    To enjoy this game, you must:

    A) accept it as dumb, mindless, repetitive fun, and B) realize that it's not a love letter to American action movies (as IGN describes it), but rather a satirical view of America's foreign interventions. In this game, there's quite a bit of anti-American sentiment, and missing that is missing a rather big point the developers were trying to make. This    To enjoy this game, you must:

    A) accept it as dumb, mindless, repetitive fun, and
    B) realize that it's not a love letter to American action movies (as IGN describes it), but rather a satirical view of America's foreign interventions. In this game, there's quite a bit of anti-American sentiment, and missing that is missing a rather big point the developers were trying to make.

    This is very evident in the level descriptions, where America is portrayed as xenophobic, warmongering, and politically inept. Here are examples:

    "Iraqistan? F#$k Iraqistan. Americanize them!" (--Obviously a reference to Operation Iraqi Freedom)

    "The people from this country look, speak, and act differently than we do. We've gotta move fast!"

    "Yourkraine? More like OURkraine." (sic)

    "Something something bipartisanship something something unilateral action."

    As an American, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with this. I actually think it's hilarious. Just pointing out that we're not in on the joke here; we are the joke.

    Gameplay wise, it's fun but best with a party. Some of the character abilities arent well balanced (Indiana BROnes is useless), but overall pretty varied and interesting. I particularly enjoyed the desperate attempt to fit a "bro" into names that can't possibly be used for that pun, such as Ellen Ripley.    … Expand

    Broforce, or, as I like to call it, The Expendables if it wasn't sh*te, takes the irreverent humor that permeated Team America: World Police and amps it up to truly obscene levels, never letting up on the gore or, perhaps more importantly, the fun. No matter how repetitive decimating throngs upon throngs of faceless terrorists in increasingly creative ways gets, the game excels at keepingBroforce, or, as I like to call it, The Expendables if it wasn't sh*te, takes the irreverent humor that permeated Team America: World Police and amps it up to truly obscene levels, never letting up on the gore or, perhaps more importantly, the fun. No matter how repetitive decimating throngs upon throngs of faceless terrorists in increasingly creative ways gets, the game excels at keeping things fresh, whether it be via introducing a new enemy type or bringing a new Bro into the action. But perhaps the most unreservedly entertaining aspect of the game is how hilarious it is. Uncalled-for explosions, satirical jabs at the "America, F*** Yeah!" mentality, and a copious amount of muscles permeate Broforce and turn it into an experience you aren't likely to forget. The level editor is excellent and keeps the game from getting old; multiplayer follows suit by doubling (or even quadrupling) the fun.

    On an overall scale, Broforce is easily one of the most hilariously entertaining games currently on the market. Although it still could use some work in some areas, all of these issues are compensated for with explosions and testosterone aplenty. To say it would offers a bang for your buck would be an understatement; this game will turn even the most devoted tea-drinkers into fully-fledged American citizens.    … Expand

    Destruction, chaos, explosions, guns, Murica, terrorists, and killing satan at the end of every level results in one of the greatest retro throwback games I've played since Hotline Miami.

    How have I only heard about this game now?? It's amazing, a friend introduced me to it the other day. Best multiplayer fun I've had in ages!!! Love it!!

    The best fun for the value out there. Broforce was delightful. Funny, challenging to just the right degree, and full of blowing things up. Loved it. It's an homage to action movies and a satire of 'Merica!nism. Show me someone who doesn't love this game and I'll show you someone who is grumpy.

    What do you think would happen if you mixed Vegeta from Dragonball Z Abridged with Michael Bay? Well besides a disgusting mess that would bring pain and suffering where ever it goes, you would also get the video game, BROFORCE. It has an amazing campaign, awesome characters, fun as hell gameplay, and some of the most fun co-op I have ever experienced.     It's essentially an 8-bit run-and-gunner starring characters from old action movies such as Robocop, John Rambo, and.. wait, Chuck Norris is in this game? Ok, it's perfect. I'm clocking out early. 10/10. Anyways, the environment around you is completely destructible, which makes for more gameplay options. Also, there are so many explosions going on, it would make Micheal Bay    Badass.

    This takes all the best features from Metal Slug, puts them on steroids, and then injects a ton of MURICA into the equation.

    Behind the humor, is amazing level design, varied monsters and locations to discover, and tons of unlock-able characters.

    Oh yeah... And there's a level editor, and 99999999 levels have already been made by the community!!

    Una maravilla jugable que combina acción frenética y plataforma. Controlas a un grupo de personajes basados en peliculas o videojuegos. Cada uno de ellos con su particulares armas y poderes. Te enfrentaras a perros, suicidas, soldados, maquinas a cada cual mas bestial...todo para que no llegues al final de cada nivel y puedas escapar. Encima, trae editor. Diversión para años.

    - You can play online, but it is harder than offline campaign.

    I guess it's a fun game with nice design gimmicks, but really lacking in depth once you see past the Team America -antics. The game is totally over-hyped, you might like the game but don't be fooled - it's only a nice little side scroller, nothing more.

