Waay overrated, gameplay is bored as hell.
I know this is my opinion
But i thought after all the positivity ill give it a try, but why.. why praise the game when its not even special? Heck even dark alliance is better

I've never played a hundred plus hour game and then wanted to play it all over again right away. BG3 is an amazing experience and one of the best games I have ever played. GOTY for sure.

Too easy on Tactician mode. I’m not well-versed in BG3’s mechanics or how Larian Studios (LS) has done things with their past games regarding combat; yet, I’m destroying it on Tactician mode. Create Water + Lightning Bolt, much? Hundreds of scrolls and potions in my inventory, much? I can’t imagine how mind-numbingly dull the lower difficulties are.

Create Water + Lightning Bolt, much? Hundreds of scrolls and potions in my inventory, much? I can’t imagine how mind-numbingly dull the lower difficulties are.

The User Interface (UI) is clunky, sometimes unresponsive, and glitchy. You get scrolls and potions up the *ss, but there’s no autostack feature? Are you kidding? I need to take a 10-minute coffee break to sort through all the crap in my inventory. I’ll select a party member’s portrait, hear a click, but it doesn’t switch over. I'll have a character selected in the merchant menu, highlight a weapon from the merchant, and then the weapon will be compared to a weapon from a different party member. Then I’ll re-highlight the same weapon and it'll compare it to my selected party member's weapon. Are you using dice rolls for the UI?

According to Morte from Planescape: Torment (PT), tieflings are oftentimes addled or have a mean streak through them because they're a mix between a human and a fiend. Fiends are evil creatures from the Lower Planes. All of this was reflected in PT’s world. In BG3, they're just furries. And that goes for the rest of the non-human NPCs except for creatures like goblins and ogres. Different species with different alignments and behaviors is a big deal in the Forgotten Realms, and some of these species don’t like each other. How did you mess that up? You never watched Lord of The Rings? You don’t remember how dwarves and elves didn’t like each other? Tolkien’s work and the Forgotten Realms are two different things, but I’ve made my point.

Sexually degenerate content. In BG2 and PT there's sexual/romance content, but it was done tastefully. These games relied more on innuendo and colorful language as opposed to hitting the player over the head with, "Hey, wanna go to a secluded area and f***?", after knowing them for only a day. Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but most of your customers are straight men. We don’t want h*mosexual NPCs badgering us for sex. It’s weird. The people who post on your forum about romancing Astarion are in the minority, just like they’re a minority in the general population. If you want more money, then you shouldn’t alienate the majority of your customers to chase the fringe.

Too many female fighters/barbarians and too many females in leadership positions without good reason. Human women in the Forgotten Realms are no different from women in the real world, which means they’re much smaller and weaker than men. Therefore, a regiment of female soldiers in heavy armor wielding great swords looks stupid. It looks as stupid as if there were an all-children regiment of soldiers wearing heavy armor and wielding great swords. I’m not saying there shouldn’t be any because there are always exceptions; however, when I see a group of Flaming Fists it shouldn’t be 50% male and 50% female or 25%/75%, favoring females. Under normal circumstances, no sane civilization would create a 50% male and 50% female military because there’s this thing called chivalry and another thing called biology. Men by nature want to protect women, and women by nature want to be protected by men. That’s chivalry. One woman can have around 15 children in a lifetime by one or many men; the number of children a civilization can produce will only go up if the number of females goes up. That’s biology. Consequently, it makes absolutely no sense for a civilization to send women to the battlefield. Doing so weakens the military and the future of the civilization. As for leadership, in the real world most leaders are men because men have more testosterone. Testosterone makes you bigger, stronger, and more confident, which inspires others to follow. Do you think Ketheric Thule would be as cool as he is if he were a 5’2’’ female with a high-pitched voice? When I see a 5’2’’ female NPC barking out orders to 6’2’’ chads in a voice that she’s obviously trying to deepen through inflection, because she’s aware of her physical inadequacy, I cringe. Only people who have grown up sitting in front of Netflix can take this kind of thing seriously. Stop letting your Human Resource department control your artistic vision.

Why do many of the dwarves, gnomes, and elves have the facial features of races found in human beings? They're an entirely different species. This feature makes as much sense as having a cat with an African native’s facial features or a human that looks like a duergar. This only makes sense with half-elves, tieflings, and half-orcs because they're mixed with humans who may have looked African, Asian, etc. Elves, dwarves, and gnomes aren’t humans.

Highly recommended. Everything I could hope for from an RPG and as someone who grew up playing the BG and BG2 this game despite being different does them justice. It the best translation of modern DnD to a game by far as far as I know. Great presentation as well, acting, visuals, music, all top tier.

It just shows you don't need a huge budget, a huge PR marketing campaign or cheap loot box style mechanics to make a great game.

But care, once you play this game, a lot of the new games, will feel it's "missing" something, simply because, the graphic, the voice acting and music in this game, are just superb, i don't even have a game that i could compare it to, simply because none of the games can reach this games quality, sure some games can reach on game- play, but not in all the catogories, as i said, it's the Lord Of The RIngs of the games...

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is good and can be even better with a few patches. it is clear many reviewers did not make it until the end or they would have noticed performance problems and a lot of bugs in the last chapter. It took me around 90 hours to complete the game and I loved the voice acting, music and branching paths and stories.

Unfortunately the last hours left a sour taste in my mouth. The run up to the boss while being bombarded by enemy artillery made me scream "Who the hell came up with this **** and a boss that has to be taken down with a timer running in the background was not fun at all. The ending cutscene took around 5 minutes leaving many questions unanswered. In Larian tradition this will be patched and an enhanced edition released. This is not okay though, if we invest almost a hundred hours into a game we deserve closure.

I still had a good time with it but am tired of buying products that will get patched throughout the year to deliver a finished game. It is what it is though and I suggest opening the upper city for exploration and splitting the third act into two. The last act was too cramped and the city should be bigger. It is clear the upper city was cut out of the game but planned initially.

With a vast world to explore with varied stories and secrets to discover, Baldur's Gate 3 definitely shines. The cast is largely appealing and voice acting is top notch all-around, even if the storytelling and line delivery is varied in its pace. Character progression is somewhat weak in the opening levels but has a strong foundation for a great buildcraft experience, even if it lacks some on the fly experimentation seen in Larian's past efforts. Despite some performance woes in the later parts of the game and controller hangups, this is a journey worth taking for fans of Dungeons & Dragons or those new to the role playing field.

Larian Studios, the creators of the latest installment, have gone to great lengths to make sure they didn't disgrace any of the franchise's building blocks. The love and care is evident in Baldur's Gate 3, though needless to pretend, there aren't a few bricks crumbling here and there in this monument. It's far from a perfect title, but on the whole Baldur's Gate 3 is a brilliant computer RPG that is undoubtedly not to be overlooked. [Issue#329]

Baldur’s Gate III is a title that many would not have thought possible just a few years ago. The game serves to further Larian Studios’s already strong reputation, and the studio deserves massive credit for refusing to panic, taking its time to get things right, and continuing to offer improvements even after launch at an impressive rate. Hopefully, it is able to reap the richly deserved rewards for doing so.
