    Always requires internet connection to play a single player game. Doesn't support 21:9. Controller support is abysmal. If you don't have an xbox one controller it is a crapshoot if yours will work or not. They really screwed this game over by putting it on the BNET launcher.

    Reading reviews did not really help me to know if this game is good or bad, plus I really dont care about needed internet connection or not...
    I was a great fan of Crash Bandicoot & Crash Team Racing when I was younger, so for those people who would like to replay and feel a second time, with nowadays graphics, this game should satisfy you.

    Not only does it have now-pointless online DRM, both because there are no current online features and it's already been cracked, but it's failing to recognize any input from my standard Xbox Series X controller, despite apparently acknowledging that it's plugged in.

    this is a surprising jump back to the old school style of crash bandicoot, However it has a few glitches, bugs, and other small details that really make it more of a good game rather than a great game. aside from that though its near perfect, hard but a nice game for those that were awaiting a new crash game

    Now i understand why they didnt release any proper crash in 20 years, this game is sadly bad.
    Those three original parts were great om their own, they were better and better part to part.
    To release such an embaresment in 2020 is a disgrace. This game has no soul or quality put into it, it just says here’s some buggy unpolished runner on Bandicoot brand we gonna milk money from.

    Crash 4 is a great game there is no doubt that the developer team made a great game and for PC is a great port, that being said, having to download a new launcher just to play the game, having to be online to be able to play the game is just a greedy move from Activision and I am not surprised to be honest.     Honestly everything Toys for bob has done to this game is awful. The new Masks, the over use of boxes, the gems. just... everything about this game is frustrating. There is too many boxes hidden in every level. What makes it worse is every level is double the size of the first three crash games.     Really fun game. Reminds me a lot of the old ones, but the graphics are really good and the game feels very polished.

    Game is fun but just playing straight foward.
    Collecting crates is a chore, some are hidden and even if you thought you break all the crates, there's still some missing out of the sight which is dumb. Time trials are way more longer, if you screw up dying you will have to start over. Some n verted levels are crazy bad design graphicly, colors are really strong causing pain for you sight.

    Easily the best crash bandicoot game I have ever played. The visuals and art style are amazing, it had some of the best graphics in any crash bandicoot game, the level design is top notch with some of the most creative and varied levels in any platforming game, the gameplay is superb the controls are very tight, almost every level have unique characteristics and enemies with cleverlyEasily the best crash bandicoot game I have ever played. However can't give it a 10/10  because of the loading times and other few nitpicks, getting the box gem can be a fun challenge but some of the levels have boxes hidden of screen so you will miss boxes a lot and it's a cheap way to force you replaying the levels and wait for a long loading times, but collecting boxes is not the only side stuff you can do, you have time trials of course and the no death gem and the perfect relics, and the perfect relics are ridiculous the levels are too long and difficult so beating them while breaking every box and not dying just don't work it's not fun it's just tedious because you have to wait around half minute every time you replay the levels, a solution for this is just remove the loading screen and the completion will be more than fine and manageable, the inverted mode is cool but I don't know why you have to collect six gems in every level again, the flashback tapes are the only great side content it'll give you new levels and extra dialogues, those things are optional so don't bother doing them if you are not interested, playing the game casually and just going from level to level and enjoying the level design until you beat the story it's one of the best platforming games ever made… Expand

    This was a really decent game don't get me wrong but it does have some of its flaws( played it on PC). Some of the mechanics are pretty buggy and jittery (gravity one especially) which can make precise platforming very difficult. At the start you won't feel it as bad but by the end world it's literally hell and can take you a whole lot of time and lives to finish it.     I'm just going to rate and write about the game itself, so I'm putting aside the internet and controller problems.
    The most interesting part about game was design of levels and diversity of environments; Simply the game visually was astonishing. The story was also good and intriguing.     The part I disliked about the game: It was frustratingly hard! Of course there's nothing wrong with the game being difficult, but what makes it frustrating is outdated checkpoint system. You have to go through some obstacles over and over again and get all wumpa fruits every time you die.
    Another minor problem was about skins in game. It's almost impossible to get all collectibles in a level to get a skin. It would be better if the player could buy skins with certain amount of diamonds. Collecting every wumpa fruits for a skin just doesn't make sense.
    To conclude, I'm glad that they didn't ruin the series, because usually when developers want to revive a series they usually mess up. At last Crash Bandicoot 4 is an amazing and fun to play game, but can make you crazy sometimes specially if you're playing it with a KEYBOARD!    … Expand

