    A pretty average fps, stuck within the terrible user interface that has become the modern warfare game center.

    Story was mediocre. Game mechanics are clunky and even worse in multiplayer.

    I tried to refund but it was too late. Don't waste your $ on this lazy cash grab.

    Yeah, that was a freaking great game. One of the best campaigns in the whole franchise, the best zombies mode in any Call of Duty and also the multiplayer mode where I had the most fun (very nice maps, freaking nice guns, good music and so on). It's just a shame that the most part of the playerbase always move to the newest COD on the market and Activision do not make too much effort toYeah, that was a freaking great game. One of the best campaigns in the whole franchise, the best zombies mode in any Call of Duty and also the multiplayer mode where I had the most fun (very nice maps, freaking nice guns, good music and so on). It's just a shame that the most part of the playerbase always move to the newest COD on the market and Activision do not make too much effort to avoid hackers in the "old" games. Still, you have a pretty good package buying just for campaign/zombies.… Expand

    I liked Cold War so much from the Singleplayer perspective. I really liked locations, missions and approaches to directing the plot and how developers combined it with gameplay. Some missions stuck in my memory and I will return to this game to replay in the future. Yeap, this is not Game of the Year, but still a cool journey if you're looking for the game on 8 hours.

    Die Charaktere sind recht interessant, aber nicht wirklich komplex. Der Plottwist allerdings ist nicht nur ziemlich clever, sondern auch fantastisch umgesetzt, visuell und gameplay-technisch.

    No es un mal juego; los gráficos son fantásticos, los ambientes variados y la tematización y ambientación de la época es fantástica, desde la música, ropas, hasta los temas de la guerra fría, todo está presente de una manera detallada y bien realizada, sin embargo, en los detalles de la jugabilidad y en los temas técnicos éste es un juego con muchos aspectos inferiores a su predecesorNo es un mal juego; los gráficos son fantásticos, los ambientes variados y la tematización y ambientación de la época es fantástica, desde la música, ropas, hasta los temas de la guerra fría, todo está presente de una manera detallada y bien realizada, sin embargo, en los detalles de la jugabilidad y en los temas técnicos éste es un juego con muchos aspectos inferiores a su predecesor (Modern Warfare 2019).

    La campaña es corta, tiene temas y personajes bastante buenos, muchos que vuelven desde las sagas posteriores de Call of Duty, pero en cierto modo se siente como si la campaña no estuviese terminada, comienza muy bien y parece tener una buena trama y de pronto comienza a introducir decisiones del diseño bastante extrañas, por ejemplo, tienen un área base que francamente termina siendo completamente innecesaria, en ésta área uno puede revisar pruebas y detalles de cada misión lo cual en un principio es interesante, pero después parece ser algo que se pudo desarrollar de una mejor manera, y francamente, termina pareciendo como si mucho de eso esta ahí en forma de lecturas y demás para prolongar artificialmente la longitud de la experiencia.

    Hay dos misiones secundarias en el juego, pero terminan siendo sumamente básicas, tanto por los objetivos, así como por la trama de cada misión, se trata de implementar aspectos de investigación bastante básicos y muchos de ellos dependientes de secretos que uno pueda coleccionar en otras misiones, sin embargo, estas investigaciones secundarias terminan siendo completamente opcionales.

    Al final hay un buen giro y se te dan unas buenas decisiones, pero en general esta era una campaña que prometía mas de lo que dio.

    El multijugador es definitivamente la experiencia mas negativa y en donde se nota cada vez mas el impacto, si en la campaña tuve problemas técnicos en una misión que me forzó hasta disminuir la dificultad del juego para sobrellevar ese error, el multijugador en cambio ofrece muy pocos modos de juego, así como de armas y de mapas en comparación con Modern Warfare 2019.

    Si juegas modo local o privado, básicamente te reducen el modo de juego a solo una porción de los mapas disponibles para el juego, después hubo actualizaciones que añadió mapas y armas, pero no fueron lo suficientemente bien implementadas para hacer que las armas funcionaran en los modos locales o privados…

    El modo zombi en comparación es decente pero también tiene errores técnicos, un mapa en particular que tiene un concepto bastante bueno termina pareciendo incompleto en su diseño, los gráficos no están muy bien detallados y termina siendo algo que claramente uno puede ver fue “secundario” para los diseñadores.
    Lo que lo salva un poco es como esta estructurado, si el modo antes era un modo de supervivencia sin mas fin que el de ver cuanto uno podía sobrevivir, aquí se añadieron armas, sistemas de progreso, y también la oportunidad de escapar de los mapas para recolectar muchos de tus puntos y recompensas, estos son buenos sistemas que están bien implementados, solo desearía que los mapas fueran más variados y que hubiesen mas de ellos.

