The story is OK but very controversial and seems to go for shock value more than actual story.

Multiplayer at this stage is the worst "boots on the ground" experience yet. The time to kill is 0.4 seconds, but for you it's much longer.
Same crappy connections as every year, except the guns do more damage, meaning turn a corner = insta death.

Graphics are somewhat pleasant even on my old mobile gtx1060. Shooting is fun and you take a lot less shots than in previous installments before having to restart checkpoint. CGI cutscenes are disappointing. Also, had to google and manually fix CGI stutter all this time after release. Cpt Price is such a cutie here (nohomo).

Great game when it works, but mostly unplayable due to crashes. And of course Warzone has no reconnect function, so all the good rounds where you crash go to waste. Happens about 50% of the games.

There was so many times in this COD where the match has rarely has kills because everyone is too afraid to move. When you rush there's always someone hiding in a corner or in a building. It ruins the game completely. Even in TDM matches are going way too slow. From fast paced gameplay in the older games to slow boring crap you don't even recognize as a COD game. The Ground War mode is fun but they're not playing it the COD way either. Camping there too and cheese tactics. I was expecting this COD to be fun from the high reviews I've seen but it just comes off as a slower Battlefield game now.

The game heavily needs a redesign on the maps to fix this issue because right now it ruins the game and makes it unfun. I understand camping is part of the game but this is way too much bull to even enjoy by this point. Only one out of every five games have actually been true fun. The rest? People set up tents. It's a shame too. The graphics and design are beautiful but the Multiplayer is boring. That's the biggest problem too, that is supposed to be the biggest selling point of the game and it truly is failing.

5 out of 10 in this state. They need to improve the gameplay and make it fun like before. This is just plain boring and a waste of my 80 dollars. At this point I find PUBG to be more fun. Even in a BR game players are more aggressive there. Imagine paying 60 bucks to sit in a corner. This slow paced gameplay isn't for COD.

So the multiplayer was successful, especially given that there were no competitors left (Battlefield killed itself). I pumped to 20+ level, I had enough of it, then it became no longer interesting. Lots of cosmetic donate for an AAA game for $60. The balance of the players is also curved, then you play with beginners, then with arrogants. The game has not once thrown to games with a similar skill. In general, if we sold for $20-30 only a multiplayer, then it was a good game. And so it turns out that this is a game, below average. What does that mean? it means that shotguns are sniper rifles, every building has 10 windows and only one staircase, and if you're not in a building (or on top of one), you're instantly dead. It also means that claymores have such a huge range that the best strategy is to put them in a corner, preferably right in front of you as you hold your shotgun out and wait for someone too run by. People say you should just adapt, but that's not fun. Why would I want to play that way? Expand

First of all, Call of Duty occupies a special place in my memory. I grew up with Call of Duty 3 and my brother with Call of Duty: Roads to Victory, I was a hardcore Call of Duty 4 Moden Warfare player, until MW3.

Having said that, I will try to keep my feelings out of it.
The game has a solid setting, in certain points a bit repetitive, but if you value the game individually, it's more than enough to pass.
The story is absurdly simple, recovering a chemical weapon that blablablabla, the story is segmented into small operations that in maximum difficulty took few attempts to complete, and I must say that at certain times the game is a bit unfair, to the point that in realistic mode, this game feels like an Uncharted, where you shoot, hide, and shoot again until there are no NPCs on screen.

There are many characters that literally have a line of dialogue, like Yegor or many others.

Captain Price's charisma gets diluted as he appears on the screen, and it seems that only in the kinematics you can distinguish part of that soul that characterizes him.

The gameplay has improved a great deal, with weapons now having a recoil that is erratic and more like the vibration of a controller than a 5.56mm rifle. (In my opinion there is no better recoil control than that of the Rainbow Six Siege). The decisions and little things like deciding to be part of the torture of the butcher, make me feel more inside, I just regret that these decisions are a mere circumlocution to offer me the same story with the same shots but with different lines of dialogue.

Without a doubt the most enjoyable thing for me was:
The night missions, no doubt, the graphic section and the dynamic lights have been a joy to play.
The mission in the sniper's nest, the physics of the bullets were very good.
And finally, the WarZone mode, which offers many possibilities both tactical and strategic, and the game is a real experience when you enjoy it with friends.

I think I've been very benevolent with the release, I think the problems with the servers are unacceptable, and that the progress is based entirely on the hours of gameplay in "how much you kill and how extravagant", the battle passes are a rip-off, and it's just that you need to play for many hours every day to complete it, and I don't think that's dignified.

The campaign choked me in many points because in realistic mode the enemies blow you up with two bullets, but still it was very short, excessively short, to say that the continuous story mode in special operations is very generous and that those are almost mini-games, wherewith two well-armed friends, the missions are a joke.
I could get a thousand hits out of it, but I want to give the game a vote of confidence since it has introduced in me the desire to see what will happen next.

