    The Mixed Reviews Coming from this Title is Understandable, Everyone expected a new type of gameplay but instead got exactly the same game with a prettier package and new Maps. I Really would have given this game a 10 if it had been less linear, but having the same linear gameplay mostly is really unforgivable. There are areas where you have multiple objectives that you can do in any order but its still very linear. The graphics though are the only major advancement as far as smoke grenades and effects. The Game also took away medkits which are replaced with Seek shelter and magically heal. ALthough many people hate this feature , it actually adds you to run to cover like in real life. Of course nothing that the game will include can imitate real life ...ex. You get shot IRL and your usually dead ...game over. So no matter if its a med kit that heals in an instant or taking cover, it truly does not take away from experience. I can't understand the very low scores some have given this game , but I was around during Pong so I am amazed at the Graphics and gameplay in a game as good as This series.… Expand

    Online play kicks so much ass and the single player is better.russia,england and america are great to play as in one single game. the guns and missions rock.

    This is an almost perfect game, as it throws in everything you would ever want from any WW2 game ever, and it is a triumph over the World War 2 genre in general. It has the best levels I've ever seen, and some of the greatest graphics and execution in a first person shooter I've ever seen.     The best of call of duty,this is the best one in my opinion,had a good story,great multiplayer and a friendly quiet community not some bloody messed up game built around the presitge system for try hards.

    Very intense fun gameplay, definitely better than all the newer CoDs. It has features that are finally being presented again in Ghosts, such as the lean feature.
    And surprisingly the graphics still hold up quite well today. I'll even go ahead and say this game has better textures than most modern games.

    Probably the best Call of Duty game.
    Mediocre graphics and gameplay, boring story and very slow game rythm.
    Anyway, it is a very good game, compared to the other CoDs.

    Arguably the best Call of Duty game of the series. Excellent voice acting, graphics, and overall effects that added to the realism and immersion experience. Truly an amazing game. I still remember storming the beaches of Normandy with this game. Love me some M1 Garand action, though the Thompson does the job nicely too. While very linear in progression, you can't help but feel that you'reArguably the best Call of Duty game of the series. Excellent voice acting, graphics, and overall effects that added to the realism and immersion experience. Truly an amazing game. I still remember storming the beaches of Normandy with this game. Love me some M1 Garand action, though the Thompson does the job nicely too. While very linear in progression, you can't help but feel that you're really helping to take back Europe from the Nazis.

    Additionally, the online multiplayer aspect of this game was phenomenal. I spent many hours of my fledgling online FPS career with this game (after a long hiatus from Counter-Strike made me extremely rusty) and it was a welcome substitute for CS.    … Expand

    Call of Duty 2 is the best shooter game that I have played. Why? One of the most fun and addicting campaigns ever. The levels are challenging and many times take multiple tries, but challenging games are fun. The campaign is fairly lengthy and is divided into three great sections (Russian, British, USA).The levels provide intense action, especially Pointe-du-Hoc, which is arguably, theCall of Duty 2 is the best shooter game that I have played.     The last great bastion of the Call of Duty series. Everything that has come since, with the exception of CoD 4: Modern Warfare, has been a carbon copy of its predecessor. The story, feel, and execution of this game in both campaign and multiplayer is solid and engaging. I look back fondly on it.

    Great single player. An even greater multiplayer. Limitless hours of fun to be had here. There weren't any expansion packs for this game which was really a pity. But the online community has provided plenty of mods and new gametypes/modes for you to play. There were realistic mod servers where you had 1 life the entire round....it was very intense.     Great shooter with interesting settings with the focus more outside of the boring west front. There is constant action and some funny elements.
    Technically this game is much better than the first one with much better graphics. Anyway dont forget to install Back 2 Fronts modification that improves the game a lot.

    Continuation of the first game, Call of Duty, comes with many bonuses and many improvements over first. It is one of the best games played. Honestly, not missing anything.

    Именно с этой игры началось моё знакомство с серией, чему я несказанно благодарен, ведь это знакомство сопровождалось просто кучей эмоций. Стало больше эпических моментов, если сравнивать с первой частью, к сожалению, именно с этой части пошёл "красный экран" или "кетчуп в глазах", из-за этого игра казуальнее прошлой части, но это не мешает ей быть одной из лучших игр в серии и    Шедевр.

    After playing CoD2 i was stunned. Just a awesome game! After i watched Band of Brothers i found so many similarities, that i was a bit shocked of cod. but overall its a wonderful game with great atmosphere! its simple and easy to learn. love it.