    Muito bom! Ótimo para jogar com os amigos em casa, tanto a campanha quanto o versus. Personagens incríveis! Um dos melhores jogos indies que já joguei!

    It's an awesome game for fan of action movies. This game is badass, fun, laughable and easy!! :p It's not a die and try but just a nice retro game accessible to all!! (the hardcore mod is accessible in the options)
    However: the price is too expensive :( 14$ for some hours. Even it's fun, it stay repetitive after 5-6h.

    I went into this only knowing what I saw from the screenshots and the trailer. I bought it roughly on the high ratings on steam. I would say that I have had a blast playing this game, both for the humor and the challenge. I have found myself dying multiple times on each level, knowing it was my fault and being excited to try again.     Humor is great but besides that it's pretty repetitive. Basically you do the same stuff over and over again without any progress at all (gameplay doesn't evolve a bit).

    If you love side-scroll shooters and dumb 80's action film then you will love this game. It has the right combo of action and humor with plenty of nostalgia to make it one of my favorite PC games.

    I could play it for the rest of my life, and not die because my pure patriotism would keep me alive.
    Good job for a game made by some South Africans with minimal equipment.

    i hated this game; the campaign was stupid; it was too easy and simplistic; ironbro was generic and the concept was absolutely generic as well. I'm sorry, but why was such a game created that is so bad, easy (hard for some idiots who don't know how to play games) and generic made? Kudos for the developer for making the game, however, it needs to be changed a lot; possibly a campaign thati hated this game; the campaign was stupid; it was too easy and simplistic; ironbro was generic and the concept was absolutely generic as well.     A pretty fun game for the multiplayer mode. I'd give it an 8, but I've run into connection and syncing issues every time I've tried to play it online, which usually start to kick in just as you make it to a new area. If they can resolve those issues, I could recommend this game. Until then, it's a "meh, get it on sale."

    One of the funniest games I've played with friends :)

    Pros:
    -Amazing characters from the best action movies ever (Brominator, Rambro, Brommando, etc)
    -Up to 4 simultaneous coop mode
    -Great pixel graphics
    -Super-fun game play

    Only one con: Sometimes it has some serious on-line playing bugs ^^U

    This game is great. I played it on my Switch and performance was great. Only the very last boss fight was a little rough. The game is extremely fun and I love the satirical view on the USA. The game is obviously meant to mock the US interventions on the premise of "freedom". The game is simple but fun. Overall, a great experience.

    Un juego gore super divertido para jugar con amigos. Jugarlo de forma individual también es divertido pero con amigos es otra experiencia. Muy gracioso y con personajes perfectos.

    En conclusión, uno de los títulos más atractivos y divertidos que podemos encontrar en el mercado.

    Manejar algunos de los grandes héroes de acción del cine por escenarios destructibles repletos de enemigos y con una jugabilidad desafiante y frenética es una gozada.

    A eso le añadimos un control perfecto, un pixel art maravilloso y un multijugador a 4 tenemos un juego redondo.

    Definiría este videojuego con una palabra: diversión. No sólo es un juego entretenido, su humor satírico es brillante. Juegas a ser un héroe americano tipo Rambo, pero todo cargado de divertidas sátiras. La jugabilidad es buena, aunque hay momentos en los que solo aprietas el gatillo y sales bien librado.

    Art: someone is going to say that graphics and ugly art and I tell them is great, it allows you to appreciate the scenarios and it is a pleasure that they are there, even 16-bit graphics help to improve aesthetics

    Final note: I never thought that an indie was among my 30 favorite games in history but here is the final shoot and run

    Broforce is a modern indie take on Metal Slug with a faster pace and more explosions. The art style is beautiful and the game has great humor, especially if you pay attention to details. It feeds a lot from the 80s-90s action movie culture and if you are familiar with unlockable characters from Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris to Mad Max, Blade and many others, you will get a much more enjoymentBroforce is a modern indie take on Metal Slug with a faster pace and more explosions. The art style is beautiful and the game has great humor, especially if you pay attention to details. It feeds a lot from the 80s-90s action movie culture and if you are familiar with unlockable characters from Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris to Mad Max, Blade and many others, you will get a much more enjoyment out of it. As much as it can be played with 4 players online co-op, the sweet spot is with 2 players. Otherwise, you might find yourself in a chaotic mess of explosions and it will be quite hard to follow what’s really happening. Each character has its own main and special weapons which all feel quite unique and offer a different style of gameplay. You do not get to choose your character (which would probably lead the majority people to mostly choose their one favorite character), but I felt this was a good choice in terms of game mechanics and motivates you to have different approaches to the level based on your given character for that specific level. This also prevents the game from feeling repetitive, which it otherwise would as you most levels are not that different from each other except the ones with the aliens.

    There are two drawbacks I can think of. The game continues during the cutscenes and when the cutscene is over, you might find yourself in an undesirable situation which is a bit frustrating. The other drawback is that the custom campaigns are offline only, a missed opportunity by the developers. With a good level editor and ability to play custom campaigns online, Broforce could have been a classic.

