    If you’re a die-hard fan of ontological mysteries (think “you wake up in a room”), you’ll probably come away from the game somewhat positive. After all, the developer also seems to be a die-hard fan of ontological mysteries. But please, for goodness sake, try to read slowly when you get to the finale.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game really makes you think and has unexpectedly many hours of gameplay. Birth ME Code has a discord, where you can ask other players for hints for the puzzles and i think that's a very clever idea! It also has many different endings that are in my opinion all very good and mostly really unexpected. I would give it a 9/10 because you have to do everything again from the beginning if you get a bad ending ( and this game has many of them ) . I think it would be a great idea to add some savepoints after really big events.… Expand

    I really enjoyed the story overall, complete with its twists and turns.

    Gameplay-wise, the deduction rooms and puzzles were mostly fun, but there were a few times I got hard stuck on a puzzle (a few of which felt unfair / requiring very specific solutions), deduction room, or flowchart, which was really frustrating and immersion breaking.

    The flowchart and auto-save systems take some getting used to (hint: check the HELP on the flowchart screen!), and can be irritating if you want to jump around between segments on different routes, but it does make for an interesting puzzle to solve on its own.

    The art and music are well done and fit the game nicely.

    As a heads up, the game does lack some QoL features such as "only skip unread text", but at least with the flowchart, you can quickly access segments, so you don't have to re-read everything from the beginning each playthrough (I'm looking at you 999 on the DS!).

    In spite of its issues, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed games like Zero Escape (999, VLR, ZTD), Danganronpa, Phoenix Wright, as well as anyone who enjoys dark, gritty mystery games / visual novels full of interesting twists.    … Expand

    Its a very interesting Mystery Visual Novel with you set as the Mastermind looking for a Traitor, the Story is interesting and well writtenIts a very interesting Mystery Visual Novel with you set as the Mastermind looking for a Traitor, the Story is interesting and well written and puts you through many well placed twists.
    You also go through so called Deduction Rooms wich are setup nice with some small puzzles in it and are very fair, tho can be a bit bland at times.
    There are also straight up Puzzles in between vertain bits and those are my only problem with the VN as some can be very much "you either get it or you don't". most of them are fine but some really just grind on you and when you get stuck a logn time on a Puzzle it can get really annoyign and take you out of the Experience    … Expand