    En general creo que Cold War pudo haber hecho más, todo se siente deliberadamente incompleto, como si de alguna forma se hubiese intentado dar menos y menos de lo que se dio en Modern Warfare, lo cual es una pena por que si se hubiese utilizado mas de la calidad del Modern Warfare 2019, entonces podría haberse aprovechado más la temática de la guerra fría.    … Expand

    This is a little late but I think I have to say it.
    What the hell is going on with your engine that it needs so much power to run smoothly at 100fps? Sure my PC isn't the best and fastest but I'll be honest, when I play a Battlefield 2042 at 1080p and high settings, I easily get my 60 fps. With COD the Call of duty junk    I actually write reviews very rarely and even less for a game.

With COD the Call of duty junk engine you get your 60fps while standing but as soon as there is action the FPS number drops and the game suddenly only runs with 25/30 FPS.
    So the game is simply not playable for me and the money is thrown out the window. I hope that future games (after the current Modern Warfare) get a better engine and run smoother.    … Expand

    Good graphics, normal plot, as a some kind of fan-fiction on historical events. It has some interesting game-play mechanics, but still has those problems that have another games of that franchise... it's still a line-shooter and no more. Not bad side-quests. Very bad multiplayer.

    It took 6 hours to finish. I already tried to finish all multiple choices. I spent 60$..
    10$ per hour. It "must" be a joke! Please refund peoples money which is played in story mode.

    ótimo jogo, lembra muito o call of duty black ops 2, mas com gráficos atuais, o sistema de streaks mudou, mas particularmente eu gostei muito, mesmo sendo um jogo "rushado" e lançado antes da hora, é muito superior ao vanguard.

    I bought this game so i can enjoy it online with friends since the day it was released on PC, its been nothing but problems.

    I been getting errors with directx, I been getting connection problems, chat voice problems every update that comes out just end up screwing the game up.     Campaign is meh, too many little cucks camping in multiplayer, and the only thing good about this game is the zombies mode. If you like mp, play mw2019 or plutonium.

    Pra quem sente falta do black ops 2, esse jogo é perfeito, é quase que o BO2 remake, infelizmente o sistema de killstreaks dele não foi bem aceito pela comunidade mas achei legal a ideia de tentar inovar, mas seria melhor se fosse scorestreaks.
    Esse jogo saiu antes do que deveria, era pro vanguard ter saido no ano dele, mas mesmo assim ele consegue ser superior ao vanguard.

    급하게 마무리된 티가 너무 많이 난다. 분량이 너무 짧아 매 미션이 급전개라 느껴지는 캠페인과 역대급으로 처참한 멀티플레이. 블옵4와 콜드워 꼴을보면 트레이아크도 정리당하던지 증명하던지 택할때가 온것같다.

When i first started with the multiplayer, it was fine, but after a few weeks my performance went down and my weapons were no longer good, and enemy players had the advantage over me.     Really, my critique of this game is aimed towards the awful multiplayer mechanics, like being able to pay for a gun and immediately have an advantage. As well as seemingly broken features, like spawning infront of an enemy and immediately dying, or vice versa.
    There also feels like there's an aim assist issue of consistency not being met, especially when against players with purchased equipment. Sounds about right for a triple A developer these days.

    I really want to like this game, but yeah.
    Also, had to force V-Sync via the Nvidia Control Panel because the in-game V-Sync just doesn't work.    … Expand

    This game is not bad but not great, too much live service, Activision seriously needs their eyes opened but it's not going to happen because they just need to make as much money as possible. I'll play this but not all the time, I'll mostly be sticking to world at war through black ops 3.

    Bought it only for single player campaign on a sale day and it is really good and worth it. Never cared about multiplayer modes. Old good corridor shooter with basic story telling and cinematics. Even has multiple endings and some puzzles.

    The movement feels nice. Vaulting over things is fun. Reminds me a tiny little bit of Mirror's Edge.
    The animations in general and the gunplay is nice.
    The maps look nice with much love to detail (for example german words everywhere that also make sense)

    Neutral:
    A tiny step back to the roots perk wise.
    Exfiltration is a nice idea, albeit not really with much variety

    Neutral-Meh:
    The weapons' shot sounds seem a bit cheap, but okay enough.

