Much better than I thought it would be. After a poor start it actually gets quite scary.

Spooky! I became a complete nervous wreck playing just the INTERACTIVE TRAILER, without the horrible control...this game would have a 10.

I finally got this game after the price drop because I read some bad reviews and its one of those am glad I got it situations. I have only played 10 minutes of the spooky town Level 1 where you talk with townspeople to get more of blair witch gossip. The graphics are amazing and it feels like you are playing in sort of sleepy hollow type movie.

This game is scary. It's the scariest game I have played. Scarier than any so called "Horror/Survival" game (Re.Evil for example) and even more scary than Silent Hill 1-4! It uses all the skills of sound, music, design, story-telling and camera angle use to create scares from start to finish. The controls and interface are so not as bad as reviews say. All these games are on budget now and well worth a look. On a modern PC they are the bees-knees in looks, sounds and scariness! Expand

This is probably one of the best horror games that I've ever played. Graphically, it is excellent, containing real-time shadows, high quality textures and a lot cool effects, and we are talking about a game which was released in 2000! The performance is great (the only problems are some graphic bugs that are present when you play the game with new video cards, which make me unable to give it the perfect score, 8). The plot is very nice and intriguing, and sometimes deep. There are, especially at the start of the game, a lot of "scarejumps". The soundtracks are amazing, that are perfectly suited to the circumstances (there are even sounds in the installation of the game!). The gameplay is cool and fun, different from all mainstream videogames. This is a real horror game that makes you get fear. The only bad note about this game is that it is short (you can complete it in 3-5-11 hours).

Only problem is the gameplay that can be confusing to get used to or the character bugging in the cutscenes Expand

Unfortunately, while the story is well-told and intriguing, the gameplay is unwieldy and frustrating -- and after all, we aren't watching a movie, we're playing a game.

With a strong storyline, fantastic graphics, interesting presentation, wonderful voice acting, and engrossing gameplay, Blair Witch is another in a long line of excellent TRI releases.
  3. Despite its flaws, Blair Witch 1 does an admirable job of sustaining an atmosphere of suspense and horror from start to finish, and for some people that may be worth the price of admission.
