    Damn, this is a great game! Ok, let's get serious. MULTIPLAYER is the STAR here and raises the bar for all subsequent games. Not only are there loads of new features, but all the details are well thought out and the gameplay is SMOOTH and WELL-BALANCED. It is WAGER MATCH, however, that blows everything out of the water. INGENIOUSLY CRAFTED and BRILLIANTLY EXECUTED, the WAGER MATCH MODESDamn, this is a great game! Ok, let's get serious. MULTIPLAYER is the STAR here and raises the bar for all subsequent games.     why do so many people hate this game? the graphics are not excellent but the gameplay is funny. i've had no problems at all. i haven't tested the multiplayer because i never do, but treyarch usually provides a good multiplayer. for what i've seen, this game deserves an 8.7

Apparently halo fans got together to rate this game so it could look crappy. 4.5 average? that is obviously total crap because the real critics would of tore this game to pieces much more so then the users ever could have. As for these problems with lag, I have had little problems. And people need to realize that when servers are suddenly filled with millions of people, it is almost impossible to not have some problems. This game is worth the money, with the campaign, zombies, and the always solid muiltiplayer. They have made a near perfect game... Not to mention the ability to save your films and even edit clips together so you can show many angles of the same awesome event... Which for the record, Even Halo does not allow you to do.     Disappointing, buggy arcade shooter, similar to Cod MW2. Don't buy it - it's simply not worth 59 euro. Activision is just trying to sting us for money.

    This game was just as good as modern warfare 2 if not better.The graphics were macnificent and the storyline great, i only played the single player though but it was really another great C.O.D great experience and they still make M.O.H look like children!!!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This review is for the single game-play only as my multi-player skills leave much to be desired. The first thing you notice is those annoying numbers and their meaning. If I understood the premise of the numbers they are locations in the US for sleeper cells, however to Mason they have a more sinister meaning as it is implied that he was involved in the Kennedy shooting. All the missions are told in flashbacks and the game starts at the Bay of Pigs and goes on from there where you will do everything from black covert ops to recon. The mechanics of the game are the usual fare for COD game, however the controls, for some reason feel tighter in the XB360 edition as the PS3 felt kinda mushy to me. The gameplay is solid and the aim-assist can help you, or hinder you depending on the way you loo at it. For the most part the graphic are good except for one or two missions which look like the first gen XBOX, but other than that it is pretty good. As far as the story and game-play, I enjoyed it and it can take anywhere from 6-18 hours depending on how good or how much you play.… Expand

    Black Ops haves an addictive multiplayer, and a memorable story mode. Zombies is a blast fun that you will have, but the problem are the glitches and some complicated controls. But, impressive is that the PC version haves great graphics. Overall, the game is worth buying, and, for sure, I recommend for everyone, especially for the fast paced gamers. 80 out of 100.

    Having spent 400+ hours in this game and loving every one of those hours I honestly can't help giving it a 10 (for multiplayer).

    SP score of 0 though, boring on rails story with zero attractiveness imho.
    Zombie mode gets a 2 for effort but I don't really like it, the whole thing feels like you need an IQ bellow 80 to enjoy...

    The best Call of duty since Call of duty 4: Modern Warfare.
    Cool weapons, great multiplayer maps. The solo campaign is ok, but as usual now, it's the competitive multiplayer that takes this game to a new level.

    Este juego para mi es uno de mis COD favoritos pera esta muy mal renderizado en PC, pero eso no lo hace in-jugable se juega bastante bien y el online es algo estable. En definitiva ¿vale la pena? Si pero solo si te gusta mucho zombies.

    Treyarch did a much better job with BLOPS than IW did with MW2. BLOPS got most of the important PC features right, ie, dedicated servers, adjustable fov, dev console, etc.. The main problem is that it performs bad for some people but other than that it's a well done console port.

    I give it a 10 because it deserves more than what users are giving it.

    nonstop action
    variety of weapons
    lots of different ways to fight, like tank and helo
    good explanatory notes

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Wow. This would be a ten if it had the ability to use vehicles in combat. There is the gunship, but there are no others you can pilot. This is a very good game. The people who say it is bad are just haters or people who are playing on a below par system (*cough*Wii.) It is a challenge, which is what any true gamer is looking for. It has a great Zombies mode, which requires you to last as long as you can against hordes of zombies. You can do it with other players online as well for an especially fun experience. There are special weapons called Wonder Weapons for this. They include the Thunder Gun, which shoots shockwaves, the Ray Gun, figure it out, the Winters Howl, which freezes things, and the Gersch device, which creates miniature black holes. The Multiplayer is filled with maps and modes and weapons and perks and killstreaks (which are awesome) With multiplayer, you never run out of fun. You can also play with friends online. Nuketown is a great map, small, but, for this reason, it is filled with action. Perks are special skills that you can choose three of. The campaign isn't the best, but it is not bad.… Expand

