    BattleBlock Theater is without doubt a good representation of how a platform videogame has to be made. With a lot of levels, obstacles, weapons, customization of characters and a good artistic design, without forgetting the comedy with a funny narrator, we will enter into this great game ideal to laugh with friends or be more competitive and beat our own records in the different levels.BattleBlock Theater is without doubt a good representation of how a platform videogame has to be made.     Battleblock theater is a game that really shines in co-op mode - either locally (which is a blast on a TV with a few controllers), or online (which is best when the other person/people are on skype or similar). I recommend using a controller however, as I would usually for platformers. If you are using a keyboard, I would suggest rebinding the keys, because the defaults are rubbish. The head/weapon system works well and if you really don't want to work for them yourself you could always buy them off steam market quite cheaply. The visual aspect is really appealing and the narration is excellent. The music isn't the best I have ever seen but it fits the game and is pleasant to listen to.

    All up it really is a fun game to play with friends - but not much fun by yourself. If you've had enough of trying to beat Spelunky or FTL, this is a great game to chill with some friends.
    9/10 maybe single-player could be a little more enticing.    … Expand

    I had lots of fun playing this game, there was a very good story it has online and local co-op. There are 360 prisoners to collect too. It gets challenging but fun.

And here's why; the narrator is absolutely out of his mind, the plot consists of cats who have somehow taken prisoners, and you get the opportunity to change your character's face and color each and every time that you play.     Aside from the hilarious lines and the evil evil kitties, this game is a surprisingly fun platformer that will keep you entertained until the very end. The levels aren't long, but can get extremely frustrating from time to time, especially if you're trying to collect every gem. And even though there aren't any "bosses" in the game, the last level of every floor is timed, and can be pretty difficult to get through. All-in-all, if you're looking for a new platformer to sink your teeth in to, consider picking this game up as it's one of the best platformers on Steam.

    And if you don't, then you'd better watch your back, because the cats are surely coming for you. Oh yeah, and did I mention that the soundtrack is totally awesome? Because it is. It's nothing like anything made ever in ever forever.     People are comparing this game to the likes of Castle Crashers, Super Meat Boy, Fez and even Minecraft. The truth is: it's nothing like any of those games. It's nothing like anything made ever in ever forever. It's an completely fresh and utterly unique platformer with colourful graphics and an absurd story-line.

    Most of the fun comes with finding out and trying to deal with how bonkers this game actually is... You play as what I can only guess are doodles of humans who shipwrecked onto a mysterious island. The captain of the ship, Hatty Hattington, is possessed by a magical top hat he is forced to wear by the humanoid ginger cats who inhabit the island's creepy run-down theater. If you're having trouble grasping this, then you are not alone. These humanoid cats, or at least the security-worker cats, name you and all other crew members of your ship their prisoners and force you to entertain the civilian population of the island, who are also cats.

    The humour had me laughing the whole time, and I played for four hours. I'm not even anywhere near completing even the main story-line; the game has so many levels and only sometimes gets repetitive, even despite it's simple premise. On the rare occasion it does get redundant it throws in another mechanic or unlocks another weapon and the fun returns. The story-line is only two player, but there are some sports-styled games for four of you to anger each other over. Oh and Stamper as the narrator: Genius.

    There is just so much here in one tiny package. Good old simplistic platformer gameplay, colourful goofy graphics, tons of levels and collectibles, make-your-own-level content creator, huge replay value even if you aren't a completionist, funky soundtrack and everything about it is hilarious and entertaining throughout.    … Expand

    Imagine this game is a pair of pants. Now imagine buckling them everyday with a buddy. 9/10 Would buckle these pants.

    On a more serious note, the game has great humor, a silly story and pretty fun co-op and multiplayer 'mini-games.' It's not a masterpiece, but they did good with this one.

    but battle block is somehow different is it the narrator or is it because i love behemoth games.
    battle block puts you through rage inducing heart aching, vein popping sitiuations (online mode).
    battleblock it just insanely fun but without a companion it can become dull. but thats like after you 14hous into the game so it doesnt effect the score at all. its just truly a great game all together. thanks for reading    … Expand

    One of the best games i played so far. from the same creator of castle crashers also one of my favorite games so much levels, each time more surprises and more fun. Really recommend to buy this game!