Despite this an old game, it is still fun to play. Don't listen to people that "the graphics suck", this is a game made in 2005 and these people who made fun of Call of Duty 2 don't know what they're talking about. It is also a good game for people who can't afford games like Call of Duty black ops 3 or OVERWATCH WHICH COSTS $60 and I think the price of Call of Duty 2 is worth it and it costs $19.99. For people who are playing this game for the first time, play single player mode first and go to campaign with NORMAL difficulty because playing in beginner mode will be easy and will be probably boring. Frankly I think it is the most realistic world war 2 game because if you take Call of duty world at war for example, they kinda exaggerated too much because one of the cutscence says we "out numbered the Germans 10:1" and they are describing the Russians as "Super heroes. While on Call of Duty 2, in the battle of Stalingrad it is true that Russians fought on buildings and especially on pipes. Also the Russians are not that strong because they use TNT's unlike on call of duty world at war they use BM-14's. I'm not saying that I hate call of duty world at war but I'm giving a comparison and not all games are perfect. The problem on Call of Duty 2 is that the multiplayer mode seems to be depleting but overall Call of Duty 2 is a great game.… Expand

    I think is one of the best call of duty i ever played. The campaign is great and the multiplayer, not bad. The Graphics are so good for this year. Most games not have this graphics in 2007 (until Crysis). No doubt, one of the best games i ever played.

    The greatest Call of Duty game ever made in my opinion. The graphics and gameplay are mush more polished than that in COD1. The Russian missions are the best levels that Call of Duty franchise has ever created.

    Call of Duty 2. Back on the battlefield. Even more dynamic and even more interesting, and all this is Call of Duty 2. In the sequel, the cinematography of this series of games already begins. This is no longer just a shooter like Medal of Honor, but this is already a small movie in which you are directly involved.

    Call of Duty 2 is a gem from my childhood. It has a bit short, but still a great single-player campaign and an all-time classic multiplayer. I would say one of the best, if not the best CoD game on the market.

    This is my all time favorite Call of Duty game.On second place is cod 4 but this one is the best.Back hen i used to replay all the missions from either the soviets the british or the americans and also the mods for this game are also awesome.I just hope that they make a good ww2 game except cod ww2 that is just meh.

    - Gameplay: Has seen significant improvement over the first one, guns feel more powerful and responsive. At least no more solo missions, and friendlies are able to kill now! -    GRENADES GALORE:
    What a huge disappointment this was... The game lets you play once again the same three allied countries (Russia, Britain, and the USA) before we delve into the bad, let's start with the good:
    - Gameplay: Has seen significant improvement over the first one, guns feel more powerful and
    responsive. At least no more solo missions, and friendlies are able to kill now!
    - Visuals: From a game that was released in 2005, the graphics somehow don't feel outdated and in
    fact at times I had to sit there and take in the scenery as planes bombed the area around me.
    - Audio: much improved, sounds make sense now, the game is still as loud as ever and I love that,
    makes you feel like you're in an actual warfare, unlike games nowadays where all guns sound
    suppressed and bombs sound like the balloon pops.
    - Voice Acting: Sure you don't have cutscenes and stuff, but the interactions and awareness of AI is
    pretty spectacular (when it comes to voice lines at least) for example, friendly soldiers will point out
    enemy positions and flanks, which really helped me numerous times throughout the game.
    They'll even shout each other names like "Wither take cover!"
    Now, the bad:
    - Story: once again the game has 0 cutscenes, 0 character development, I mean for god's sake it
    took me 30 mins to find out each main character name that you play as... The only memorable
    characters were Captain Price (just because of the later games) and Sergeant Randall. The rest
    were unmemorable as ****
    - Enemies: ok so here is my experience playing the game: Take cover, Get thrown at with 30
    grenades at the same time, attempt to run away, get shot at, die, repeat. Such a tedious cycle that
    sadly ruined the game for me.
    - The three countries: So I will give each allied country its own rating.
    Russia: 4/10, Britain 9/10, USA: 6/10
    [The Russian campaign was so immemorable. The British campaign was the best hands down,
    filled with different set pieces and great scenery. The USA campaign was super repetitive but D-
    Day and Sergeant Randall carried it]
    Overall, This game took me 10 hours to complete (cause Veteran difficulty which I don't recommend anyone to play it on) I expected way more from what I heard about this game... but Nah... This is back when COD campaigns weren't about the story and characters, it's just shooting and shooting, some people will like that sure, but not me, I want to get to know who's behind the gun. So if you want to play a game with seemingly never-ending nazis that carry around never-ending grenades that are thrown so precisely at you, then be my guest. I'm glad it's over.    … Expand

    I find implementing regenerating health to be a little troublesome. It allows you to experience a kind of combat only a mythical super-soldier could withstand, and in so doing, propels the game from gritty authenticity to John Woo fantasy.