Essayer de survivre avec des amis à des hordes de zombies c'est quand même extra, et même n'ayant pas les DLC y'a de quoi s'occuper. MW1 was definitely good, WAW really good (only because of nazi zombies, thanks treyarch :), MW2 was pretty good, but still pretty similar to MW1, MW3.......oh boy, MW3 is so damn generic/stereotypical of a COD that you're basically re-buying MW1 and MW2, the campaign sucked especially.     Black Ops, in fact, Treyarch makes the best games with Call of Duty (Modern Warfare 1 being the only exception) and I loved the storyline and place it #1 storyline in CoD history. The multiplayer is a little below par, but I got over it quickly and had a fun time. Black Ops II is going to be great, unlike Modern Warfare 3 crap.

    This in mind, I took a chance and bought BO during Steam's summer sale for $20 USD and after 20 hours of logged multiplayer I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I admittedly haven't played single player but even if it was just a video of 9000 hours of nyan cat or a compilation of goatse pics or QWOP I wouldn't really care since I bought the game only for what it has to offer in multiplayer. My laptop is maybe midrange (1gb nvidia 9600m GT, duo2.66GHz, 1680X945, 4GB DDR3) but the game runs flawlessly when I have throttlestop and rightmark CPU on for max performance. I, however, wouldn't be able to play if it weren't for my mega vornado fan cooling hookup.

    All in all, BO is a great "twitch" shooter with glorious gfx (I only really play CS), smooth multiplayer, and well populated servers that I've noticed to maintain a clean gaming environment and have very active clans/admin presence. It's too bad this game has gotten such muddy reviews...    … Expand

    Didn't expect that ending! I've never played Call of duty for the story, but I actually liked this one. Really enjoy playing this game.

    My brother bought black ops from games stop . i thought it sucked because the zombies and the background suck it did and fyi the zombies sucked too . but i was wrong the story was epic and the game rocks . grade A+

    Now that the game Call of Duty. The story really is WOW, and just draws you in true sense. In my opinion worth playing. It really is very FUN. I recommend.

    I have to give Call of Duty Black Ops a positive review as it is one of the most memorable and best games available to console in the Call of Duty's Series. This game has provided hours and hours of fun for me and my freinds as it has awesome multiplayer gameplay, fast action on Nuketown and Fireing range, and overall a good killstreak system. I loved the various weapons in which wereI have to give Call of Duty Black Ops a positive review as it is one of the most memorable and best games available to console in the Call of Duty's Series. This game has provided hours and hours of fun for me and my freinds as it has awesome multiplayer gameplay, fast action on Nuketown and Fireing range, and overall a good killstreak system. I loved the various weapons in which were available to you and how the interface worked in order to select primary, secondary, lethal, tactical, perks etc. This Game is a big success in the COD series and honestly implemented a completely different feel to Multiplayer and Single player gameplay, the Zombies is also great and i love the Resurrection DLC in which adds the old World at War zombies maps such as Deir Rise and Shino Numa, as well as moon in which gives a different take on Zombies. Good work Treyach and Activision on this release as it is a game in which can be played and played over and over and give the user an overall wonderful exsperiance in which a FPS should have… Expand

    Pros: + Feels like one of Michael Bay's great movies. + Action non stop, even the stealth segment have serious action. + Compelling story with nice twists. + Loved the different protagonists. + I    Black Ops has one of the most satisfying Call of Duty campaigns. It is definitely a short one; however, it is action packed from the start to last minute and has a compelling story line.

    The last Call of Duty game that is worth playing. The gameplay is fine and the Cold War setting is better than that in its succesors. COD games released after Black Ops are not worth playing.

Żadna kolejna czy poprzednia część nie przyniosła mi tyle frajdy z odkrywania fabuły gry. Po prostu, jeśli ktoś uważa że najlepszą kampania jest ta z Modern Warfare (a przypadkiem nie grał w BO) to powinien. Multiplayer daje sporo przyjemności ze strzelania i jest naWedług mnie ,,Call of Duty Black Ops" posiada jedną z najlepszych historii (nawet lepszą od tej z MW) w historii serii. Żadna kolejna czy poprzednia część nie przyniosła mi tyle frajdy z odkrywania fabuły gry. Po prostu, jeśli ktoś uważa że najlepszą kampania jest ta z Modern Warfare (a przypadkiem nie grał w BO) to powinien. Multiplayer daje sporo przyjemności ze strzelania i jest na prawdę wciągający. Kontynuacja trybu Zombie z World at War jest jeszcze lepsza niż w tam tej części. Mam nadzieję, że tak w skrócie udało mi się przedstawić tego COD'a.     Call of Duty: Black Ops. Remember the numbers, or the world will be on fire. An interesting and twisted plot in which there are a lot of new characters, but also a couple of long-forgotten ones. After Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and plastic weapons in Black Ops, you feel like you are shooting from real weapons.

