    This game has a pretty good campaign when it works which I would give an 8/10 had I been able to play it properly from start to finish. The issue, however, in this game is the terrible cutscenes in between missions that don't play properly. They stutter and buffer from start to finish and I had to quit the campaign and watch it in the menu just to see what the context was each mission. I had to wait days to even start playing it because the game would keep crashing all the time in the same spots. Price is still pretty cool.

    The multiplayer however is very bad compared to the classic games that this game is trying to appeal to. The new maps specific for this game are for the most part seem fine but the main thing that trashes everything is this the horrendous respawns. You can literally be killed and spawn in front of the same enemy that kills you sometimes. This creates a big issue with the way a vast majority of people play the game and that's camping. So the way people used to play the previous games was using the keyboard and pressing the forward key (w) but in this game, you get punished for doing that because of horrific spawns. You get spawned far too close to enemies most of the time depending on the map and it really makes you want to stay still cause they will simply walk around the corner and you can kill them. The servers as well are really laggy and you'll end up rubberbanding so often.
    If these developers ever decide to fix the spawn locations where you spawn away from the enemies regardless of where your team is then I'll consider this a decent game that I'd recommend to people. Otherwise this doesn't capture the magic of why I loved the modern warfare series at all.

    The maps also need more flanking routes in order to eliminate the problem of campers. The maps need to encourage people to get up and move otherwise they should just make more maps like shipment and rust which are just cluster ***** but fun and equal for everyone. Basically, story is ok, multiplayer is not ok at the moment.    … Expand

    I know many games and movies with bad russians, that drink vodka, play balalayka and fight with their bears. Also they always want to attack USA or even conquer the whole world. And always brave american soldiers saving the world in last seconds =)
    And its OK, when its funny and not serious, like Red Alert series. I like that game.     - 90% of the Maps are awfull, designed for noobs who can hide in every corner.

    Don't buy this game on PC, the cutscenes get stuttered (lag), and now I am stuck at hometown quests. No object / environment rendered. Clueless... Its been weeks since the game launched and still there is no solution. Can't continue my campaign game.

    The Maps are a Campfest, literally inviting you to get to the "Safe Place" as infinity ward calls it, The Minimap that isn't even a normal minimap now makes it easier to stay where you are ( of course in the dark, ,where nobody can't see S**t ). The high Time to kill ( about 200 milliseconds or so) helps so noone can really react to something, and thousands and thousands lines of sight.
    Don't tell me to adapt ! I want normal Call of Duty back ! That's far from tactical..
    If I wanted tactical, i would play Domination BO4 with some Clans instead.
    But in this? You just can't move fluidly, you have to peek ADS everytime, and wait here and there...
    The Fact that they removed the death Stat from all scoreboards tells the whole story itself. Nearly all players have had negative stats from the start where you could see it. Very often in a Match majority of the Losing teammates leave. If this is the future, then this was the last COD I bought.

    The Single player wasn't really surprising tho, The Americans are always best, the Russians bad guys.
    If in wasn't that way, no American Weapon or Camo or Tank would make it in the Game. The rights are with the United States Army. It Explains a lot when you say that the M4 ist the best weapon in the Game...heheh    … Expand

    That alone is enough to never ever buy this game, you can then add millions of bugs, the worst visibility you have ever experienced in a FPS game, constant FPS drops and super strong sbmm ruining any chance of just playing around.

    Почти, сука, месяц прошел с релиза, а разрабы до сих пор не могут пофиксить вылеты. Для того чтобы нормально поиграть нужно каждый раз переустанавливать шейдеры (и то не всегда помогает). Это насколько охуеть нужно, чтобы в 2019 году выпустить настолько сырой продукт, что через месяц после релиза, оно работает только хуже.Почти, сука, месяц прошел с релиза, а разрабы до сих пор не могут пофиксить вылеты. Для того чтобы нормально поиграть нужно каждый раз переустанавливать шейдеры (и то не всегда помогает). Это насколько охуеть нужно, чтобы в 2019 году выпустить настолько сырой продукт, что через месяц после релиза, оно работает только хуже.

