Really good game, still, and best with friends. Not a typical shooter, has a great storyline, and some awesome DLC-s.

A successful run&gun, especially fun with 3 other people.
Although the characters and voice acting is good, story is mediocre i'd say.

This game is really good. Only good thing about game is, it's story is a bit underrated. But this doesnt matter. If you like shooting and being rewarded for this, this game suits perfectly for you

Endgame balance would be my main complaint with UVHM and OP Levels adding a generally unfavorable level of difficulty the series is not known for nor does it need. Especially after an increase from OP 8 to 10, I've just stopped using the whole system for the most part. Luckily the enormous amount of quality content makes up for that one flaw. The announcement of the first 3 games coming to switch is amazing. Highly suggested for anyone who loves looting and shooting. Expand

Borderlands 2 is best loot-shooter ever made. If you like shooters good, this game is for you, but if you like shooters with best story and best villain ever created, you will love it! It's much better than Borderlands 3. Ok, everybody bought this game for Handsome Jack!

A very good game in its genre, with an interesting plot and funny humor.
I also want to say separately about side quests and DLC, they are wonderful and interesting.

I like the humour and the comic-style of the game. i don't like the missions sometimes when you have to walk the same way for the 100th time and can't quick-travel.

Good, long-lasting game. Enjoyed it. Nice art style, good characters to select from. Didn't like Gaige that much but Zer0 is great. Maya is probably my favorite. This game came out for free on Epic Games recently, and although there are many bugs I'll probably make a decent playthrough all over again.

Decent game with average gunplay that makes you keep playing for the story and specially the characters. It's good for the time I guess, but I don't like this kind of shooters anymore, and I remember playing a little bit tired of this game at the last mission.

What Borderlands lacked in compelling characters and a good story, Borderlands 2 makes up for it with the introduction of Handsome Jack and Tiny Tina, for example, whilst improving on its distinctive aesthetic and addictive gameplay with lots of crazy customisations. Pandora looks and sounds so rich with style and with refined looter shooter mechanics, Borderlands 2 is the best in its class.

Borderlands 2 is the literal definition of Shoot n' Loot.. You shoot enemies, they drop guns and stuff, you pick them up, you get stronger, you get legendary guns, etc. Heck, there are more than 15 million guns in this game (yes I know it is because of gun parts on a gun). But I think the best part of the game is the story.

Borderlands 2, although it has an interesting world and tasks, but for some reason there is no desire to play alone.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of, if not the greatest video game of all time.

Borderlands 2 has been very close to my childhood, and I recently came back to play it once again. The game controls very well, and those controls are so simplistic that a 5-year-old could get them down easily. The story is flawless and does have a decent plot hook where angel is revealed to be working with Handsome Jack all along.

There is only one problem that I have with this game, and it happens to many games, is the poorly aged comedy. Though in 2012 I would have found many of the jokes hilarious, most of them are just dried out and no longer funny.

I love this game and it will forever be the greatest game in my heart.

Okay, sorry for that Tiny Tina outburst. I love this damn game. I got it for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. With over 1000 hours between the three of them.

The story picks up a bit after BL1. They're part of the Crimson Raiders, a group of former Crimson Lancemen and citizens from the various towns in part one who are struggling to make a living. New characters, new weapons...same everyone's favorite trash can robot, Claptrap. Tiny Tina and Torgue are my two favorite characters. Both have funny personalities, though I can see some people complaining about both.

Get some friends, and damn, this game quickly becomes "MY LOOT!" and everyone leaving everyone for themselves. So much fun.

With DLC, there's 6 Vault Hunters. And the commando (equivalent to Roland in BL`1) Can actually THROW his damn turret, instead of just dropping it in front of him. The cheesiest character is Salvador, he can, with the right weapons and build can just use his ability, gunzurking, near indefinitely. To me, he's not a fun character. Whereas I like to play as Axton the commando, as his abilities focus on either explosives (grenades, rockets, and certain Torgue guns), or Gaige who, when built with Anarchy has a high risk, high reward. Well, not really high risk, but as you gain Anarchy, you lose accuracy. I had 400 stacks, sniper rifle aimed at a dude maybe 5 meters away and still missed. Another mission, for Tina, I had about 300 or so, and the objective was to get this guy to her so she can....have a tea party. To keep him "occupied" you have to shoot near him. I was facing 90 degrees away from him, and, not wanting to lose anarchy stacks but wanting to reload, I shot. It killed him. Hilarious but annoying.

The guns in this game are gun, and some are just powerful, but the recoil animation...something doesn't click with me compared to part 1's revolvers and snipers. The gunplay in Part 1 seemed so much better.

And the one thing I dislike are some things get super repetitive.

    Good:
    Graphics
    controls
    Story
Characters (Tiny Tina and Mr. Torgue Felxington are my faves).

Neutral: Gunplay (the way the gun recoils/feels in the hands). Something is lacking from BL1

    Bad.
    Somewhat repetitive

Still lives up 8 years later as one of the best looter-shooters in video game history. If you don't have this game yet, buy it immediately. Get multiple copies to play with your friends. Great plot, humorous dialogue, awesome loot and fantastic missions and NPC's.

One word, and one word only: amazing. This game delivers on everything we could've hoped for transitioning from the original. The jokes were well-crafted, the deliveries on lines, spare some, were spot-on, especially with Handsome Jack. The story had a well-established pace that could always be filled up with some of the vast amount of genuinely hilarious, sad, or occasionally mundane sidequests. You always feel like you're improving and finding cool new loot to make your character that much better at killing bad guys. It's a fun adventure that must be played by any FPS, RPG, or looter fan, especially with friends. The only real gripes I have is some farming can be quite tedious and can become unrewarding and unfun, the leveling system can be pretty broken before TVHM end-story and you can easily become underleveled or overleveled if you don't do the exact amount of side missions, and finally: The Hammerlock DLC. Just. No Gearbox. Never again. Expand

It’s addicting, full of creative gags and amazing battles (especially in co-op mode) and it keeps dangling that loot-carrot in front of your face. Add that crazy humor on top and you have a synonymous for the world ‘entertainment’. [November 2012]

If you're looking for something with a ponderous story full of morality and contemplation – one best savored alone – then you'll need to look elsewhere. Borderlands 2 delivers tons of lighthearted, occasionally juvenile fun with immense replayability, and is best approached with a few buddies in tow. It doesn't revolutionize the concept pioneered by its forebear, but it refines it to a razor-sharp edge and offers some of the most fun you can have in a cooperative action RPG this side of Diablo II. And if nothing else, it's got lots of Claptrap.

The moment at which my endearingly annoying robot companion Claptrap fashioned himself a Mohawk out of some animal fur I collected he earned a spot on my all-time favorite robot list.
