    Shortly before Rockstar revolutionized the western genre with the Red Dead Redemption series, Call of Juarez was the real deal for all gunslinger fans. And Bound in Blood is by far the best installment. Nice story, cool gameplay and beautiful style. Overall rating: 8.6.

    It's neither good nor bad, it's average since the physics are good the graphics are nice and the weapons are slow and behave just like they really did in the past! however, violence is lacking as blood remains on the floor Or walls, the lifeless colors unlike GUNSINGLER which has bright colors, the disappearing bodies (this is totally off-putting and takes away the immersion

    the story and the graphics are pretty good for such an old game. you can easily play it on low end pcs on high graphics without experiencing much lag. it has some minor bugs and issues but overall its a 9/10

    Call of Juarez bound in blood is an interesting prequel. I don't think it's hats all the right notes of the original but it is a very interesting game and the gameplay is very satisfying to shoot. It is very interesting to play as 2 despicable human beings. I mean they are good Brothers to each other soo of the time and are interesting but they are not good people.     This would have been a 7 out of 10 but gave it 8 for the efforts put it in here despite having a significantly small budget. Techland didnt compromise its story. The missions were set in varied locations and i really liked the forested terrains which demonstrates Chrome engine's ability to create beautiful maps. The story felt alright if not great. Brown, shaky cam, blurry, enemies blending into the background, a half-assed story filled with cliches, and absolutely awful mechanics that make it a nightmare to play. The game isn't fun. Both in game mechanic term - such as having turret sections and on-rails sections, and in story terms - such as having a section of fighting off an enemy army in a war effectively single-handed. None of the choices the characters make come from a place of logic, just "we need to do this to have an excuse to shoot more things." They reuse set pieces and entire levels from the first game (which makes sense to a degree but when the finale is a lifted wholesale from the first game it's an extreme let down). Though I think the worst mechanic is having the AI companion who gets in your way more often than not, like any other AI companion does.

    The entire game is lazy. No thought was put into it. No "why is this happening", no designing levels logically around events. Everything is there "because video game". It's not art, it's soulless product. Avoid it.    … Expand

    В свое время эта игра была охуенной: атмосфера дикого запада передавалась отлично, графон хорош, даже открытый мир был. Но сейчас я не смог в нее поиграть, слишком старая.

    In the second part there is nothing of this, it is a dull shooting gallery, from the beginning to the very end, with the same gameplay, regardless of which character you play for. "Run and shoot target" is a game that could be interesting if you have at least some good script. But this is not here, the script seems to be written by a naive inexperienced schoolboy, and all the intrigue revolves around the banal conflict around the girl, it is simply impossible to follow this plot without tears.

    The atmosphere of the wild west is not. I understand that it is stupid to compare with "Red dead redemption", but the atmosphere here is not at all. In those moments when they give you a walk around the open world, you will see empty locations and even entire settlements! (consisting of two barracks and 3 NPC, two of which are your brothers, and a third seller), this is extremely weak even in comparison with the "Gun" 2005 year of release.

    The game is not all bad. There is quite a dynamic and interesting shooting systemists, but due to the length of the game, and shooting over time becomes unbearable.

    One of the best games that i have ever played. Great story told, good soundtracks and voices of actors. If u don't have console but want western, this is one of the best.

After 4 years after the first part, Techaland has something to show, they did the work on the errors, threw a miserable stealth, pulled up the shooting, removed the whining about faith, reduced the location making them more linear, but at the same time in this game only plus. In General, it turned out a good game, a prequel to the first part, which for me is now an example of a good game of this genre.

Спустя 4 года после первой части, Techaland есть что показать, они сделали работу над ошибками, выкинули убогий стелс, подтянули стрельбу, убрали нытье про веру, уменьшили локации сделав их более линейными, но в тоже время в данной игре только плюс. В целом получилась хорошая игра, приквел к первой части, который лично для меня является теперь примером хорошей игры данного жанра.    … Expand

    A good shooter with a decent story but somewhat lackluster characters. It has a decent difficulty and lasts long enough to make it worthwhile at the cheap price it's available at these days. I wish more games had a western theme as it's a setting that hasn't been fully explored yet.

    -This game does not shy away from christian themes, which fit well with the story. And it does so without seeming unpleasantly pro or anti christian.
    -A good manual save system (no annoying checkpoint reloads).
    -No Ubisoft Uplay account required!

    The Bad (mostly minor):
    -A very low Field-of-View (not fixable) due to being optimized for console TV screens.
    -The first level (tutorial) has clumsy scripting and mediocre graphics, but it gets better with later levels.
    -Bodies disappear the moment you look away, due to silly Xbox360/PS3 RAM limits.
    -AI is mediocre (not a big problem since most things are scripted)
    -screen vibration effects severely overdone during scripted explosions.
    -Enemies move like ants (no movement inertia), making aiming a pain sometimes.