    One of the best platformers since "Super Meat Boy" (Super Meat Boy is far better, though). Single player is a lot of fun, co-op is an entirely different experience (you don't just go through the single-player missions with a second player, you're given all-new challenges that require cooperation). The online Arena modes feel like a throwaway feature, which is how I felt about the non-storyOne of the best platformers since "Super Meat Boy" (Super Meat Boy is far better, though). Single player is a lot of fun, co-op is an entirely different experience (you don't just go through the single-player missions with a second player, you're given all-new challenges that require cooperation). The online Arena modes feel like a throwaway feature, which is how I felt about the non-story modes in "Castle Crashers", but opinions will vary here.

    Music is superb. The taunting narrator is a fun twist, but he does run out of things to say and quickly starts repeating himself. You can, however, disable the frequency of his comments, or turn him off entirely, through the "Options" menu.

    Controls fine on keyboard, but I've always felt these games are best with a gamepad.

    I wish these guys could release a game every couple of years (it's now been six years since the original release of "Castle Crashers" in 2008), but maybe the reason they don't is because they'd rather make inspired games than simply churn out something to keep their name in the industry.

    Two major drawbacks are the musical selection (there aren't that many tracks in the game, and they start repeating themselves very quickly), and the time it takes from confirming "Retry" to a mission resetting takes far too long for this kind of game. It also would've been a huge plus if they got the narrator voice actor to record even just 20 additional lines, as he starts repeating himself way too quickly as well.

    I got this game for $10 during the launch sale, and I highly recommend it at that price. It's no "Super Meat Boy", but I don't think we'll see a game that steals the throne for a long, long time.    … Expand

This game is an overly bloated pile. I love 2D platformers, and for people to give this a 10, it's just a bad move. Get ShovelKnight and save our money.     THis is my best experience in the BETA test.I had never imagine that I would have such fun in these unprepared game adventure.

    The game is so fun.And the cooperate map are similar to the solo one,but there is a few difference that you can use your Y and W to help each other,which add hundreds of tons of fun.碉堡了！ But My Fav is the CG,it is really Imaginative!HO    THis is my best experience in the BETA test.I had never imagine that I would have such fun in these unprepared game adventure.

    Incredible narration and fun puzzles. Solid and very memorable game that I didn't want to end. Much more fun cooperatively than it is single player. Highly recommend this game.

    REVIEW: So I watched the intro and thought to myself: “hey that narrator sounds really funny, that might be a fun game!” I was both right and wrong: the narrator is funny until you’ve heard everything he has to say many times, and the game is fun in some modes. There are some really interesting puzzles which actually quite stretch your brain, too. It isn’t until the end where timing has to be precise, which is a good thing, because your character feels like a slow, earthbound sucker (double jump notwithstanding). This means that you can breeze through most of the game relatively quickly—if it holds your interest for long enough, anyway. I know that I got bored and didn’t come back for a few months. Still, the multiplayer modes seem fun enough when there are actually people playing them (I got the fireball weapon, and it was way too much fun burning the poor other players).

    There are significant drawbacks, too. This game doesn’t really compare favorably to any AAA platformer I’ve ever owned in terms of mechanics. I don’t know, maybe you are supposed to get a charge out of being slow and hopping tiny jumps, but anybody can do that in real life… Speaking of, there are some intensely frustrating moments after the difficulty ramps up and timing suddenly becomes critical. There are generally enough checkpoints to make this feel less annoying, but that won’t keep you from running out of time on the last finale levels. Also, aside from the difficulty going up, the game doesn’t feel like it is going anywhere. Sure the cutscenes are funny, but they lead you to believe that there will be some kind of coherent ending—which turns out not to be the case. To summarize the game in the words of the narrator: “that was… adequate!”    … Expand

    Very fun game, especially if you have someone to play with. It's even better if you play with 4 friends in battle mods.
    It's a puzzle game and the humor could give to you and your friends good laughs.

    It is funny at the start, especially if you can play with a friend. However the gameplay was a little bit too repetitive for me, and eventually it became outright boring. The game is pretty much doing the same thing over an over again. All the levels are very similiar.

    its 2D game and its funny game but if you have other great games don't buy that game.

Eventually you'll have to call aLegitimately funny on its own, with plenty of content both official and community-contributed, but it becomes a thing of hilarious beauty when played with a friend, especially for local co-op.     For me it is one of the best platform games for PC there really is "fantastic", really you can entertain themselves for hours and hours on end, i love it ;).

    Pro: Ease of use, will get challenging later on, cheap, runs well, many skins, forgiving in deaths
    Neutral: Story & humor, weapons
    Con: Some bad re spawn area, only 2 players for story mode (4 for arena), cut scenes are too loud
    Battleblock Theater is a famous and worthwhile co-op game.

