    - You can play with friends
    - Each play through is highly customizable on how you start.
    - It is cheap
    - The game reminds me of the older 2D dungeon crawlers from my childhood
    - The devs seem to really care about the game and its community

This game is 4 player co op real time dungeon crawling, where each run is a newly orchestrated choir of chaos. Hilarious, challenging and very minimal hand holding. It's one of my all time favorites.

You'll die a lot, but as you go farther in, you'll learn little tricks that'll let you get farther and farther. Kinda addicting if you start as the right classes especially. Takes awhile, but really good game.

    4. Fun RPG elements like traps, the minotaur, hunger, and scaling talents that improve based on the actions you take.
    5. Unique races and class abilities.
    6. Rogue-like gameplay keeps you wanting to play to progress further each run.
    7. Unique gameplay styles based on class proficiencies, magic skill, and weapon styles.
    8. Fun voxel-based art style that makes things simple and recognizable while keeping things visually interesting.
    9. Dual story paths to go down with multiple endings based on the race you pick and the actions you take.
    10. Gameplay can make you really immersed to where you forget that you've been playing for hours.
    11. The game is affordable, costing only $15 for the base game and $8 for the two DLC packs with seasonal sales on steam.

    -Negatives-
    1. Because the game is a rogue-like, it can get repetitive and boring when you reach the endings of the game. Re-playability is a problem because unlike a game such as Enter the Gungeon, or Binding of Isaac, you don't unlock new items or anything for the next run while playing the game that changes up the way in which you play.
    2. Buggy/Laggy multiplayer. If you're playing with a group of random people, chances are you will not make it to Baron Herx without getting crazy amounts of lag, which often kills a run because not a lot of players know how to remedy it. From my own experience, this can be avoided by pausing a run, returning to the main menu, and starting the game back up on the same run with the same people. Some bugs will make monsters invisible, causing unpreventable deaths, while others will make players invisible everywhere except the chat and inventory menu, even after restarting.
    3. The start of the game is the most tedious and difficult portion because of having to level up skills; specifically the appraisal skill which takes forever and can only be sped up by finding things that you can already appraise like the cheese that drops off of rats. This likely will turn new players off from playing the game because the first few levels of the game feel like they take ages only for you to die to a boulder.

Overall, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives and you can easily find yourself spending hours enjoying the game with friends or by yourself. It's a really impressive game when you consider the fact that it's only been made by 6 people. I'd love to see more from Turning Wheel Games.

Barony is a very retro feeling game that is challenging and rewarding. It’s a rogue like with many different ways to play, from races, classes, weapon types, spells and more. It’s clear that the developers put a lot of TLC into the game.

The recent UI and graphical overhaul made it feel close to AAA titles while still keeping the depth of gameplay that made Barony cathartic to overcome.

Also this game helped me to understand NetHack!

    Pros:
Each run can be quite a bit different
Gameplay can be addicting once you understand it
Each class is quite a bit different

    Cons:
Examining every item gets tedious and annoying
The boulders will be 90% of your deaths. When you die from these it seems unfair.
Nothing carries over to other runs.

I can't believe Epic Store gave us this game..
Wish i didn't attach it to my account UGH!
Don't bother cluttering ur account like i did... *Even though the game was made with a 1 man team in his garage and the graphics look like 1988 NES. I decided to give it a shot.. WIsh i didn't. I wont get that 90 minutes back... The game is a new game everytime. You keep nothing! and you will

I am more pissed that somehow someway this VERY VERY LOW BUDGET game is on the epic store
as a free game instead of any other game that people would actually enjoy..
i doubt i will ever return to it..

Game is filled with unfair deaths and feel incomplete. Could potentially be a good game if the developers would add content to it, but that is not gonna happen.

This is a very interesting and addicting game. At first one may think it is too difficult but that is just due to the genre and being inexperienced. I did have major trouble and rage moments at the beginning, but after a bit I got better and got hooked. I did have major trouble and rage moments at the beginning, but after a bit I got better and got hooked. The different classes and races are unique, giving some variety, although some classes are clearly superior to others. Combat and leveling is always very satisfying and you are given a lot of customization options when it comes to difficulty. Examples include getting an extra life, turning off cheap death traps and time limiting Minotaurs, and allowing to toggle hunger. I have found though it is best to leave hunger on if you are planning to go deep into the game. Some gripes i have are that appraising items can be a pain and your inventory can seem really cramped in the late game. Since appraising is just an annoying waiting game for most classes, they should just up the stat level of it on all classes except the ones that struggle with it. As for the inventory problem, it could be fixed by having it level up over time with your strength stat or there could be an uncommon item such as a scroll to expand it. All in all this is a pretty good game a worth the $15 it is on steam right now. I do advise to maybe wait for it to go on sale because it can be had for a dirt cheap 2-5 dollars Expand

Barony is a great game but you should know what you're getting into. It is a rouglike witch means randomly generated dungeons and permadeath. The mechanics are tough and take a lot of time to get good at, but once you invest your time it is a great experience. There is a great community centered around it, a strong modding community, and is being actively updated by the devs.

The gameplay itself is entertaining. The runs don't get terribly repetitive unless you do so yourself, the combat is fun, and you can succeed with more than enough different methods. The game is rather unforgiving and the only thing you keep between runs is your knowledge, so not a game for the weak willed. My first main problem with the game lie is the difficulty when you just start off, primarily as a class with a lower hp. My second problem lies in the latter game, the difficulty jumps significantly higher compared to the first part, particularly in specific enemies, and the last areas generation is almost boring to go through. All in all however, a pretty entertaining game to sink some time into. Expand

Traditional rogue-like that's accessible and fun to play. Complex and secretive, but not not obtuse. Personally, it's been so refreshing to play something that doesn't hold your hand. When you die it's usually because you made a mistake so it feels satisfying to keep trying and succeed.

I actually feel like i'm going on an adventure into a dangerous place instead of pushing buttons