    The Ugly:
    -No COOP mode! With the two protagonists working together, this game would have been perfect for co-op, and yet there is no co-op mode! What a missed opportunity!

    Overall, I can easily recommend this game, especially in a sale.    … Expand

Call of Juarez: BiB is epic, stunning, emotional, romantic and most of all action-packed! If you're looking for a great game and are willing to take a break from CoD, this is the one. Great directing, awesome voice-overs and it delivers. A must! I really enjoyed the small side missions that you complete to earn money, it had a "mini-open-world", feel to it. I loved the gunplay, everything from the reloading, to the pulling back of the hammer before every shot. The music in this game was satisfactory, and it did capture the atmosphere of the game, but it was nothing to be remembered. The story alone was a 7/10, this game was carried mostly by its outstanding gameplay and environment. The story didn't really have me thinking what will happen next, instead it had me thinking, "Oh who are we going to shoot up now?" or "What new environment will we run around in next?". The voice acting was superb, except for William and Ray's voice. Both of these characters sounded like they were slightly out of place. So it wasn't really the voice acting itself, it was the casting of the voice I found off a bit.     I really really wanted to like this, but the characters I'm supposed to care about in this.. I just don't. They're cliche's and the game itself is a workable western (well, except for the fact that your guys have bullet time superpowers) and, well, really it's a near miss. A bit more care on the characters and plot and it might have been there.

    Great characters and storytelling, somewhat shtty ai and I wish the maps were somewhat more imaginative but the overall scenery, atmosphere and story more than make up for limited gun-play.

If you think the voice acting is good, you must not have every seen a Pixar movie, or spent much time around an actual southerner. The accents always sound forced and fake. The controls are clunky and the mechanics of motion and aiming are somehow cheap feeling.     Just finished the game and although I had a lot of fun playing it, it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth because the duels were extremely frustrating. If they would have given an option to skip them I would definitely have rated this game much higher.

    This game has some amazing scenery for a low budget 2009 game. The rich world environment is where I feel the game excelled the most. There is very little to complain about with this game, however, if I had to it would be about the lack of a melee attack when your enemies and comrades perform them with ease throughout the game.

    I was never amazed by any feature or aspect of this game, but never at any time was I disappointed or bored either. Though this game fails to deliver an epic experience, it is by no means an unworthy one.
    In the end, Bound in Blood is an extremely solid title sitting at a base price of only $9.99. Any gamer should be able to enjoy this game at its price, but this is a must-buy if your a western fan. Do to the amount of content, taking only 6 hours to beat the campaign, I cannot rate this game higher than a 7/10, but for its price it is a worthy title.    … Expand

    This game was ok but it got a bit boring as every mission had the same feel and it was really repetitive but if you just like shooting, then this game is perfect for you but I personally think its mediocre.

Gameplay is repetitive and boring, and the showdowns that conclude every level feel exactly same, each as broken and tedious as the last. The only thing that makes the game even remotely interesting is the choice to play as one of the two brothers in the game: Thomas is good with a bow and arrow, Ray can use dynamite, and each has their own version of a slowed down focus mode. Unfortunately it's not enough to make Bound in Blood worth playing. Skip this garbage and just pick up or replay Red Dead Redemption.… Expand

    Repulsively unoriginal story; uninteresting characters with terrible development; god awful writing, both in dialogue and narration; voice acting is 'meh' and the ending is w/e; highly repetitive, just CoD mechanics with predictable show-downs that inexplicably get harder without rational factors. Bottom line: this game is drab.

    In a gaming world where the western genre is not exactly a prolific, this game cures the itch. As a FPS it's not a bad game and the story area is not bad at all. I enjoyed it since the art direction is great and the playability is great, as a single player game it gives you a reason to play it more than once and the story will make you stay.     Awesome graphics on the pc. Love the open world sections, they blew me away, which is too bad because they could have expanded on that concept. The story was fun and the level design great. The gunplay is also great. Awesome awesome game.

I can forgive that, since many western movies have the same flaw. However, some of the action sequences are just not that great. The duels at the end of every level grow tiresome.     Bound In Blood is an underrated game, insane shootouts, good story, nice graphics (for its date).
    I played right through in a day so it is a bit short, but quality not quantity in my opinion. Best western shooter I've played. 8/10.

    This game isn't the best game I've ever played but it is one that i loved to played. I felt that the story was okay for what they were trying to do but it didn't feel western to me. I loved the multiplayer on this game. I loved that each class was counter able and that there were enough classes to cover every play style from guns-blazing to sniper.