    This thing is awesome. Play it now. It has a variety of features and games that make is fun to play and it's not a pay to play game. Get the dang game already. The behemoth is awesome. This is better than undertale. Really.

    Very fun and original platformer for PC. Comedy is great and graphics are great too. Framerate runs at 60 FPS and this game is great to play with friends.

    Those 2 chapters have super low room of error when it comes to timing, to the point that it felt like I passed some segments out of pure luck. This takes away from the sense of accomplishment gained when    BattleBlock Theater is a solid platforming game. I don't care if anybody dies, but, it is an AMAZING game with great and challenging levels with great enemies but the chance of saving Hatty H. slipped away when he became a corpse with no death stripping Hatty H. of his life. My favorite part is the editor ant it's similar to Super Mario Maker.… Expand

    si no te gusta lo difícil no lo descargues puede parecer el típico juego malardo de 5 niveles pero tiene mas de 150 diría yo y tiene 3 modos teniendo un modo único en xbox y otro en pc, tiene multijugador pero si eres muy malo no te lo recomiendo porque solo conseguirías morir y que te carreen por otro lado es de Behemoth y de esa empresa yo confió, lo recomiendo totalmente tengo aquí unassi no te gusta lo difícil no lo descargues puede parecer el típico juego malardo de 5 niveles pero tiene mas de 150 diría yo y tiene 3 modos teniendo un modo único en xbox y otro en pc, tiene multijugador pero si eres muy malo no te lo recomiendo porque solo conseguirías morir y que te carreen por otro lado es de Behemoth y de esa empresa yo confió, lo recomiendo totalmente tengo aquí unas 40 horas pero en la xbox lo jugué mas de 400 horas cuando era pequeñito porque no tenia xbox live y era el que mas me divertía.

    También sobra decir que si te gusta este te descargues Battleblock theater, es un muy buen juego igual que este, hasta si tienes battleblock theater te dan un caballero totalmente gratis en castle crashers y si tienes castle crashers te dan unas cabezas gratis en battleblock theater, ademas tiene el modo hardcore que es la misma historia las mismas armas lo mismo todo, bueno si tienes una arma y te lo quieres pasar en modo hardcore la tendras (Se conserva todo en el modo hardcore)

    Lo recomiendo totalmente tambien pueden pasarse por The Behemoth que son los creadores de este juego, pueden jugar pit people pero para pit people es necesario que vean el final de battleblock theater porque los finales estan unidos y eso, lo recomiendo sobre todo para pasar un buen rato con sus amigos    … Expand

    This game is an amazing platformer I'm not even the biggest fan of platformers but you can tell this game was made with heart with lots of levels, weapons, and customization for characters. Along with good multiplayer game modes and a level editor that can give you hours of fun. whenever I'm on steam looking for a game to play with friends I choose this game half the time. good game 8/10

    Ничего нового эта игра не привносит, но какая же она очаровательная. Уилл Стэмпер — просто бог озвучания, на которого я ровняюсь. Геймплей интересный, задачки тоже интересные. Ну и куда же без фирменного юмора Бегемотов, где такое БАМ, а потом БУМ, затем БЫЫЫЫЫМ.

    Обожаю эту игру    Ничего нового эта игра не привносит, но какая же она очаровательная. Уилл Стэмпер — просто бог озвучания, на которого я ровняюсь. Геймплей интересный, задачки тоже интересные. Ну и куда же без фирменного юмора Бегемотов, где такое БАМ, а потом БУМ, затем БЫЫЫЫЫМ.

    Обожаю эту игру

    Very dum game. Do I even need to explain why this game sucks. Seriously just play a good game like castle crashers.

    Rage inducing at some point, laughs and laughs in another. Really dependant on who you play with, but some hilarious moments happened in my experience.

    Fun if played in company. The game ends up becoming repetitive on the final stretch, would have appreciated a little more variety in the scenarios.

    Battle Block theater is nostalgic in a way for me. I remember going over to my neighbors house to play this game and Skylanders on her 360. I recently saw the game had a sale on steam so I bought it. The game is fun, don't get me wrong but it doesn't do much different compared to other platformers. The standard Behemoth humor helped me complete the semi-boring gameplay. I'm also not a HUGEBattle Block theater is nostalgic in a way for me.     I'm not into plattaformers to much, but this is one of the best I played so far. Very fun either in co-op or singleplayer, the mechanics are great and are implemented incredibly.

    BattleBlock Theater is not original and it’s not ashamed of that. It’s everyone else that should be ashamed and green with envy that they couldn’t make such a fun game.
