    I am a Heavy Metal fan so for me this game could not go wrong from the beginning.

    Brütal Legend is a game where you can see that the creators had fun creating it. They put their hearts into it. It's a big project with lot of guests like Ozzy Osbourne, Jack Black as the main character and voices from Rob Halford, Lemmy Kilmister, Lita Ford and many more. The game has a huge open world with tons of stuff to do, tons of stuff to collect and explore and always keeps you busy with side missions and special assignments.

    I really like the interaction between all the characters and units, this is a game where you bond with the main character because you are basically playing as Jack Black. The graphics where and still are nice and the gore effects and finishing moves are giving your rampage a boost. Of course, the many metal songs you can play throughout the game makes it even better.

    The humor and filthy jokes are also there, especially in the cut scenes and they were a great deal of fun.

    I did not like the stage battles to much because the controlling of your units works pretty bad. You must be in range of your units to command them. Also, the battlefields can be a little confusing sometimes and you can quickly lose your overview on the situation. This led to some frustrations but nothing too bad.

    There were some frustrations however like the awful stiffness and uncontrollably of the Deuce car which made my blood boil sometimes and I really, really hated the racing side missions because of it and the fact that your opponent smashes you into a full 180 turn when he touches your car.

    But despite this I had fun all the way. The game is and always will be a great classic for me and now that I finally fully completed it, I felt it was all worth it.

Мир сделанный подобно обложкам альбомов метал групп. Присутствие участников любимых групп. Фирменный юмор Джека Блека. Созерцать всё это очень приятно. Что до самой игры в геймплейном плане, тут не без минусов.Благодарю DubleFine и всем причастным к проекту за такую игру. Всё что связано с лором, сюжетом, персонажами и диалогами в игре великолепно. Покатушки на машине хоть и приятные, но при каких либо столкновениях отлетает как пластмассовая игрушка. Но т.к. игр подобной Brutal Legend нет, она достойна занимать место лучшей игры про метал.     The game has terrible and uninteresting gameplay (it's very easy to play even at a high level of difficulty), the game tries to be a strategy, although it should be a cool slasher. But I forgive the game for all its visual and musical flaws. I play it every year and every year I enjoy the music and the picture. Hopefully, the second part will be released.

    Revisiting the game now in 2020, sure it's aged graphically and it feels like a game made nearly a decade ago, but it's also an absolute blast. It's unlike just about anything else out there. The voice acting is incredible. It's smart, funny, and charming. It feels appropriately badass and face-melty, just a great ambiance and environment. Super fun. Super funny. Super metal.

    Epic soundtracks with a lot of cameo's that I immediately recognize even though I wasn't really into metal. Also expected that this would have a top notch voice acting while blending humor that is just pure quality for a video game.

    There are some things that I wish they remove or somehow improve; specially the upgrade system where the unlocks are inconsistently upgrade/downgrade to what skills you usually have. Overall, it was a good hack n' slash game that uncovers itself half way as a real time strategy making it unique as a genre.    … Expand

    The theme alone puts this game in rare company. It is a genuinely creative and original piece of art, the likes of which Double Fine has an established history of creating. There’s one control quirk (when you play a guitar riff to carry out special actions in the game) that I’m sure worked better on console, but it doesn’t break the game by any means. As a matter of fact, if a gamer ever wanted to introduce a third-person gamer to RTS gameplay, Brütal Legend would be a fun and excellent way to do so. I highly recommend this game.     Ozzy Osbourne - Mr Crowley( Ophelia's story)
    This was the best game ever, it has all a good game needs. it has a good story, its got comedy, great action, Characters that by the end of the game you would miss if they are not in the sequel, and most of all it has a huge plot twist. all in all it was a perfect game.

    For a game released in 2009, this is great. I had no real knowledge of the game going into it, so I was very suprised when it went from open world to an inovative RTS + third person mixup partway through. A fresh take on the RTS genre coupled with a solid overworld to explore makes for some varied and engaging gameplay. Add on top of that some solid humor brought to you by Jack Black andFor a game released in 2009, this is great. It's even got multiplayer which actually might be the biggest aspefct of the game.

    The main negatives are the somewhat wonky vehicle controls and pretty mundane sidequests. If it were just an open world game it'd be hard to recommend, but there's so much more to it than that.    … Expand

    Brutal Legend got great style and humor, colorful but 1-dimensional characters and decent (but nothing more than that) gameplay. But it is a real tresure for metal fun: references, easter eggs and cameos all over the place.

    This is one of my favourites when it comes to single player games. RTS part of game is made well, and fits the world but i played it for open world RPG, so i got me a little bored. The humour is so great that i cant even describe it so just check it out yourself! This game has the best intro i've ever seen. Characters are interesting. Story is actually pretty good for that kind of game.