First of all, this game doesn't feel western; it's gun animation or the shooting feel is too lethargic and clumsy for me.     A good attempt at a western shooter, but it has nothing fresh or innovative, also the banter between the brothers constantly gets a little annoying, and you can't switch it off. Needs more guns and a much less linear path through each mission.     I'm from Poland and i'm produ that game like this are made by my country. It's not perfect and even close to perfect, but fresh and good enough to give few hours of wild western shootouts. Mulitplayer modes are good too.

    Bound In Blood is one of (if not THE) best western themed shooters around. Great setting, great story, great voice-acting and great action make the original look like crap.

    - The action is fun, using old western guns is nice for a change from the MW clones
    - There is a story
    - I would have been bored after more than 6 hours so I'm glad it wasn't any longer

    The bad
    - The voice acting annoyed me
    - It gets very repetitive
    - Too many invasive cut scenes slow the game down heaps.

    If you have 6 hours spare, and it's cheap, give it a go.

    If you are looking for an authentic western experience then look no further this game absolutely nails it,the west conjures up images of a landscape that is wild,free and goes on forever and this game does a fantastic job of presenting that image of the west,It has a great story that you will get emotionally invested in.     Just finished The game. Took me 5 hours and 30 minutes to finish it on easy mode. Personally, easy mode was too easy. There was no challenge. So if you're gonna play it, start with medium mode. The game got ok graphic and the best part, I play the game with highest settings and I've never got any fps lag.

    Bottom line: this game is fun! The graphics and sound are awesome, and the western atmosphere is as authentic as possible! Everything you would expect from a western is in here: horses, indians, bandits etc On the flip side, its a bit too easy at times, and the end battle isn't as good as I felt it could be..Anyway, I played this wearing a cowboy hat...great!

And to add to all its glory is pitch-perfect voice acting, great sound, (the guns really make a satisfying boom) and incredible attention to enviornmental detail. Although, the game is not perfect. The Great classic western story combined with an authentic, great looking, time-accurate setting all together with very polished gunplay makes for one of the most enjoyable experiences of 2009. And to add to all its glory is pitch-perfect voice acting, great sound, (the guns really make a satisfying boom) and incredible attention to enviornmental detail. Although, the game is not perfect. The single player is over all too quickly and, to my surprise, is not as epic as it tries to be, regardless of what other critics said. It just did not have the frantic pacing of COD4 or the feeling of "overwhelming odds" Thats pretty much it for the cons and i must say, multiplayer was surprisingly interesting and fun. What I liked most about multiplayer was the maps. They are quite convoluted, and much to my surprise, almost every building you see is fully interactive and enter-able, so instead of feeling scripted and linear "you must go through here to reach the enemy base", COD4 type maps, they were surprisingly non-linear and added to the multiplayer experience. Overall, though it is short, its a must buy (and worth the $50 price tag) due to the relatively high replay value (there is unlockable content) and interesting multiplayer which serves as a great diversion.… Expand

    What an absolute surprise. This game is absolutely fantastic. Everything from the dialogue, to the voice acting, to the awesome gun-slinging gameplay is very polished. I have played both the PC and PS3 versions, and it is much better on the PC. Would recommend to all.

    I was in complete shock over how much fun this game was. The story is an excellent western tale, the writing and voice acting are great. The mechanics are almost flawless, I haven't had this much fun with a FPS since HL2. This game deserves huge props for the best implementation of cover mechanics. The game-play was standard FPS style with the added element of concentration mode (when in concentration mode you are able to pause, target several enemies, and then shoot the multiple targets all at once). And straight ahead shooting ain't nothing new so this game really doesn't bring anything new even the sideguests there are like umm 6 of them and they are all just the same.     This is a great game for anyone who enjoys playing FPS. The Civil War era, western cowboy theme, is a breath of fresh air. There are excellent gun fights, high-noon showdowns, and a story line that draws the player in. Techland did an outstanding job of creating a realistic atmosphere of both the Civil War and Western themes.     The game is fun, and brings a lot of the good things from Call of Duty.. If they had a better "gun duel" system, this game would be great. The controls and timing for gun dueling has a high learning curve, which will lead to frustration (especially when your character doesn't even draw at all when you do what you're supposed to).     It uses many stereotypes, brings them to the maximum and keeps us in a world of political incorrectness, showing us hard environment were life is worth nothing: Wild West from cinema and literature enters Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, turns into a videogame and is still recognizable in all its elements, making the most of the spectacle of the medium.

    It's often gorgeous to look at and the story is worth experiencing, but the multiplayer is nothing more than a slight distraction and the lack of co-op is a missed opportunity. Bound in Blood is worth a look, but as a sequel it doesn't take the series on enough.