    Overall, Broforce is a great co-op to play with a friend. It is very enjoyable for as long as it lasts and ends before it gets boring.    … Expand

    Broforce é um jogo de ação e comédia muito bem feito e extremamente divertido em um primeiro momento, além de ser uma ótima homenagem aos clássicos heróis do cinema estadunidense. Ele é tão longo e repetitivo, porém, que a felicidade do jogador vai lentamente se esvaindo, até sobrar somente uma expressão de frustração e cansaço.

Because this is the pc version, Steam workshop is supported for this game, and that increases the length of this game a whole lot! There are thousands of user-created levels to play around with. And with a build-in level editor you can create your own levels easily.
    Co-op is great. You can play the campaign (i recommend to spice up the difficulty because you have twice the chaos) and there are cool co-op gamemodes to mess around with. You can even play workshop levels with up to 4 players! I completed the whole campaign with a friend on hard difficulty and it was a lot of fun.

    BROFORCE is good game, but ONLY if you have friend, I was playing this game with friend, on hard, and it was hard! I love that you can unlock characters like "BROnan barbarian" "BRO in black" or "BROdator" (conan barbarian, man in black, Prodator), so if you are bored and you have friend (or friends) you need to buy it! I recommend it to every cinema fan!

    Um jogo muito divertido para matar a saudades de jogos ao estilo cooperativo local. Me recordo de quando chamava amigos para jogar esse tipo de game! O jogo apresenta momentos divertidos e você poder dar boas risadas com amigos, enquanto passam por fases que em dificuldades mais altas, apresenta grande desafio. O maior defeito do game são fases repetitivas, o que acaba por incomodar umUm jogo muito divertido para matar a saudades de jogos ao estilo cooperativo local.     You aren't a real American unless you play this game, bro! This game will also increase your penis length and girth! And if you don’t have a penis, you will assuredly sprout one! A red, white, and blue penis! I recommend playing with a controller that features a quality D-pad, such as those manufactured by 8BitDo.

Normally I don't usually put such high marks on games, but this is a very good exception, BROFORCE is a great example of how the last CONTRA games should have been, with the concept of Run'n'gun, in which the player must run towards the goal while not stopping shooting at everything that moves. The game is fun, addictive and quite complete in terms of the number of characters as well as the characteristics of each one, since ALL PLAYABLE CHARACTERS have different abilities, for example it is not the same to use one who goes with a shotgun as chuck norris, to use a terminator who is armed with a minigun. The game controls and the way of playing is perhaps the most attractive, since it is quite easy, you only require the usual buttons to move and 3 to execute different skills such as, shoot, use the ultimate attack of the character (each one with a different one) and a knife or physical attack. The above controls work perfectly in scenarios which are fully destructible. The characters in this game are based on movie characters from the 80s to the mid-2000s and all with the word BRO, in their name creating absurd but fun word games. The game in its first 15 phases is really a walk, from then on the game is difficult, especially in boss fights where passing one to the first is like having Jesus Christ at your door to take a picture with you. The game has a very well done satire on the stereotype of American movies where heroes killed, terrorists, aliens and even demons with the aim of "Liberating" that country or zone from the wicked. Broforce is fun to play with friends and without them, after the campaign there are fun modes, like a duel mode or even a super mario maker baby prodigy. In short, this game is perfect, even its soundtrack inspires me to take a trip to kill terrorists.… Expand

    Simple and addictive. I am extremely late to the review Broforce, but I now understand why this game made such big waves. It’s a very simple formula mixed with a very nostalgic charm. It’s extremely easy to pick up, it’s super fast paced, and the further you get, it makes you want to keep trying when you get stuck because of how quickly you can get in and out of levels. There isn’t much else to say. It’s a game you have to experience yourself, because I watched videos of this game for many years and did not understand the attention it received.     It's a cool retro game that plays on nostalgia like piano. It still has its own lags and problems, but overall it's a cool game to play on a lazy saturday. The biggest problem I've found is that it's short... like reaaaaly short, you can actually pass it in 2-3 hours!

    Broforce is a typical “from fans for fans” type of game and as I said before if you have grown up on action movies and TV series from the 80’s and 90's you will enjoy it even more as you will find there many pop culture allusions. What I like about the game - funny retro atmosphere, wide variety of heroes with strong personalities and various skills and weapons, level design that makes you not only shoot but also thinking a bit, destructible and interactive environment, reasonable difficulty, responsive controls, stylish audiovisuals and the presence of local multiplayer. There are really not many things that I dislike - maybe the absence of dubbing as I think that some one liners would make the game atmosphere even better, more distinctive music in 80’s style and higher variability of enemies. Is it suitable for family playing? Well, there is a local multiplayer so if you get over the blood and violent nature of the game you can play it with 10+ years old kids. After all, thanks to the pixel graphics and sense of humor it is not such a drastic game.

    Broforce is a 2D relative of Just Cause. Got bored? Go entertain yourself. Life’s too difficult? You can stop whenever you want. Just don’t expect anything from the developers — they put hundreds of exploding barrels everywhere, gave us a ton of guns and called it a day.
