    The progression system can lead to some very fun character builds, the presentation is pretty good and the story can be pretty fun. However this game is unbearably repetitive. The gunplay is also especially weak and only becomes a little satisfying with higher level builds. The early sections of this game play terribly for a FPS title and to be honest this game is just not very good.     Starting with things I like, this game has a great atmosphere to it. The visuals look good, the design and sci-fi esthetics are great. The music, although noticeably more restrained in nature than some of Jesper Kyd's or Sonic Mayhem's other works, is also pretty cool. The writers sustain just the right amount of comedy, without turning the characters into pure caricatures (well, mostly).
    And there's the shooting... It's a shooter, so unfortunately 90% of the time you won't be contemplating views or admiring characters - you'll be shooting. The shooting feels rather good. There's a health variety of weaponry as well. Unfortunately though there's just too many enemies, like all the time. Not only are there dozens of enemies in nearly all the locations, but they're all total bullet sponges and keep respawning almost instantly. The shooting gets tedious very fast. I know there's a lot of people who'd get an orgasm every time they'd pop a headshot, but I'm not one of them. All I see is devs just trying to overwhelm the player by throwing hundreds of goons at him. And when they try to mix things up it gets even worse. Oh, you don't have an electrical gun on you? Oh, that's too bad, because you can only beat this boss with an electrical gun. Oh, you don't wanna backtrack for several minutes just to get an electrical gun, all the while facing more respawning enemies? Well, that's too bad, because that's the only option you got!

    If they wanted to keep these endless hordes of enemies, they should've made them more realistic. And I don't care what kind of cartoonish universe this is. I admit, I'm not too good at making headshots, but if I freakin' shoot the most common enemy in the chest five times he should be dead, not charging at me at full speed, all the while maintaining perfect aim.
    Alternatively, they could've simply reduced the number of enemies you encounter at any given time, so that you would have more time and space to maneuver and think strategically on the run.

    All in all, I really wanted to enjoy this game. It has some good vibes and some very positive aspects, but this shooting frenzy for me personally is just insufferable.    … Expand

    I recently played Borderlands 2 in Coop with a good friend. We hat much fun and a great time with it, but I have to say, that beside trashtalking the game had a few things I certainly disliked. In the end its a game, where you run around or drive around and visit villages, where you blatantly kill everyone, which is all fun and games until you are out of ammo. Its really annoying to openI recently played Borderlands 2 in Coop with a good friend. We hat much fun and a great time with it, but I have to say, that beside trashtalking the game had a few things I certainly disliked. In the end its a game, where you run around or drive around and visit villages, where you blatantly kill everyone, which is all fun and games until you are out of ammo. Its really annoying to open every chest and loot it. Why? And if you get killed, you are given the opportunity to revive yourself by killing one enemy while crawling on the floor. But when youre revived, you have like 10 health and get killed again, which starts a really annoying loop of dying and crawling around. Especially in boss fights this happened a lot. I think the game repeats itself many times, because theres no variety in gameplay beside killing people and creatures in different places. The plot is alright but to be honest, I completely ignored it, because the storyline didnt catch me, at all, like not at all. Plus, I felt the story felt stretched to the brim and in the end I didnt even care that I played it through.
    Some positive aspects are a great artstyle, many different weapons and characters, although I have zero (pun intended) idea what the abilities of the characters are, because you dont get a tutorial and I just didnt even know that I had abilities.
    Well, to sum it up, if you like sci-fi-shooters with a wide story and brutal shootings, this might be a great game to explore, but if you like fast-paced shooters more, this might bore you.    … Expand

    This is the worst Game from a Major developer i've ever played. On Paper this could be the best game for me. I like Shooter games and Loot n Level. But each Aspect is really sluggish made. The Gunplay is literally the worst for any shooter i've seen, Loot is Trash scattered all over the Place and this is supposed to be the Sellingpoint and the Perks and Skills are just irrelevant andThis is the worst Game from a Major developer i've ever played.     The graphics and story are bad, its a game from 2012 so its understandable.
    Cutscenes are boring and the villian is absolute dog ****

    If you'd like to play the game, go for it.
    I got some fun 11 hours out of it, but I'm ever touching it again.

    This game is really boring. You must play every optianal mission, because to silly level system. Hardcore enemies, useless a lot of guns, silly loot system. If you have a 20.000$ and you die, you lost 2.000$. If you have 200$ and you die, you lost 20$. This is stupid.

    Every problem which I had with BL1 is still in BL2, vehicles still don't have a min - max speed climb, they just go straight to max right off the bat, they're awful to maneuver and so on. There's really not much to do in this game but run around and shoot things, the "clean" areas are a welcome addition, but the constant respawning is so annoying. They will also respawn immediately if you exit its area. This is what I usually call a company's strategy to prolong the game with the least effort possible.     An endless loop of "Get gun, shoot thing, get better gun" that doesn't work for me on any level. And the writing... I'm going to make a lot of people angry but there were very few characters that I didn't want to punch in the face. The sort of comedy they use in this game I THOUGHT I'd find pretty funny, but after a while it's grating beyond belief.

    I really want to like this game. The pacing is horrible, long distances to run, lots of quests with no reason to do them at all when its better to grind. Cheap deaths. Lots of them. Extremely boring once you realize what the game actually is.