    I've played a number of difficult games, but never anything like Crash Bandicoot 4. If I managed to accidentally pass a level after many attempts, it was only through sheer luck, so I didn't even feel any satisfaction.
    The original Crash games were very difficult, but still playable for a normal person. This one is only for speedrunners and similar hardcore gamers. Unfortunately, if the developers made the game just a little bit accessible, there would be hateful comments from this type of people everywhere. So in fear of them, the developers have made them practically the only target category of their game.
    The game might have deserved an extra star for its nice graphics, but because it's so awful in gameplay, I have to give it the lowest score.    … Expand

    N' sane Trilogy did very well with taking him back. Crash 4 continues a legacy that stopped 2 gens back. I starts slow and patiently introduces you to the new mechanics with no hurry to learn them, you can use them whenever they're needed; levels respect this, if you don't want to do them then the game doesn't punish you with it but you still need to learn them to get all collectibles; nowN' sane Trilogy did very well with taking him back. Crash 4 continues a legacy that stopped 2 gens back. I starts slow and patiently introduces you to the new mechanics with no hurry to learn them, you can use them whenever they're needed; levels respect this, if you don't want to do them then the game doesn't punish you with it but you still need to learn them to get all collectibles; now that we're talking about mechanics, the move of the characters are fresh and smooth; very accurate to the player's orders; specially on jumps thanks to the circle that shows where you're going to land. The voice cast is good, they make voices be with the character appearance; with them came a fresh redesign in some of them like Coco or Tawna for example.

    But not everything is good, and in this game the nightmare are collectibles. Remember when i said that you needed to learn new mechanics to get them? Well, some are insane and someone with no much time is not able to learn them and use them to get all of them in all of the levels. There's another thing, the formula of getting something powerful to beat the villain on the game; that has been on crash games since the begining and it seems a bit burned after all these years.

    Is it a bad game? No, if you're not a completionist. Casual players and newcommers can enjoy a lot the game equally; completionists, that's another story... hard but not impossible.    … Expand

    Después de haber completado la historia de Crash Bandicoot 4, puedo decir que es un juegazo.     Después de haber completado la historia de Crash Bandicoot 4, puedo decir que es un juegazo. Hay que hacer unos cuantos matices antes de entrar en profundidad en el juego: si eres un completista nato que se hace todos los juegos al 100% o más (dependiendo del juego), planteate la compra (menos si has completado los otros Crash Bandicoots al máximo). Por el resto, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time es una muy buena continuación de la trilogía original de PSX.

    Jugablemente, han hecho unas cuantas mejoras respecto a la N. Sane Trilogy. El movimiento de Crash y de Coco se siente más fluido, ahora hay dos modos (el moderno sin vidas y el clásico con vidas), han añadido un círculo cada vez que saltas que indica dónde vas a caer (una mejora que parece simple, pero que marca la diferencia), han añadido más personajes que hacen que el juego se sienta diferente (aunque después hablaré más de eso) y en general, han añadido más contenido.

    El diseño de niveles es muy bueno. Con las 4 máscaras nuevas que dan distintas capacidades (que se exprimen mucho a lo largo del juego), los niveles se sienten más variados (aun siguiendo muchos el estilo de los originales). Estos tienen un carácter más abierto que los originales, dando muchas veces la opción de desviarte para conseguir un coleccionable. En este juego hay 4 tipos de niveles: los normales, la N. Versión (que son como los originales pero con alguna cosa cambiada visualmente y que están del revés de derecha a izquierda), los jefes y las líneas temporales alternativas o algo así. Quiero centrarme en estos últimos. Si bien no me han parecido malos, si que me molesta que te corten en medio del nivel para que hagas la otra mitad con Crash, ya que se siente más como una excusa y rejugarte la mitad del nivel molesta.