It's no secret that CoD has a history of propaganda - whether in-part financed by the DoD or C|A would be no surprise. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the clear propaganda that has infiltrated the campaign.

It's like we forget the Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Highway of Death, 9/11 and the fake Russia collusion hoax. This is how propaganda works in Modern Warfare: a "made up" Middle Eastern country that rubs shoulders with government sanctioned terrorism somehow allies itself with the US (C|A) and are trying to fight against a Russian occupation of said "made up" Middle Eastern country? ALL on the heels of NYT & CNN spinning the death of Al-Baghdadi, a well-known terrorist, as an academic scholar while peddling fake Russia collusion stories for over 2+ years. And yet, we're the stupid ones? This shouldn't be in a game... the fact that this stuff is, makes you question the whole damn thing. I just want a game with great graphics, great gameplay and a grounded story in realism WITHOUT getting political. Every country has their own crap and issues - get it out of games.

I'd also be wary of the "Russian" reviews on here rating this game a full 10. Translate to English and you can even read the propaganda in the review.

On a very positive note, I do really like the multiplayer and graphically it is an achievement.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really wanted to like this game, I thought it would be like the good ol' days of CODMW and MW2. But the truth is that it isn't.

The singleplayer campaign in painfully average, downright frustrating at times because of how stupid and useless your friendly AI is. You're basically expected to do the job of an entire squad, which can be a pain in the ass when you play in hardened and up.
Not to mention the plot isn't nearly as good as people made it to be, it's yet another depiction of "America good, Russia bad". Russians in this game are just **** for the sake of being ****, there's no gray area. Same for arabic people, they're terrorist, nothing more.

As far as the multiplayer goes, it's a camping **** Mounted weapons are so accurate, I feel like I get punished for running around the map instead of anchoring down on a wall. Map design? Well it's Call Of Duty so it's mostly unbalanced garbage.
Ground war could be fun if the maps weren't so bad (yes, again...).
The only good thing I can say about this game is that the end of the singleplayer campaign made me want to play the original MWs again and the multiplayer reminded me what a much better game Titanfall 2 is. I'll go as far as to say that Titanfall 2 is a better Call of Duty than what COD has become...

Cleary these unlocks are just used as filler to make it sound good over 100 tiers of content etc

Vehicles are pointless people just use them to run people over. Killstreak hardpoint the action is too fast-paced to call them in most of the time. Gameplay is as as standard as Call of Duty can be. Mindlessly shooting dumb enemies, because your teammates are horrible, and play minigames a few times. Have something changed from 2007? Oh right, graphics and Grey Morality™. The only intresting levels are Clean House and Going Dark, just because they reject the traditional COD formula. So, what's the problem with the story? EVERYTHING. I guess black Russians + grey Price + white Americans/Brits + black terrorists + white rebels = grey morality. What about motivation? Screw that, Barkov is evil, just because. I'd rather take ridiculous explanation of No Russian from MW2, instead of one line, basically saying "There was a terrorist attack, so Barkov went nuts". The story just cant be taken seriously. Alright, maybe it says something controversial? Maybe the game makes player commit horrible things, and also make him feel guilty, like Spec Ops: The Line? Nope, how about we just drop WP for no reason, and get a child killed a few times! Really, the game is constantly reassuring you that you're doing the right thing, and vilians are doing wrong things.
And I didn't even mentioned war crimes, being shifted on Russia. And don't tell me that previous games are the same. In previous Modern Warfare games, Russians actions were explained. It's kinda ironic, that Battlefield 3 has more grey morality than MW19. Same for villians motivation in previous Modern Warfare games. And the game never comes close to depicting horrors of war on Spec Ops: The Line level.
So, what about Multiplayer? Meh. The problem isn't even gunplay, it's the map design. There's a reason why everyone plays Shipment/Shoot House. Everything else is just garbage. They even managed to broke classic maps. How can you even make Shipment worse? It's such a small and simple map. The pacing in the game is a joke. And balance is too. Every update, some guns get buffed to ridiculous levels, anything that's not mobile isn't even worth running. Gunsmith has potential, but resulted in No Stock, Long Barrel meta. Not to mention they dont even use its potential. How about 9mm conversion for Striker, or RAM-7? 5.56 conversion for SCAR? Nope, here's you hollow point Fennec, that makes bullet velocity horrible even in close quarters. Have I mentioned spawns yet? Or questionable SBMM, where doing good once is guaranteed to put you in a tryhard lobby, while doing bad can put anyone in low skill one?
Really though, the only thing where effort was put in, were animations and the soundtrack. Aside form advertisement and monetization, of course.
