    Burden Street Station is a tightly-crafted narrative adventure dense with introspective dialogue, eclectic characters, and a focus on forging empathetic connections and meaningful relationships with those around you. Complemented by a bizarrely unique visual presentation and an atmospheric soundtrack that propels its characters to the forefront, this experience packs its short runtime to the brim with emotion and artistry. Fans of surreal narrative-focused games owe it to themselves to check out this earnest and heartfelt adventure for themselves.

    Burden Street Station kicks off with an intriguing premise and a handful of original ideas, but quickly derails thanks to frustrating navigation, unlikeable characters, and a messy clash of styles. The soundtrack and emotion-based mechanics keep things somewhat on track, yet in the end this train ride mostly ends in disappointment.
