For the small amount of money I spent on this game, I have over 34 hours played between my girlfriend and I, and we still love it. The progression gets really tough, as you work your way through the different challenges, and your restaurant becomes more popular. You have more people to serve, more difficult foods to make, and the random chores thrown in. This game is the perfect fast paced, challenging game to play when you're bored, on the go, or burnt out on your major Steam games. Would definitely recommend to my friends.

Food is prepared and served by hitting the right key combination so that you get the requested ingredients right. Most foods you purchase will have several different ways of preparing them, and as you upgrade your foods, it adds even more recipes, while allowing you to charge more.

In order to increase the star rating of your restaurant, you must meet a different list of requirements each time. These sometimes include some of the "side missions" such as catering, cooking shows, etc.

It is difficult to explain but the structure of the game feels right. The art style is really great, the music is great... everything just fits together to make you want to keep playing. Not the most complex game ever, but totally worth its price.

If you've ever wanted the thrill of running a restaurant, well this is a game so you're not going to get any thrills like that. However if you've ever wanted the thrill of pretending you run a restarant with tasks done in the form of minigames, then there are lots of thrills to be had here.

First off, you start out with 4 menu slots and enough cash to buy some stuff. You can buy a grill, a fryer, an industrial stove for making soups and stuff, etc. You also get to pick food ranging from simple to complicated, and quick to "needs lots of prep time". Food can also be upgraded to allow you more options and more money.

A typical day goes like this: you choose your menu items, you start the day and people stop in and give you orders. It could be "I need a large water with flavor blast and no ice" or "one corn dog with nothing on it" or maybe even "3 meat patties, cheese bacon and tomato" or whatever. As long as you don't make any mistakes and don't take too long, the customer is happy and you get some extra "buzz" from it. Make a few mistakes and the customer walks away unsatisfied but otherwise ok (no buzz). REALLY screw things up and he gets mad and you lose buzz.

Oh and while you're doing all of this, there's dishes to be done, there's trash to throw out, rat traps to reset, toilets to flush, and the occasional blog post that needs thumbing up because it could raise your buzz.

The game is relatively simple, but yet it's just challenging enough to make you feel like you accomplished something when you go a full day with no bad orders, or if you made a really good streak of perfect orders. It takes some practice to get used to it, and sometimes adding a new item to the menu can throw you off your game, but you really have to keep changing up the menu to keep it fresh and interesting (both for you and for the customers in game).

The game is very charming with jazzy music that plays at various times of the day, for various weather conditions, and during rush hour (among other events). The art style is kinda like a childrens book, but it doesn't detract from the game and maybe adds a little flavor to it (since the customers you get depend on how good your restaurant is).

If you dislike minigames or QTE style games, you should probably pass on CSD, but if you like trying to multitask and you don't mind the physical challenge of having to hit certain keys (sometimes in a certain order) then this is worth a look. I've enjoyed CSD... maybe you will too?

Most dishes are somewhat simple to prepare. Click a few buttons, try to replicate what the customer asked for, let it cook, and send it. The difficulty is in perfecting the dish so that you can serve it many times over the course of the day, and do it quickly and correctly. Choose your menu items carefully, because some dishes might really trip you up when you're presse for time. The farther you get through the game, the harder it gets, and New Game+ mode is pure insanity. Insanely tough and insanely fun.

There's really not much to complain about with this game. The controls are pretty solid (I recommend a game controller), the music is very nice, and the art is stylish and pleasant. This game is surprisingly well polished for an indie game.

Cook, Serve, Delicious is absolutely worth buying, and I could recommend it to just about anybody. It's honestly among the best games I've played in recent years.

It's quite a good game, but some things are quite annoying. Especially the wine, because I have to tab, and my arm hurts after 1 single in-game day. Nevertheless, the 'Rush hours' are very funny. Just doing stuff ridiculously quickly. I really enjoy the game!

