There is no universal formula, a sure-fire method that allows you to instantly master any character, and this is why Central Fiction is so fun to play.

    Brilliant characters and wonderful game-play.

I rated GGXRD-REV2- a 9 or 10 I think. It's more polished, even too polished and perfect. While it's roster is.. well. I just like 2½ of the chars there.

Imagine Street Fighter, or KoF and upgrade everything, add an animated film and buttery smooth controls and you have Central Fiction.

This is one of the best and most underrated fighters ever.

I've played a lot of fighting games over the years and I have some really fond memories about playing Street Fighter 2 Turbo back in the dayI've played a lot of fighting games over the years and I have some really fond memories about playing Street Fighter 2 Turbo back in the day with my Nintendo. To mention some of the more recent titles that I've played there are Tekken 7, Street Fighter 5, Soul Calibur 6, Guilty Gear 3rd Rev (Ver.2). I always knew about Blazblue as a series of fighting games, but never had the time or chance to pick it up, up until now.

For some reason or another, I've felt that that most recent fighting games lacks that certain something for long term appeal. Not to mention that trying to learn up character combos after basic strings is an exercise in frustration. There's either some trick about timing, as in you do the inputs perfectly but you missed the timing by 0,5 seconds, or attacks require way more delay to execute. Often times I've felt that there was more downtime writing down combos to my sketchbook than actually learning by playing.

So where I'm getting with all of this? BlazBlue Centralfiction is without a doubt the best out of the bunch, by the mile. I can't really put in the words, but everything with this fighting game seems to "click" right away. There's no imminent disgusting feeling about jankiness of not able pulling anything other than basic combo strings. Executing smaller combos are easy enough, and for some reason controls feel way tighter than in other titles that I've mentioned.

Lets talk about characters vs to other fighting games. I've tried 3 different characters so far by random out of entire roster, and I felt instantly that each of them would be fun to play with each 3 having unique play style, with already few more that I'd love to test. In other fighting games, picking up character that you'd actually want to learn there's only maybe 1 or 2, and even then often times it feels like trying to swallow spoonful of rusted nails.

It's a damn shame that (at least on steam / PC) it seems this game doesn't have that big of a player base anymore. I've heard that console population seems better but overall, this game needs to be praised for what it's worth, and here's hoping that it would get new spike in player base.

Here's hoping that that this review at least bumps it in right direction. Even as small bump as it may. :)

TLDR: 5/5, I'll keep on throwing nuts with Makoto for times to come.
