    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I backed this game a long time ago, was surprised when i finally hit cause i thought it was vaporware but now i wished it stayed vaporware... The story doesn't make sense, and the battles are boring and easy... i'd recommend getting anyother RPG maker game on steam than this one...at least those are fun to play...… Expand

    Characters too boring, battles were ok, but JRPGs are supposed to be about the story, not replaying the same damn thing over and over again to simulate depth. Tiles make me wanna puke, sprites look like ****

    MUSIC WAS DAMN EPIC tho, i loved the music. Just make a music album, ill buy it. Game is a waste of time tho.

    In a few words, way to boring.. simple music simple monsters simple graphics nothing really boom like to say best way to describe it a simple good for nothing game

    DO NOT BUY, NOT A COMPLETE GAME, i am severely angry at the GREEDY developer of this game. It is not a complete experience but only part 1 of an alleged 3 part series. The developer does not make this fact plain on the title or within the game itself.

    What game is even in the package is woefully lacking when compared to the promises the developer has given. Choices will have no    DO NOT BUY, NOT A COMPLETE GAME, i am severely angry at the GREEDY developer of this game. It is not a complete experience but only part 1 of an alleged 3 part series. The developer does not make this fact plain on the title or within the game itself.

    What game is even in the package is woefully lacking when compared to the promises the developer has given. Choices will have no consequence and their idea of "epic" is replaying the VERY SHORT campaign 6 times to get different MONOLOGUE HEADS.

    DO NOT BUY.

    Even if you do WAIT FOR THE COMPLETE VERSION. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!    … Expand

    There is a lot to love about this game, but all it left me in the end was in the cold. Battles have wild spikes in difficulty and the art style clashes nauseatingly. I don't get how the story isn't cliched in anyway...?

    music was awesome, but gameplay and story falls flat. Shoulda just stopped a the epic soundtrack... guy before was not wrong about it being a partial experience,    There is a lot to love about this game, but all it left me in the end was in the cold.     This game taught me that you should never back anything on Kickstarter ever. Was extremely disapointed that the developers wasted my money like this. AND THEY HAD THE GALL TO ASK FOR FREE LABOUR TO PROOFREAD THEY'RE SCRIPT I know the game was poop when they did that and i was proven write. Their Q&A is a joke and the writer sucks as well...dont even bother with this one.

    Great little indie JRPG with hints of Suikoden and Saga Frontier 2. Don't pay attention to the 0 scores. Yes, it's a little short, but that has no bearing on how enjoyable the experience is. Go read the GOG and Steam reviews. They're much more reasonable.

Don't believe the 0 scores here. Something is really fishy about that, because nothing people are saying was part of the game. I played it all the way through. There was no "replaying over and over", hell there was barely any backtracking. That one guy **** about Kickstarter has some weird personal rant going on there which has nothing to do with the game itself. Greedy dev? Really? because they're releasing 3 generations of the game? These days it's not uncommon for small devs to release games in episodes...even bigger devs do that (Telltale Games). It has nothing to do with greed and everything to do with releasing what you can with the funding you have so you can continue the fund the remaining episodes. Just because the TITLE doesn't say "Generation One" doesn't mean they're being deceptive, it's clearly stated in the game's description on GOG and Steam that it's part 1 of 3.    … Expand

    Whoa the scores on this thing, dang divisive. Anyway the critics have it right on this one. its a mediocre game that should get your rpg munchies out of the way if you dont wanna replay suikoden. Painfully average.

    I picked this game up a while back when I was browsing Steam, hoping to find a decent old fashioned JRPG somewhere in the library when I came across this game. It was on sale and I figured based on the screenshots that it might be my kind of game....and then I beat the stupid thing in six hours. Six hours. For an RPG. And the main "replay value" they give you is to replay the game with allI picked this game up a while back when I was browsing Steam, hoping to find a decent old fashioned JRPG somewhere in the library when I came across this game. It was on sale and I figured based on the screenshots that it might be my kind of game....and then I beat the stupid thing in six hours. Six hours. For an RPG. And the main "replay value" they give you is to replay the game with all the characters. The intros are different for each one, but the overall main game is the same, minus some very minor scenes.

    The battle system is fairly straightforward, as well. There were some interesting little gimmicks at first, but the combat quickly became way too easy because the system was too easy to abuse, making certain characters a clear better choice then the others later on in the game. Add to this that you heal automatically between fights, and the rather low level cap that makes grinding either quick or unnecessary. (Although the fact grinding wasn't needed is one of the game's few positives.

    Now, the game is not without it's merits; it has a decent sound track, and all the characters are actually fairly well written, in my personal opinion, each of them having distinct personalities and backgrounds. The setting almost gave off a high fantasy Game of Thrones-ish....perhaps A tad TOO much. I really would have liked to see the setting of the game expanded on, and if the game wasn't so short, I would have rated it a bit higher.

    What really holds it back is truly the length; six hours of a single play through is not worth the money, and trying to say you have to replay the game with all the characters to get the "full" experience is unnecessary padding. I am aware that the game is supposed to be part 1 of 3...but it really felt like a quick cash grab, even if that wasn't the intention; whenever I play something that is episodic, I still expect a FULL game out of the first episode, certainly more then six hours of my time, making it feel more like a mobile gaming time waster then an actual in-depth experience.

    All in all, to wrap up this review, I would have given this game a lower score, but the music and the characters rated it just below average....but I would recommend staying away from this one. It's just not worth the money, even if it's not the price of a full retail game. There are better games you can buy.    … Expand

    This is a fun story driven RPG that shows classic elements from older turn-based and free roaming games of the sort alike to some of the original Final Fantasy games. Although if you are not interested in the story or the characters then it may seem a little slow.