    The bad stuff:
    The weapon rarity system is unnecessary and boring. It adds no depth to the game. It's just there to add another layer of randomness and that's about it.
    The streaks are uninspired and just copied from multiplayer.
    The characters are uninspired and just copied from multiplayer/campaign. There are no characters that are created for zombies with nice dialogues that move the plot and story forward. There is no banter between the characters. They are just empty shells.
    Less quests and shorter easter eggs.
    Attachments are random just for the sake of adding another layer of randomness.
    Zombies dropping loot doesn't seem to fit in this type of game. I liked the old system were you had to choose your loadout before starting a game.
    New point system seem to encourage egoistic behaviour.
    Gauntled mode got ditched for the utterly braindead and incredibly boring onslaught mode.
    Story that could have been gameplay or at least interactive script sequences (similar to Titanfall 2, Portal, SOMA or Half-Life) are cutscenes. It's stupid. Stop that! Interactive script sequences in first person perspective that don't completely take control away are fine, but cutscenes are lazy.

    The round starts, someone comes around the corner with the Shotgun Pistol, Aimt doesn't press once and you're dead. You respawn right in front of an enemy who shoots you in the back. The game is just no fun. Don't buy it!

    While the movement is fun and fast paced unlike MW 2019 there are just so many issues with it
    crashes, instability both client sided and server sided even months after release, still struggles with hackers and glitchers, the weapons are unbalanced as there are a handful that stick out as being the best and the rest most of the time is utterly useless and that new SBMM system only works half the time seeming more random then calculated based on stats. Overall this is not a great example of a CoD MP, i would wait for the new one or go back to the older ones before it unless you are only in it for the zombies.    … Expand

    This was my first call of duty game. Honestly it's pretty good but it's hard for me to enjoy the game when the bots play like they have never receive military training before. The zombie mode was confusing, really hard for new players to get into. The graphics are good.

    I enjoyed this game. Campaign was just so kick ass. I played it after a big launch though, that's why i've enjoyed it, because on launch there were so many stability issues.

    Multiplayer: far too many attachments on guns that change little to nothing, half the perks are useless and builds have no variety. The game has some of the worst maps in cod history, miami barely runs properly and is a giant open square with half the map being unused, satellite is a giant open field with 1 flank route that isn't covered by snipers, checkmate is a map to rival stonehaven for contender for worst map, it's a giant open warehouse with a small tube in the middle, it looks awful, plays awful and is an insult to level designers around the world.

    Zombies: Easily the weakest zombies experience to date, you start absolutely kitted out with a weapon of your choosing that can usually last you until you get the power on on any map, early rounds of zombies used to be some of the most tense, having to use a combination of a weak pistol with 3 mags and a knife to survive, now there's almost no tension in the hardest part of the game. As of writing this I have played about 20 hours of zombies and have died once, you are given so much hp, so much armour, so many outs with the field upgrades that the only danger is not killing all the zombies quick enough at extraction which leads to a hilarious cutscene of a zombie with a ****ing rocket launcher blowing up your escape helicopter.

    There are no characters anymore in zombies, there are operators, the publisher/developer's greed has lead them down a path of trying to pawn off different cosmetics to the point where now the story isn't one that we experience through the map and people we play as, but rather one we watch from afar through cutscenes and some of the most tedious unrewarding easter eggs. On top of this the maps seem to be aimed at the old zombies fans, the ones who liked simple maps like kino and der reise where you set up in 5 minutes and just spend ages training around an easy map, there's nothing for veterans, nothing for the fans who got invested in the zombies story and gameplay, there's nothing for the people who buy cod solely for zombies

    The wonder weapons are some of the dullest, navagating the pack a punch UI is worse than just dropping a weapon in and training for 5 seconds, playing for longer than an hour on a map will cause the framerate to drop to    … Expand

    So glad I didn't buy this (unless you count a GPU code as buying). After the last COD I thought the series would be good but this is your typical on rails 2005 crud. Do NOT spend money on this chossy cash in game. After putting in 8 hours I'll go back to the old one thanks.

Skill based matchmaking is a joke and playing this game for long periods of time is a mental health threat. I would even go as far as to say this game's multiplayer makes it more of a, "want to preform self-harm" simulator then an enjoyable and rewarding experience. This game gets a 4/10 and all of those points come from single player and zombies, multiplayer is a flat out 0 for me, save yourself and go play Modern Warfare 2019, or quite literally any other cod from the past couple of years if you are looking for a good multiplayer game.     the sbmm makes the game very competitive because you are being hammered to your skill ceiling 24/7, basically you can never catch a break! and the lobbies disbanding is just a sad reality, i have so many happy memories of trolling people and having a laugh and even making real friendships within matchmaking, but now you have to friend people and it ruins the experience, before you could all just chill and not leave the lobby and talk to a bunch of strangers, not anymore!

    with the negatives all said and done, zombies, campaign and multiplayer are all strong contenders this year, the zombies being a little easy but other than that, the 'trifecta' which makes Treyarch so great is true and strong in this call of duty title. Amazing campaign which i will play again when i have forgotten the plot in a year or so. the mp content, maps and gun play are really good.

