi-linear action shooter game, where you shoot way more aliens than humans now. Not that it is a bad thing, and I actually enjoyed this a lot more.

    The stealth is still not very good. Using silenced pistol is way over-powered, and if you are being noticed, the whole army knows where you are, and there isn't an easy way to restart the mission except to quit to the menu.

    Some of the aliens are very annoying to kill. They are often times too swarmy (too many swarms towards you at a time), or too bullet-spongy (you gotta waste a few clips just to possibly kill them).

    The story is not bad, but I don't like the fact that they changed the alien from the first game into the one in this game. Although the world story is supposed to be a sequel to the first game, it doesn't feel like it.    … Expand

El apartado gráfico esCrysis 2 es un buen juego de acción y disparos, lo que no quiere decir que sea un buen Crysis. Los fans esperaban algo como pasar de Half-Life 1 a Half-Life 2, pero se encontraron con un juego que era "pasillero" y con mucha acción y poca estrategia.     I absolutley love that game. It's one of the first games i played and i have great memories of it. I know it has it's flaws but it will always have a special place in my heart.

    Story and presentation is better than first game.

    It is very linear yes but gameplay is more refined. Shooting, powers, movement feels much better. Aliens are more fun to fight. I just wish we had more actions with nanosuit.

    No manual saves, there are only checkpoints.

    Graphics are amazing.

    Hearing nanosuit's voice never gets old.

    Graphics still look very good after 10 years of its release. But there are lots of bugs, crashes and graphical glitches which are annoying. Story is not that bad, but it's nowhere near to being exciting. Not very bad overall, but it's a big dissappointment after the first game.

The shooting was not finished for 2 years (although even 7 years before the release of C2 there was Far Cry with an excellent shooting impact), Batman Arkham City or the C1 has better graphics that C2.     When we played Crysis 2 on the consoles, we honestly could have taken or left it. Only on the PC do we feel comfortable recommending and replaying Crytek's best game yet – and its first chance of matching technical prowess with good game design.
