There simply isn't a better compilation of Command & Conquer material. You could buy each game individually and set up the appropriate hacks to make them work, but you can bet that EA won't be patching those - this compilation is where your future support lies...hopefully.
-
In their time, many of these could be considered great titles, but there’s nothing new here. There’s old here. There’s some very old here. Some very, very old here. If they had done something, included another Generals expansion packlet just to give me the inkling that perhaps they had put some work into this collection rather than just stuffed it into a box, I might be more favorable towards it. But they didn’t.
-
AceGamezHopefully any future release will benefit from vigorous testing before release, a privilege that hasn't seemed to have been granted to this collection.
-
I lean back in my chair and, in a moment of grim lucidity I realise: all of these games are already in a cardboard box in the shed.
-
C&C: The First Decade will have all C&C aficionados waxing nostalgic for the good old days of GDI versus Nod, Kane and Yuri, and of course, Tanya, the sexiest female gaming character next to Lady Croft.
-
With some more care and ambition, Command & Conquer: The First Decade could have been the single greatest compilation of all time, a must-have for vets and newbies alike. Instead, it's actually only appealing to fans of a few of the titles that are still playable, and it's just a buggy nostalgia trip for everyone else.

PC Gamer UKThe older games, while classics, are woefully dated. And the more recent titles, themselves more than two years old, don't justify the hefty price. [Apr 2006, p.95]
-
It shows its age, and some titles are better then others, but all the cinemas are intact and some games never get boring.
-
The occasional crashes in the older ones are a little annoying, but they’re still quite playable, and with all their expansions you could easily spend months playing against the AI alone.
-
PC FormatYou're better off tracking down a copy of "Red Alert 2" on its own. [Sept 2006, p.101]
-
A lot of what made Command & Conquer great comes through in this package, but a few rough edges make it all seem a little sloppy.
-
All the storylines were so creatively done it’s a wonder that Westwood or EA has not jumped on the bandwagon and gone Hollywood.