    TLDR: That is all I have time for, a rather short review but it says all you need to know really. If you don't like being competetive, this game is not for you, even party games and jokey game modes are turned into a cesspool of CDL skins and sweaty gfuel-drinking cheese heads that use the most op create a classes.

    This is the most boring cod released by far. This game feels like Black Ops 1 but with slightly better gunplay. While Black Ops 1 was good for it's time, fps games have evolved quite a bit since 2010, but this game just feels like a huge downgrade from MW 2019. But this is the only good thing about the game. The campaign is utterly forgettable and boring, and the multiplayer as I have said before plays almost exactly like Black Ops 1 from over a decade ago. How did we go from a relatively solid CoD in 2019, to a massively gimped CoD in 2020/2021? Save your money and play something like R6 Siege instead. The game itself is pretty bad, featuring one of the shortest times to kill I've withnessed outside of a mil-sim which this is not. What you see on screen is reflective of whats actually happening.     Game looks good. Pros stop there. This terrible cash grab of a game is just a big meme. And you paid $60 for it. Server tick rates and pings are a joke. And the trolls that play this trash can of a game are not less funny. Call of Duty needs to take their shooter serious or just stop pumping garbage out of their studios. We NEED a solid competitor to put this dead cow to pasture....

    The GUI has all the polish of a mobile game, cluttered, confusing and difficult to navigate. On brand for the mobile game experience is the constant notifications for micro transactions selling useless skins.     The gun attachments are lazy and mostly useless copy pastes with no thought or difference put into the configurations.

    The gunplay and shooting mechanics feel dated and hit registry feels like a lottery.

    The game is riddled with bugs from launch that are not being fixed yet they continue to push out updates for stuff that makes them money.

    The integration with Warzone is a waste of time, who knows why they bothered adding it to the title screen, launching to the join Warzone from this takes so long you might as well put the kettle on.

    My 1 point for this game goes to the marketing team that persuaded me to buy this steaming pile of turd.    … Expand

    I bought the game a few days ago so here's my take:
    Cold War is a decent game instead of another cod this year The Devs should focus on what would please the fans e.g taking out skill-based matchmaking and more weapons.

    (i`m not an eng speaking man) COD cold war is the first COD i`ve ever bought. Multiplayer is interesting but Treyarch has forgotten about balance of guns and levels of players. Singleplayer isn`t so good for price but i like it.

    Just cause Playstation 4 / 5 version are bad (because weak loser console), doesn't mean you have to troll PC / Xbox Series X versions that run on ultimately superior hardware.

    It's very true that this game is bad on playstation consoles, because playstation is just weak pathetic console, so no wonder. But this game is solid on masterrace gaming systems like PC and Xbox Series X. Would recommend!

    Thank you EA for this wonderful game and game series! I never cared about cod multiplayer, because there's so many of them already. I play only singleplayer and singleplayer is only reason i care about cod and that was great!

    One of the best Call of Duty games in long time. It had kind of bad launch, but it's way better now. Can't wait for COD 2021, hopefully WW 2 !!!

    I've been basically scammed for 90 euro, broken game with to little new content to keep it interesting. They dont even care about changing maps to make them fit to the setting (raid and express).

    What feature, or lack thereof, would compel a Call of Duty fan to buy or skip a new entry at this point? It plays fine, and it’s the most recent one. That’s usually enough.

    Overall, I love the old-school feels of Black Ops in Cold War and I love the storyline. All of the modes are fun to play and offer a lot for old players and new players alike. It is fun to get back into the action with players from all consoles and on PC to make the action that much better with cross-play. There are some issues with multiplayer that will seemingly never go away but such is life for an online multiplayer game.

    The question of whether to pick up Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War on the PC is situational, despite it being a solid title. If you're the type of player who likes the campaigns that each entry brings forth, then you'll be fine with Cold War. The branching paths of the short campaign give it some replayability beyond simply increasing the difficulty. Fans of Zombies mode will also be fine, even though it suffers from having only one map (for now) and a PlayStation-exclusive mode that'll be unavailable on the PC for a year. Multiplayer fans are in more of a pickle. If you're tired of the maps in the prominently featured Modern Warfare but want traditional modes, then this is perfect, especially since the cross-play feature is going strong and there are people on both the last- and next-generation platforms ensuring the game gets a healthy shelf life. If you're primarily a Warzone player, you aren't going to bother with this one, since that free-to-play game is getting Cold War elements soon to keep it fresh.