Сюжет - просто лучший, а вот последнюю миссию могли бы и лучше закрутить, как и концовку. Так же лучшее главное меню, которое я вообще видел. И по графону хоть какое-то движение вперед.Геймплей местами ужасен - поток бесконечных противников, которые тебя ваншотят - это кошмар. Но хорошо что таких мест немного. Сюжет - просто лучший, а вот последнюю миссию могли бы и лучше закрутить, как и концовку. Так же лучшее главное меню, которое я вообще видел. И по графону хоть какое-то движение вперед.

    I can say for sure that so far the COD has one of the most intriguing stories in the whole franchise, showing something that COD had never done in storytelling at that pint and even today there is no other game in the franchise that has something like this (it's safe to say that the story has a little inspiration from films like Fight Club... or at least that what i think).

    As for the gameplay... it has nothing really new in comparison to previous installments on the series, it is still a first person shooter in which you only shoot the same enemy in every mission, such like World at War, COD Black Ops is a violent and dark game, which is the only accurate depiction of war that this games had.
    Moving to the MP portion of the game (which is the game mode that most of the players only play) It's... ok... i guess. the player base on the PC version is not that big, and somehow i can say i didn't had problems finding a match.
    Level design on the MP reflects most of the main locations from the campaign, the DLC maps are 50/50, some of them had a really boring design and structure, the maps i did love are the cuban maps, they are colorful and the layout gives a lot of alternatives to attack the enemy team, rather than go into a straight line like NukeTown which by the way it is the worst map ever in COD history.
    This game's MP portion rather that evolve it's class customization it feels like it devolve, I can say it has some cool weapons but attachments are pretty lame and most of this attachments makes to improvement on your weapon's accuracy or damage, actually... the only attachments you can add are just iron sights and that's pretty much it. Perks are not that great and the only ones i use are steady aim and scavenger, and even with the steady aim perk you will still have a massive recoil impact... sniper classes are a joke here, they are ZERO accurate!!!
    The last mode is zombies, the fan favorite zombies... I'm not a fan of that mode... you just have to survive waves of zombies while collecting point to move to another area and each waves this zombies will handle more damage. There are a couple of maps i like because of their concept and liitle story, the one featuring Kennedy, Nixon and Castro was hilarious and the one that has George A. Romero as a boss fight.
    And that's it, that's all i have to say regarding Black Ops, overall the story and campaign were good and action packed, but the MP was missing something, like i said, it felt incomplete, the class customization needed more perks and attachments in order to feel as good as MW2.    … Expand

    Treyarch improved on modern warfare formula and took it further.
    Overall gameplay and atmosphere is top tier.
    Story with the twists and well written characters, alternate history makes this game perfect.

    This is a cool cinematic shooter, my favorite childhood game, the game affects 60× year, I did not see this early, and again the Russians are to blame. I'm Russian, but it was fun to listen as they shout in the game, and, please concern to Russian, OK?

    The story is simply perfect. My only problem with the game was the less variety of weapons in the story. Multi and zombie modes do not interest me, so I did not add them to my final rating.

    Absolute Classic of a game. I played the story in 2019 and to this day its one of the best Shooter-Stories anyone can experience. Awesome settings, with great characters and lots of action, feels like watching a Blockbuster to be honest. Recommended!

    So far the best part for me.

    Very cool and fascinating story of 3 agents during the Cold War. The most beautiful storyline. The only disappointing thing is the checkpoint system, would it be like in MW2 :(

There was this one particular question that was roaming in my head right after I finished Modern Warfare series - how any other CoD installment is going to stand up against this monumental trilogy, especially Black Ops? The bar was simply set too high, I thought (and to be honest, still think). I worried Black Ops was going to wind up be a good but eventually an inferior game in comparison to Modern Warfare - did my concerns come true? Let's find out.

    In my humble opinion, the most important thing in any game is presentation and you can't think of a better presentation than the one Treyarch came up with. You don't even have to start the actual game in order to BEGIN the game - the main menu itself is already a part of the story, the immersion is cranked up to the maximum, you immidiately get hooked. Sure, it is not the first time the main menu is stylized to be a part of the game world (the first title that comes to my mind which did the similar was Medal of Honor back in 1999) but it is the first time the main menu is basically POV of your main character who is located in a REAL and RELEVANT in-game location. I think more games should adopt this approach (of course if their goal is to create a frictionless immersive expereince). Why is it so important? Because the moment I saw the main menu I knew the presentation of the rest of the game is going to be top-notch - I knew this game is going to be atmospheric, heavily story-driven, with great respect to details.

