Mar 6, 2026Despite its flaws, or perhaps in part because of them, Bladesong is a remarkably charming game. Having put in over a dozen hours, there's still more to discover, more to unlock. Bladesong is definitely not a game that will appeal to everyone, but for those that enjoy a bit of challenge in an otherwise cozy sim game, it definitely has its appeal. [Early Access Score = 80]

Jan 22, 2026There’s something very compelling at work in Bladesong. The sense of desperation, danger and destitution run through the opening hours of the Campaign with alarming force, and in some ways the smithing and swordmaking is simply the means to explore and experience more of this world. I love the writing, and the classic adventure threads that run through each moment really help to pull you onwards. [Early Access Review]

Jan 26, 2026Bladesong is, in my opinion, exactly what it wants to be. It is not the most innovative or immersive blacksmithing game, nor is it an RPG full of player agency and choice. Instead, it’s a really cool sword-creation engine with a nice story and shop sim tacked onto it. If you want to make cool swords, the game is certainly worth the price, and there’s a lot to look forward to as it continues its development. If you’re expecting more from the game than that, you’re going to be disappointed. [Early Access Review]
