Officially localized three decades after the original release, Clock Tower: Rewind is a perfectly passable way to experience what was once officially a Japan-exclusive piece of horror history. This is the real, first Clock Tower experience warts and all, along with a smattering of goodies that will delight longtime fans – even if it feels like an inconsistent package throughout.

Clock Tower: Rewind is for fans of old horror games in general and the Clock Tower series in particular. The original was great, but the developers of the Rewind edition made no effort to improve the graphics and sound.

Survival horror adventure in a new guise that takes you back to the genre's beginnings. It still has a lot to offer, but overall it has received only minor changes and improvements.

The newest iteration of the original Clock Tower offers some welcome improvements, such as a rewind feature and the ability to save at any time. However, it remains a game of its era, which will probably feel dated to newer gamers.

Clock Tower Rewind brings the cult classic horror game to western shores for the first time with some added convenience features and bonuses to boot. However, the game's intrinsic point and click adventure game DNA feels outdated and flawed. If you don't mind using a guide to help in your pixel hunt and solve archaic solutions, this remaster of one of the most influential horror games of the 90s comes recommended.
