The more you stretch, the more you realise this isn’t just a game, it’s an absurd fever dream where you’re a stretchy hero who never asked for this. But, hey, at least you’re having fun, right?

A platformer where jumping isn’t that important, and you can hang onto the outside of a monorail for as long as you like. A nice, cosy time.

Completely Stretchy is the perfect game if you are looking for a couple of hours of fun on your own, full of laughs. Its simple 3D platforming gameplay with your stretchy arm makes it easy for anyone regardless of gaming expertise to master. Despite only a couple of hours of gameplay, it’s just enough time to uncover a simple story and live amongst bizarre characters doing weird things in even weirder locations.

Completely Stretchy is a silly exploration game with fun movement and a great vibe, but it has a few issues that might frustrate you.

Swinging around the Grombi islands mostly works and interacting with inhabitants can be comical. But without the possibility of even causing accidental mischief, Completely Stretchy’s open world can feel a bit sterile.

Despite its colorful world and fun movement mechanics, Completely Stretchy fails to capture the essence of its inspirations, offering a shallow experience with a restrictive open world, uninspired objectives, and limited interaction beyond its quirky aesthetics. Its art direction and humorous dialogues provide some charm, but the game ultimately feels like a watered-down version of Sludge Life with little new to offer.

Completely Stretchy is a very finicky game, and unfortunately has a lot of jank to it - I actually ended up getting soft-locked from one of the quests, seemingly one of the major ones to acquire an item that furthers progression. This occurred due to the game not really liking when the player character is moved by objects besides their stretchy arm, so became glitched outside of an elevator as it lowered down, There was a button up above to call the elevator, but it didn't appear to work. I went back a few times after the fact to see if it resolved itself, and even tried glitching back into place to try continuing the quest, but unfortunately there wasn't any luck. The only solution within Completely Stretchy would probably be to start a new save file. The game is short at least, so there's that, but losing progress is frustrating, even in a short game. If the softlock were fixed somehow, then it would be much easier to recommend Completely Stretchy, but as the game currently stands, it is enjoyable but rather flawed.