    This is a garbage game that isn't even worth 10€. Yet they ask 50 for it and already mush their sweaty balls into the playerbases face with that season 1 battlepass for 10€ more. Not a single map is good. Half of them are trash, the other half utter trash. They got the gunplay right but everything else that makes a shooter good wrong.

    The worst game I've ever played in my life. It always crash, even my system being above the recomended system requirements. The respawn system it's horrible, the game often presents lag and the development team doesn't appear to be concerned fixing it in the future, currently they are more focused on making more money from season passes. This game is a trash, don't buy it.

    Wow, all the people claiming racism... almost nothing about the actual game. WELL, Here's some about this pile of dead rats that they call a game;

Trying to play the ground war maps is like attempting to swallow a whole coconut after you superglued it to a live crocodile. The spawn camping on ANY map is something that has been brought up to the support team on many occasions, but they have done absolutely noting to curb it.

    The gun play is completely disastrous. When an SMG is out sniping real sniper rifles and only one gun is OP so pretty much everyone uses it, it's unfathomably unacceptable. But they do nothing to change it.

    The spawn placement needs to be addressed in this stack of dehydrated cockroach wifties as well. You CONSTANTLY spawn in an enemy's retacle, often while they are shooting. There have been a rediculous number of times that I have been killed as a collateral due to spawning on a teammate that they claim is not in combat.

    The sun glare is cool if you like being instantly having a rod of almighty hammers rammed into your eyes the moment you look towards the side of the map the sun is on. Oh. And the side it's on never changes, which puts one team at a complete disadvantage 100% of the time.

    The sound design is abhorrent, what with some people somehow being able to hear footsteps through walls in the next building over while hiding in the fridge when others can't even hear a helicopter loaded with raid sirens and fog horns blasting Guns n' Roses off key rolling up behind them.

    The obvious lying about server latency is unacceptable as well. Telling me there's only 58 milliseconds of ping when it takes well over half a second for point blank rounds to register makes the number given an obvious farce.

    Then there's the issue with the CONSTANT crashing makes it clear that the developers didn't even bother to optimize the game for PC whatsoever. Ever-constant dev errors cause the game to freeze and you have to play a guessing game as to whether you've crashed or if it's going to come back to your eyes bleeding with your character praying for mercy as the other team skullbangs you in rapid succession because, of course, you cannot move when your game is frozen..

    The clear lack of quality assurance testing and the obvious lack of care from the devs make this game a waste of hard-earned money. Save your pennies for the next battlefield. At least they care about what the players say about the game.    … Expand

    The game is so full of bugs and horrible balance that it ruins any fun there is to be had with it. It runs like garbage for how it looks and it looks pretty poor compared to other games. I get significantly less FPS that I will in comparable games, and it feels much less smooth than for the framerates the game reports.     The UI is probably the most bug ridden element of the game. As with all CODs, there is misinformation presented by the UI. The UI also constantly freezes; most menu clicks incur some brief freeze. The game has crashed more than any other AAA title I've played. Loading maps will sometimes stall out the game and disconnect you from the servers.

    The netcode is a joke and the player animations are jerky and unsmooth. It gets almost unplayably worse if the enemy is far away as the server will drop the tick rate to slideshow level low for even remotely distant enemies.

    The kill streak balance is atrocious, particularly if you play ground war. Ground war is polluted with high power kill streaks almost all the time. I hope you enjoy being constantly randomly killed if you want to play ground war.

    The sound in this game is also poor. There are dropped sounds all the time, and the positioning seems a little off no matter what sound settings and headphones I try.

    The VOIP chat is the most toxic I've encountered, but a fair margin, in any game. Full of people screaming obscenities, racism, and homophobia. In this day and age it would be easy to run the VOIP audio through a transcription AI that could ban people using using hate speech, but that gets to my next point.