If they wanted to grow on the first game and they wanted to use guns as their pinnacle of growth they should have looked at more creative instruments such as the weapons used in Ratchet and Clank.     I bought this game thinking it was good because of the ratings on here, but it was terrible. I played for 5 minutes and started throwing up. I hate how you jump around so high and how crappy the gun system is. Enemies are frustrating to kill and story and graphics are ugly and cartoon-like.

    The game is too grindy, you have to literally keep doing the same stuff frequently, which is a very boring thing to do for me, first few hours you start the game chances are you will most likely enjoy it and think its gonna be great, but after you notice how repetitive the game is it starts to make you lose interest. The    Borderlands is a boring & annoying overrated game. Here is why.

    The game is too grindy, you have to literally keep doing the same stuff frequently, which is a very boring thing to do for me, first few hours you start the game chances are you will most likely enjoy it and think its gonna be great, but after you notice how repetitive the game is it starts to make you lose interest.

    The Loot is all the same, open these boxes you get: ammo, grenades, health, shield, money.. yep thats it.
    Then the weapon boxes all give you basically garbage loot most of the time, the white or green type of weapons which you will never use because the blue purple orange are simply better and those you get from a boss for example.
    So the loot in general is also boring and makes you lose interest due to how low rewarding it is.

    Next we go to the questing.
    The quests are fetch quests, which means they are those korean mmo type quests, you talk to the NPC, then it usually commands you to do either (Kill those enemies, collect 10 of the fur of those monsters, find this item for me..) and so on, no story behind it, no character development behind it, nothing.. pure grinding.
    The main quests have mediocre writing and humor behind them, this is acceptable but side quests are not, and in an open world game this is not okay.

    Then the enemies, some main bosses are actually cool, but most of the enemies are more of the same, you keep shooting and then they respawn. then shoot again...duh gets boring pretty fast.

    Basically in this game you keep shooting...just shoot and shoot and loot ammo then shoot these enemies who are not explained about or anything just keep shooting them then they respawn then keep shooting again and so on... its super **** boring.

    Skill tress are all passive skills except 1 also contribute more to game being boring. no action at all, slow leveling and most of the weapons are copy past with some tweaks.

    The good things are the music and the world art style, the main story is average, everything else is bad.

    Co-op might make the game a bit better, but it will never make it a great game, it will still be the boring repetitive grind-fest that it is.

    4/10 Way too overrated, cant find a good reason for its hype. I regret buying this game.    … Expand

    Coop game with the worst coop I've ever played. All because of stupid level system making game in party a complete **** Using save editor is requiered otherwise you'll wear lowlevel gear till the end of the game. Inferior game design everywhere: how items should spawn, how skills should work, bad fast travel points, regular map backtracking, stupid weapon mechanics, stupid UI design, etc.

Its also a big grindfest and reminds more of vanilla world of warcraft than being a cool action-game. Played it for a couple of hours and then lost interest.     This game was super boring, played through it in coop with 1-2 other friends. It was repetitive, bland and just a pain to play at most times. There were 1 area that was entertaining, some sort of optional arena thing where your ammo and other such things were limited and respawning prohibited. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend it - even for free

    Add that all together and you have a perfect little hamster wheel for the simplest of minds. How long will you keep running inside such an artificial wheel is all up to you.

    The most important part is the gameplay. It is like Bioshock, so you build your character and shoot in ego perspective, but this game is much better, because the character development is much more interesting with his several classes, skills and items.

    There is a mistake in the gameplay design: When you load a map the enemies are back and you need to fight them again -.- And even if you stay in the same map, the enemies are respawning. Feels like work,not fun and it is a big timesink.
    Controlling is bad, because the inventory management is a nightmare... in a game where items are important...
    46 DLCs...lol. Thats why I never play games short after release, but years after, when they are really ready (every addon and patch released).
    Technically it could be better, installing mods is a nightmare + there are still many bugs, look at the unofficial Patch mod (that I cant install btw. -.-)
    There are too many dialogues, that are senseless,have low content and feels like written for young people.
    There is no fast saving, just save point system. Sounds like a console game    … Expand

    This game is just dull and boring, the mission are repetitive, the only good thing i can say about this game it has good graphics and it's fun with co-op...but apart from that it is not a great game

    Best word I could use to describe this game is dull. I never felt engaged due to the boring gameplay & story, tedious loot mechanics, and annoying humor. Only redeeming factor is the art style, but I don't buy games for that. BL1 is slightly better.

    It’s addicting, full of creative gags and amazing battles (especially in co-op mode) and it keeps dangling that loot-carrot in front of your face. Add that crazy humor on top and you have a synonymous for the world ‘entertainment’. [November 2012]

    If you're looking for something with a ponderous story full of morality and contemplation – one best savored alone – then you'll need to look elsewhere. Borderlands 2 delivers tons of lighthearted, occasionally juvenile fun with immense replayability, and is best approached with a few buddies in tow. It doesn't revolutionize the concept pioneered by its forebear, but it refines it to a razor-sharp edge and offers some of the most fun you can have in a cooperative action RPG this side of Diablo II. And if nothing else, it's got lots of Claptrap.