    Visualmente, es un salto enorme respecto a los remasters. Le da al juego un estilo cartoon que es el que realmente le pega a la saga. Y la música, es Crash Bandicoot, temazo tras temazo (aunque es la peor de toda la saga a mi parecer)

    La historia es simple, pero tiene giros que la hacen ser ligeramente más distinta y en general es más interesante que las de los originales, pero no os esperéis una narrativa mucho más compleja.

    En resumen, Crash Bandicoot 4: It`s About Time es un juegazo y una muy buena continuación de los Crash Bandicoots originales. Su dificultad en la última parte puede llegar a ser absurda, pero por el resto, es un muy buen juego: Recomendadísimo.    … Expand

    Crash 4 è senza ombra di dubbio il miglior Crash di sempre, fatto con amore e passione verso il bandicoot arancione. Difficile ma divertente al tempo stesso. Storia abbastanza lunga per il genere platform, un piacere da giocare.

    The story is half decent, definitely caters to a younger, more childish audience but some of the stupidity in the little cut-scenes are still a little funny, sort of like how even as an adult, one can find Spongebob Squarepants entertaining.

    Story-wise, the game revolves around N. Tropy and Cortex escaping their prison through some kind of quantum space time travel and in order to deal with them you will need the help of five different masks, similar to Uka-Uka and Aku-Aku from previous titles, except these ones are to do with space and time. Effectively it's your job to collect them and bring balance to the universe.

    The gameplay is what you'd expect from a Crash Bandicoot game, but the more pleasant and welcome surprise are the addition of some different kinds of boxes, there aren't a lot of new ones but enough to make you go. "Oh yeah, these are new." And add a slightly new element to the game.

    I won't spoil too much as to what the masks do but what I will say is; during segments in missions you'll get to wear these new masks and they add a new platforming mechanic to the game.

    The most enjoyable and the most welcome feature that was added, was the new playable characters. Instead of just playing Coco and Crash, you get to play as Tawna, Cortex and Dingodile. Yes, Dingodile! After you do their first mission, the game unlocks more missions for you to play as them, giving you more content!
    The reason why I'm so passionate about this side of the game is that I feel with the state of the gaming industry, these missions could have -easily- been three paid DLC's. Extra missions as new characters. But nope, entirely built into the game.

    I do have some criticisms about the game though which are similar to that of the N.Sane trilogy. Some of the jumping is insanely precise and require quick rapid movements. You will get tilted and annoyed playing some of the missions but that's part and parcel with most platformers.

    For a completionist, you'll have a good time if you can stick it out, there's a lot to do but I felt that in some missions there were just too many boxes. I really wanted to get different skins that the game offered but the idea of hunting down 272 boxes in a level massively put me off. Luckily there's full guides out there to help you.

    Overall, Crash Bandicoot 4, if it's only one Crash game you're looking to play on Steam or any modern consoles, this is absolutely the one to play over N. Sane Trilogy. The amount of content you get for the money you pay is absolutely worth it but only if you're going to do it all.

    For me, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is a solid 6/10. A good story, great content, good to play as old characters and new ones but sometimes it was just winding me up to the point where I felt aggravated.

    P.S. Please remake or remaster Crash Twinsanity, it's the best one in the franchise.    … Expand

    This game is too hard. Don't even bother trying to get all the boxes. What were the developers thinking? Way harder than the first 3. The sad thing is there was a lot of fun potential to this game, ruined by ridiculously hard challenges.

    From the gameplay to the story, the heart and soul of Crash Bandicoot is here, and still as exciting as ever. It’s amazing that a series that has been so beloved by fans, and has spawned countless spin-offs - some great, and some not so much - has managed to return without feeling any different. It’s like the past 20 years has been one long fever dream for Crash, and he’s now awoken from a deep slumber for one last triumphant return.

    Crash 4 is the kind of retro throwback that actually earns its spot as a successor to the original trilogy. There’s the occasional bandicoot stumble, but it's a responsive, precise platformer that looks as good as it plays.

    A great game, even if it's horribly frustrating a lot of the time. While it's a wonderful follow-up to a classic series, this port makes it a bit of a tougher sell than other versions of the game.
