Cities: Skylines - Snowfall

It seems that winter caught the developers somehow unprepared. A set of new features is mostly a cosmetic add. Although the snowy town looks nice, you probably appreciate the presence of the tram more. [Issue#262]

Well executed expansion to Colossal’s city builder that adds nice new elements, but doesn’t implicate them on all maps.

The snowy setting is fascinating, but this expansion runs out of new stuff to do really quickly.

With the addition of Snowfall on top of the After Dark expansion released last fall, Cities: Skylines is starting to take shape as an expansive city-building franchise that offers something for any wannabe mayor. One caveat here is that you don’t really get a tremendous amount of content, and that what's present is pretty much relegated in specific maps, leaving the impact of this expansion on the overall game fairly minimal. That said, the winter wonderland atmosphere does freshen up the visuals so even while this expansion is not essential, spending a little time in a virtual snow globe city remains awfully appealing.

For me, Snowfall will definitely be sticking around on my PC, but more as a feature I’ll dip into from time to time, rather than a permanent installation.

There’s a lot more to love here in Snowfall than there was in the slightly meagre After Dark, and from a visual standpoint alone it’s almost worth the price of entry just to build a winter wonderland.

It’s truly an impressive circus act, both playing and developing Skylines, and Snowfall is yet another example of Colossal Order flexing its muscles.

With more pronounced effects than the first expansion, Snowfall adds new challenges and complexity.

Cities: Skylines just keeps getting better. Thanks to lots of dedicated fans and modders, and the official After Dark and Snowfall expansions, the game offers endless fun and creativity.

The continuous development of Cities: Skylines is very promising, confirmed now not only by mods made by the players, but also thanks to another official expansion. Snowfall turns out to be much better than After Dark and offers a wide range of new capabilities, all well-thought-out and satisfying.

Snowfall is a generally well executed if rather mistimed expansion to Cities: Skylines, allowing you to build expansive cryogenic creations but unfortunately doesn’t go far enough in terms of providing a wintertide chill to truly remember.

Cities: Skylines - Snowfall is a good expansion for dedicated fans of the city builder genre who have seen everything that the core game and the After Dark expansion have to offer regarding gameplay.

Winter can be miserable, but Snowfall is a worthwhile addition to the finest city builder available.
