I own both a Rift and a Quest and this game supports both cross buy and cross play, so I have been able to play cooperatively with my wife. There in lies the gist of the problem for me. Dear wife is constantly asking when we can make sandwiches again. The first time I happily misconstrued this as lunch time, but now I know that it means she wants another session of cooperative Cook-out!I own both a Rift and a Quest and this game supports both cross buy and cross play, so I have been able to play cooperatively with my wife. Now I love this game a lot. The graphics and sounds are great. The controls are simple and intuitive and we are having a blast playing together. However, I like a varied diet in my VR pandemic life, and I want some time to enjoy many of my other great VR games but it is hard to go against the wife.

Fortunately, Cook-out gets challenging pretty quickly so all these extra sandwich making sessions are helping us improve our skills. While we struggle with some later levels, it is simple to go back to earlier levels and work on perfect scores. We are getting better and some day we will graduate as Master Chefs! In the meantime, marriage is a sacrifice but playing Cook-out with my sweetheart is actually pretty awesome.

We spent more than an hour playing the game, working up a sweat and having a lot of laughs. If that’s what you like in your VR games, I highly recommend this title.

Four-player sandwich-making chaos reigns supreme in. Best played with friends, but mostly capable solo, Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale delivers hours of cooperative chaos. Now we just have to hope that this VR culinary fantasy adventure can find its way onto other platforms so I can burn bread with my pals.

Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale brings the stress and chaos of being a cook into the comfort of your own home, and that is absolutely a wonderful thing. Playing online with friends is the best way to experience the game, which offers plenty of fun mechanics and challenging levels to play over and over again (including an endless mode). In fact, at only $20, Cook-Out provides a surprisingly large amount of content. Resolution Games’ has cooked up something special with its latest immersive VR title, which is fun and inviting for any wannabe chef.
