I was pleasently surprised by Conarium. I kind of expected a run and hide horror game for some reason, which isn't my cup of tea, where what I got was a nice HP Lovecraft puzzle/adventure game. It had great atmosphere and a good story. The puzzles for the most part are well done with the exception of two that annoyed me. A couple of other things I will mention are that while it doesn't list supporting AMD graphics cards for Linux I had no issues using mine and also it uses a lot less RAM than it has for the requirements. My total system RAM usage was 2.5-3GB while they list 6GB foir the minimums. I'd give the game 7/10.

    Pros:
    - Ran very well, framerate was usually 80+
    - Manual save system
    - Didn't crash once
    - Decent amount of graphics options
    - Great atmosphere
    - Good story

    Cons:
    - The odd graphical glitch such as an area not being lit properly by the flashlight
    - A couple annoying puzzles
    - Some Steam achievments didn't seem to work for me
    - Only seemed to use 1 core of my CPU (1 was at 60% while the rest at less than 20%)

My system used to play this game:

    AMD FX-9590 | 16GB DDR3-2133 | MSI RX 580 8GB Gaming X | Mesa 17.3.6 | Samsung 850 Evo 250GB | Solus 3 | Kernel 4.15.7-60.current | AOC G2460P @1920*1080 144hz

A delightful creation based on the works of G. Lovecraft, as a recognized fan, responsibly declare that this is the best I've seen: a harmonious symbiosis of grim history, cosmogonic secrets, the perfect sound and video sequence, coupled with delight from numerous references to stories.

It's alright. There were some pretty cool moments, but overall it's not a very memorable experience.

An Absolute MUST PLAY for any fan of H.P. Lovecraft! A faithfully retold walking sim version of At The Mountains Of Madness!

After the boring submarine, the game turns into garbage. Interesting rooms with things and notes, are replaced by completely empty and huge caves. I just did not play anymore.
Many would not agree with me,but i think that notes are much better than voices and holograms. Secrets here are more interesting than the whole game. I do not mean puzzles, I am talking about secret places.

So far a good game. I like the story content and the the setting invites for further investigation.

Conarium’s story is a fine addition to the Lovecraft universe, but doesn’t make for a compelling gaming experience, so only the acclaimed horror author’s devotees will likely find much of interest.

Conarium is a game with a lot of potential. Those early hours spent with it will prove to be difficult to walk away from. However, it is too willing to toss away its fairly slow and tense pace to thrust forward the reveal of the truth behind its mysteries. With those questions gone, all that remains is a standard adventure experience of some puzzles and brainteasers on the way to the end of the story.

    A truly amazing tribute to H.P Lovecraft. [09/2017, p.66]
