Oct 2, 2010But wait. The first Chrome was way better.

Oct 20, 2013Kind of the original chrome meets Crysis. Still feels older than its release date and sadly not a ton of fun. It's perfectly playable but there's just so many better games out there.
-
Nov 5, 2013A continuation of Chrome. Same decent enough graphics and features. Same moderate amount of weapon variety and space to carry diverse weaponry. Long enough quest chain (but not tedious), and cool stealth and vehicle control features.
Definitely worth $5 or less price tag. -

It’s hard to knock Chrome Specforce too heavily simply because of its bargain price, however you have to question whether that’s a reason to invest in such a bland experience that only offers a mediocre interpretation of something we’ve seen on countless occasions. Gameplay flaws, bugs and glitches are one thing, a complete lack of imagination in terms of a videogame however is a distinctly different matter.

If you love the FPS genre then Chrome Specforce is certainly a worthy contender for your time, just do not expect anything vastly different here. Yes, we did enjoy the original, and this prequel is slightly better, however many will justifiably be left disappointed with the lack of progression that Tachland have made in those two years since Chrome.

BoomtownAt the end of the day the experience, despite how crooked it can appear in parts, is absolutely entertaining. From a budget game, that’s about the best you can ask.