    The devs could not care less for feedback from this game, they completely ignore the community. The suggestions and feedback for improvement that is universally lauded rarely makes it into the game. There are stealth nerfs and buffs all the time. It is futile to believe that Infinity Ward is at all invested in making the game better.    … Expand

    Iplayed a lot of FPS games, but this is under the bottom of the frog. I hate myself to purchasing first and watching this reviews after. The most painful money waste ever. This game is so boring and unplayable on PC, and of course unrefundalbe!!!. Impossible to convert CS:GO and R6 settings/muscle memory. I will never buy any Activison or Battle.net related anything, and wont recommend to anybody.

    multiplayer is bad, ive played all of the cods and this has to be the worst one so far. Spawning is terrible, netcode is rubbish, there is no gun balance. Also is a massive camp fest nothing tactical or fun about multiplayer. No one plays the objectives just get the latest op sniper gun of the week and just sit in one spot. Story is average.

    In the campaign Captain Price did not say the iconic line "Bravo six, going dark" therefore the trailer has baited us and hyped me up for this specific moment that was not even in the game. I am very disappointed with Activision's decision.

The uav and counter uav that you can destroy with 2/3 mags of an assault rifle, the air support helicopter or whatever its name is, that can kill you through armored concrete walls at meters from its cannon, the small "rc tank", that everybody uses on hardcore shipment is simply the apex of human monstrosity. People, 9 times out of 10 don't play for the objective, making the game, that is already frustrating, even more frustrating, looking only for kills, and if you try to conquest a flag you'll end up diyng from some random camper with his mp5
    Dropshot, that can basically save you in a very close 1vs1 is the worst, because people abuse it and if you want to play "normally" (because the big brains behind the game said that they wanted a kinda realistic game) you can't.
    Say what you want, but before saying that I'm a noob, my k/d is 1.2; i know it's not the best k)d ever, but is still something.

What they actually got: glitches, crashes and evil Russians in a criminally short campaign that doesn't even form a cohesive story. Multiplayer is painful thanks to skill based matchmaking and the devs constantly lying their product. They claimed there would be no skill based matchmaking in Warzone, however players on YouTube have shown with their data that there is no doubt SBMM is in everything. Regardless of your opinion on SBMM, nobody should tolerate being sold a false bill of goods. SBMM is inferior to connection based simply by not providing you with the best connection possible. No further analysis needed. Nobody wants to be playing competitively in 2020 with 60/70+ ms ping. Games from 10+ years ago provided a smoother online experience. The final nail in the coffin for this title is the PC cheaters in Warzone. There appears to literally be no anti cheat in the game. Console players are disabling crossplay, defeating the entire purpose of it existing, and nobody can blame them. This MW should have be been a title for the ages but we were met with straight up lies about the game and a sub par experience.

    FYI Activision has a patent for MTX based matchmaking, that is to say, players who spend money in the game store will be rewarded by being placed in matches with players far below their own skill level. Players who do not pay this literal bribe to have "fun" are punished and used as fodder for the players who do spend money.

    In summary the game has no anti cheat, possible MTX based matchmaking, definite SBMM, mediocre at best story, glitches aplenty, and still has the nerve to harass you with buying gimmicky junk from the store with glorified pop-ups from the 90s on a full price AAA title.

    If players tolerate this behavior, they will have no one to blame besides themselves for future titles. We need to stop submitting to this and start voicing our opinions with our wallets by refusing to pay for this junk.

    This game exists for the sole purpose of squeezing as much money out of gullible players who throw money at shiny cosmetics and swindling players with lies about the games mechanics.    … Expand

    I did enjoy the game when I could play it but can only give 0 points when I can't even play it!
    The patches being so big is bad enough but when the patches break the game and make you download it all again is just stupid, and no real apology about it from devs.
    Now it puts me in server queue but when it loads it just gives error and quits to desktop, same for friends.

    It’s undeniably well-made albeit controversial part of the series. One that tries to break the mold and open itself to another kind of player. It’s worth of praise, even if just for that. I recommend it especially to Battlefield players – you may be pleasantly surprised. [13/2019, p.50]

    Modern Warfare is not a stellar game, but decent first-person shooters about modern conflicts are so few and far between that it’s surprisingly satisfying.
