It's a must-buy 10 if you ever enjoyed any version of SimCity in your life. It is BETTER THAN ALL VERSIONS OF SIMCITY (even SC4). It already has a staggering number of mods on Steam Workshop just a week or so after release. This game will have 10k+ mods and user-created content in a month.

I preordered and played the newest SimCity - and was so disappointed. I would never go back to

I haven't gotten this sucked in to a game since WoW.

It feels so good to sink your teeth into a really polished and deep game system like Cities:Skylines. I've spent nearly every waking minute since this game came out tweaking and perfecting a half a dozen different cities while figuring out how everthing works.

    A true joy.

How do I know this is a great game? Thought, I'll just fire it up, make sure it works as I intended to play BF4. 4 hours later, I'm balls deep in cultivating a high ed, high tech city of awesomeness.

The fact it has strong mod support means this game will have legs and you'll get years of enjoyment from this game for frankly a tiny amount of money.

For a game developed by just 9 people, this is an exceptional achievement. The game looks slick, it feels optimised. There are no crashes, no glitches, no weird "we'll patch that out later" crap you find in nearly all new EA titles. Skylines shows that indy games can not only compete but excel against traditional big money publishers. You don't need social media "experts", you don't need to spend more on marketing than a small African country. You just need to create a game with passion, listen to your customers, and deliver a great game for a fair price.

I'm still just getting started, my little town has grown to a huge city and I've only just filled 1 2km square, I've just scratched the surface so far and haven't even looked at the huge number of mods available on Steam Workshop.

The developers have done a great job with this game and I only paid £14.99 for it which IMO is an absolute bargain. If you like city building sims you will love this game, I highly recommend it.

The game is great, bur it's not the game itself that I love most. It's the creators way of handle things, the price is not ridiculously high, playing this game finally I don't have a feeling thai I'm being ripped off with micro transactions, DLC etc. ubisoft, ea and others watch and learn!!!

Fantasitically solid. Look forward to what they could add on to make the very end game (20-50+ hours in one city) interesting. There's a ton of potential on top of the base of this game.

What you have is a city-building game that will keep you addicted for weeks on end, due to the great pleasure this game offers by just giving you the opportunity to go nuts and build the city you have in your mind, and ofcourse the pleasure of razing half of it after a while to make more room for railroads and highways because of traffic congestions..

This has filled the void in my city planner alternate universe life. I have been hoping and waiting for a city builder to live up to Simcity4. This has done just that. I already have almost 24 hours logged of gameplay and it's only been out for 3 days. Already over 2500 mods in the steam workshop and more added every hour. This game is fantastic and highly recommended.

I played only for several hours but so far I just love this game. I've played since years not only SimCity4 but also the Anno/Settlers series, although the latter great games can perhaps not be compared here as city building games. However, with this, I can now enjoy another good product. No comments on SimCity. I did not buy SimCity due to bad reviews and feedback.

Great job for this first Cities Skylines release, which seems very stable and well implemented/tested. The "complexity" is maybe not (yet) that huge, but I really can not complain for the 28 Euro price. I hope, this is just the beginning and more content will be released soon. So far, thank you Colossal Order. And goodbye Maxis.

The base game is solid, but it could do with a few more optional scenarios that effect your city such as wide spread disasters (highway interchanges don't count!) or economic hardships that could be unique to the play experience. For a game that started with 8 people and ended with a humble team of 14, I have a feeling the resounding commercial success and clear vision for this project will give it plenty of solid expansions or DLC. I look forward to seeing them. Bottom line: if you like city building games - BUY THIS GAME, YOU WON'T REGRET THIS! Expand

Simply, everything Sim City couldn't ever be.

Perfect game, even small graphical glitches, or some limitations that mods are already bypassing.

Extensive moddability, makes this a masterpiece and an insta-classic. If you love city sims, you HAVE to buy this game. Seriously, this is whatever you've ever dreamt about a city builder sim.

As a lifetime City builder fan, Cities: Skylines completely caught me by surprise. It's basically everything that SimCity has failed to be. Cities is stable, looks great, and has deep gameplay to keep you building cities for a long time. This is the best city builder game out, period, no contest.

    Wow.

This game is beyond great. The attention to detail is astounding. Example? If you place a sewer line on a street, a manhole cover appears. Streets that don't have a sewer line don't get manhole covers. Game progression feels natural and unforced, you won't be spinning your wheels waiting for something to happen. I'm a veteran of the sim game, and this game doesn't feel crippled in anyway to me. I can look at pretty graphs and statistics. I can do whatever the hell I want. Yet, it also looks to be pretty accessible to the beginner and doesn't overwhelm them. I have NO idea how they managed to strike the perfect balance between myself and the newbie, but they did.

There are very few bugs -- that's saying something since as of the time of this writing, it's day 1 of release. This is a good thing, because I played for five hours without realizing that I hadn't saved yet. No crashes -- and I'm on linux so their QA did their job really really well.

The developer is going to add in some DLC, the game already feels "complete" and there is more than enough content to keep you occupied. I actually look forward to the next DLC to see what they add.

EA can forcibly insert **** up their rectum. This game is the true successor of the franchise.

Apart from some very minor issues this is an almost perfect take on the city building genre. The graphics are reasonable, the sounds and music are non intrusive and the gameplay is spot on. UI is a little clunky but not a huge issue. But really the gameplay is what set's this apart, epic city building done right, and the extensive mods only add to the long term appeal. The city building genre has been overrun by crooks - like City XL and idiotic crooks like EA and Maxis. This is a breath of fresh air in the original spirit of simcity. It was made from people who have played city building games for people who were waiting for a good city builder.
On the minus the graphics in the ultra zoom level are a bit simplistic ... but the gameplay is great.

Amazing game. The clear successor to Sim city. I haven't had so much fun since back in the sim city 4 days. I spend so many hours in this game already and I just cant stop. The best thing is they dont try to reinvent the wheel. The developers are clearly fan and former players of Sim City and it shows. Well done a must buy for any Sim city 4 fan.