    El humor siempre está presente en los personaje, entretiene bastante.
    Lo mejor, LO MEJOR, es la música, ir por el mundo escuchando temazos clásicos es realmente increíble, los cuales puedes ir cambiando en la radio del Deuce, tu fiel vehículo. Cuando luchas ponen la canción ad hoc para el momento lo que se transforma en un disfrute constante.
    Hay muchas referencias a los grandes del rock, Ozzy, Rob Halford, Lemmy Kilmister, Lita Ford. Y además hace burla al glam rock y al gothic en menor medida
    El juego si bien no es muy larga la trama principal, tiene muchas misiones secundarias para entretenerse, desde hacer emboscadas, carreras, luchas con catapultas, etc.
    Repito, si no te gusta el rock pesado, no te recomiendo mucho el juego, porque este es el enfásis(la misma sinopsis del juego te hace ver eso).

    Lo bueno:
    - Muy buena Música!!!
    - LLeno de Humor.
    - Grandes referencias musicales.
    - Trama y jugabilidad entretenidas.

    Lo malo:
    - Los combates con tus aliados suelen ser algo torpe el sistema de dar órdenes a éstos.
    - La movilidad del vehículo no me gustó para nada, es algo torpe y difícil de controlar.
    - Si bien lo principal del juego entretiene bastante, no llega a un nivel excelso de destaque(por eso no le pongo un 9 o un 10)

    this game is so awesome! i've replayed it countless times! even though the graphics are kinda outdated, even for 2009. the game mechanics just works! and the strategy mode is really well made. the gameplay and fighting is also pretty good.

    + Storyline : the story is not a serious one , there is a lot of humour and Heavy Metal in the story but its actually a really unique and awesome story.
    + Characters : The characters are all charismatic and likeable
    + Collectibles : All collectibles are discovered in the map . 1/Legends : Story Cutscenes to understand more of the story and the background of the universe. 2/ Solos. 3/ Jumps. 4/ Motorforge : the store to upgrade and customize. 5/ Buried Metal : New Metal Songs to play in the Deuce(Car). 6/ Landmarks 7/ Serpents.
    + Customazation : 4 outfits for you character + 9 different Axes / 8 Guitars . Both of the axe and guitar all have the same animation they only make your attacks more powerful. + Back patches + 11 Skin for you Deuce + 5 Primary Weapons and Secondary weaponsa and upgrades for your deuce.

Anyways, the gameplay is nice, the story is overall very nice. The gameplay is nice, but the defend/attack parts are hard, you need to keep your troups up, help them attack and the fly function goes very fast. The voiceacting is good, the IA from your troops are nice too, and your rock effects are fun to act out. The characters/NPC's are very intresting, but some are gigantic dicks.… Expand

    It´s Brütal Legends, its not GTA 3,4 5, or buckshot. And I like it, no, I love ! the humor of the figures , the enemies , the game-play, the real original and fantasy arts of Brütal Legends. I played around 5 hours, and made at that 2 or 3 steam-baskets. I wasn´t a meal freak, and Tim Schafer made and Jack Black made me one. Also I´m still wondering whether its the best metal game , orIt´s Brütal Legends, its not GTA 3,4 5, or buckshot. And I like it, no, I love ! the humor of the figures , the enemies , the game-play, the real original and fantasy arts of Brütal Legends.     It's a decent console port. While the game style isn't new, the setting is unique, which might or might not be to everyones tastes. I was actually more interested on the story and characters than the gameplay itself so I probably overlooked many details brought up by other reviews posted here.     It's a good luck for me that I played that game. Action and Strategy mixed out well and gives you a chance to meet with rock universe. If you like rock music and metal also can play games, play it, you'll not be disappointed.

    Great game. I was impressed with the art-style. The graphics level is not super high, but it is good, and creates the mood and theme very well, It has a really satisfying battle and driving system, and it has a lot of variation in it such as: the strategy portion where you are the commander of a portion of troops, racing, and a beat them up in a open, WELL POPULATED world. Although there are a few negative comments I have, which are: The initial part of the game is on rails ,which was hard to push through, and there are a few minor graphical errors where there is visual clipping in few cutscenes, but none in the gameplay that caught my attention, and that the opponent in the races does not seem to be affected by crashing into it.… Expand

    This is a VERY good game! I was slow to pick it up because, honestly, I didn't realize that it was a AAA title. Boy, was that a mistake! The soundtrack, even to a person who doesn't listen to a lot of metal, is amazing. We're talking like maybe 40+ licensed top 40 metal songs. The game features tons of professional voice work from Jack Black and other recognizable figures. TheThis is a VERY good game!     If you look at its style and atmosphere, Brütal Legend is the amazing journey into the depth of the metal fan's soul. However, the game itself is not so special - stereotypical missions, not very optimized controls but mainly its malfunction game mechanics preventing Tim Schafer to reach the Metal Mount Olympus. Anyway, the game is working and entertaining at the same time. And that is the most important thing about this game title.