Some of the foods are just a little TOO complex, sometimes detracting from the experience a bit. Aside from that though, Cook, Serve, Delicious is a "delicious" little strategy-slash-management simulator which will keep you entertained for a long time. Expand

You will be facing new challenges as you play more and more. New food means new button memorization. Especially the rush hour that you encouter adds a huge dynamic to the game!. I have to admit that it can get repetitive after a long gameplay but it takes a long time to get to that point in the game when you unlock everything and have nothing more to do with the game.

I will definitely recommend this game to anyone and everybody can get fun with the simplicity of the game mechanics. Go pick this up!

This game is a mindless time waster. Simplistic interface, very grindy, and lots of impatient people. Just like real life! I looked forward to the next "food upgrade" while my cash and buzz drop to nothing as I am the only employee doing everything from cleaning the toilets only to rush back and make a pizza. It reminds me of Lucille Ball runs a restaurant. It can get really funny.

There is nothing 'hardcore' about this game, nor is it a sim by any fetch of the imagination. It's a mindless button smasher that requires you to think fast with your fingers. It's a relatively simple game with no complexity to it at all, hardly hardcore. I get the feeling that the marketing language used behind this game would be perfect for the Android/IOS but even saying that, it's a very shallow experience for the smart phones and even shallower for the PC.

If your expecting a restaurant simulation, this ain't it. At best all you have to worry about is filling your orders on-time. Hell, it should be called 'Order, Serve!'. There is no management aspect to speak of. You get a simple menu interface for upgrades for your food bar and even those are simplistic. You can't even adjust the prices of your food. My main gripe with this game is that it calls itself a hardcore sim, which I keep on repeating, only because I have to nail the point down that this is indeed not a sim of any kind and does much injustice to sell itself as one. I feel those who voted for this on Greenlight have been misled.

It's a shame because with a bit more complexity to it, perhaps it could be a good game. Unfortunately this game isn't about managing a business. It's about filling your customer orders on time, and that's as far as this game goes.

If you don't mind that, and your looking for a simple button basher of a game that deals with food, well, this is it. If you want more than simply just cooking your food, then avoid.

This game was fun for about an hour. Then it's a repetitive grind. I couldn't be bothered to get past the second stage because of how dull it was.

I can't believe that this game is on Steam, much less that I wasted 8.99 on it.

Fun for one or two hours, between big Downloads. Nice flash game for PC. Motivation about reward. But after the first two or three stages (Level) I lost interest to go one. Negative, you can not create own dine. That and the huge "Stress-factor" makes the game even a "Fill the Gap" and is mostly waste of time.

Interesante como concepto pero muy mal desarrollado, se transforma en una situación de tedio al poco tiempo de jugar y con mínimas posibilidades de gestión estratégica. No vale la pena.

Rather hectic and fast paced restaurant management game which reminds me of when I worked in cafes and lunch bars.

Dislike that there is no option to have other staff, just 1 person, serving, cooking and cleaning. Bit too crazy as most places have at least 4 staff. Not just one person to do everything. As a manager I would rather not do the cleaning and pay someone to do it. Wish

Bit too crazy as most places have at least 4 staff. Not just one person to do everything.

As a manager I would rather not do the cleaning and pay someone to do it. Wish the game allowed you to hire staff, at least a cleaner.

Dislike how I have to do iron cook show challenges to get 3 stars. Don't think I can pass it. I can't do 5 fast paced rounds and not make more than 2 mistakes.

This is not a true restaurant sim as you're the only one working in a restaurant which is insane. You can't hire staff, you can't choose prices for the food.

Lack of realism aside I enjoy the game mostly, it's very addictive despite being stressful, frustrating and fast paced I like the challenge up to a point.

6/10. doesn't get higher as the fun eventually wears off and gets too fast, stressful, no longer fun and eventually feels worse than a real job.

Game is simple, challenging but not insane, and addicting with so many upgrades on the foods. Bought it in a bundle so worth it!

The grind is expected from games like these, but it keeps you coming back more. Good time waster.

Cook, Serve, Delicious! isn’t trying to impress you that much, it is just all serving up a healthy dose of fun with a side helping of frenzied action.