    Now let's talk about the story itself a little, shall we? As always the beginning is intriguing, the middle is a little bit dragged off and the last third is thrilling - classic. Maybe the only thing I had a problem with is this lack of chronological order - it was hard for me to keep the whole picture together with all the jumping back and forward in time. On the other hand this not so much linear approach gives it a kind of replayability because there is no way you are going to grasp all the nuances of the story in your fist playthrough. Oh, and yeah, I am not a fan of "prequels" - for example, my least favorite missions in MW series are the ones where you travel to the past to relive someone else's memories - I know it is kinda stupid but when I am in someone else's memory I don't feel like I have a choice, everything just feels too predetermined (for the same reason Better Call Saul will always be inferior to Breaking Bad for me. On the other hand I still manage to enjoy early Assassin's Creed tremendously though XD ). The problem is 90% of the missions in Black Ops are happening prior to your current situation you find yourself in but as I have already indicated maybe I am the only one who has a problem with that and to be honest not that big of a problem anyway. Of course the cherry on the cake is Fight Club / Shutter Island kind of plot twist which, let's be honest, we all knew was coming starting somewhere from the middle of the game and do you know what? There is nothing wrong with that. I can't say they made it too obvious, though one particular moment in one of the missions almost 100% spoiled it to me, I still had my doubts till the very end - it would be much worse if the plot twist came out of nowhere and there was no way to predict it (like in Heavy Rain, for example).

    So how Black Ops eventually stands up against the gold standard - Modern Warfare? Much, much better than I thought initially - of course it doesn't have the scope or the memorable characters MW has but it has a more intriguing story and a better presentation overall, it has its own style and soul which is very important for any piece of art.    … Expand

    This is arguably the best COD in the franchise, a must play. Best story, best zombies, best multiplayer. Graphics are also great. Although, I believe this game was best on console. The PC version that I have played is slightly broken, AI don't help and sometimes you grenade, shoot enemies with explosives and they won't actually die. 9/10

    WOW! This game was amazing! The action was GREAT, the story was GREAT, the characters were GREAT! This is a must play for seekers of amazing story and fps games and cannot be missed. My only issues was the audio which could have been worked on a bit more such as the ability to hear footsteps, better gun audio. PLEASE PLAY THIS GAME! THIS IS THE PINNACLE OF COD!

    This game is WAY more active than it is on Xbox 360. They're are community servers which some of them being Un-Hacked. I had recently replayed this game again on PC and I had fun, I haven't had fun on this game in awhile.

Memorable maps and zombie mode, for example, I also really liked. I don't think I'll be alone, and from what I've heard, a lot of people eat a Black Ops mulcher just because of zombies. But when we return to classic multiplayer, the killstreaks, which are also some of the best in the series, are also commendable. Oyun Soğuk Savaş döneminde gizli bir ekibe mensup olan bir Amerikan askerinin hikayesini konu alıyor. Alex Mason isimli ana karakterimizin elektrikli sandalyeye bağlanmış şekilde kimliği belirsiz kişiler tarafından sorgulanması ile oyun başlıyor. İlk olarak Mason, silah arkadaşları Woods ve Bowman ile Küba'da Fidel Castro'ya suikast düzenlemesi için görevlendirilen bir ekipte yer alıyor.     I think from this game on, call of duty franchise started to repeat itself and fall into a yearly loop of cliches
    but about the game itself, it's the usual stuff you expect from any call of duty game and doesn't offer you more
    I give it a 8/10 because of its good story

    I actually think it deserves 95 but I can't vote 95 so I voted 100.The game is really good.Scenerio is very interesting,complicated and exciting.Characters are fine.Action ssequences are fun.If the gameplay was better I might have given it 100.Graphics are still good,they were probably amazing for it's time.

    You can play multiplayer with bots. And there is also zombie mode. Triple package.

    Pathetic example of a over hyped game. Its very obvious the developer did not beta test this game. People using high end gaming computers that are way over min spec can't run the game without massive amounts of stuttering/lag. Activision really let its fans

    and very INSANE to play this game as good as BO2. Beautiful graphics, simple gameplay like every call of DUTY, the only thing I missed was the option to aim while holding the mouse button. One of the best missions was in a boat that shoots and there is background music... Sympaty FOR THE DEVIL

    i had a lot of fun playing this game , black ops is as fun as modern warfare is , the story is way deeper and told in a very interesting and personal way never seen in a call of duty game 8/10

    I play this game on my gaming laptop, good performance, no issues. The day i played the first 2 levels of the campaign, i went out to play the zombies and multiplayer. Atleast it does not lag and crash. I will give this 11/10 rating if i could. Thank you for reading.

    Black Ops is one of the best first person shooters this year, and is a obviously must have for any action fan. Intense, gory and quite brilliant, maybe it's not refreshing but at the same time its a stunning game.
